  • There are many reasons to visit Kielder Water & Forest Park; the most popular being the distinctive scenery. Home to northern Europe's largest man-made lake and England's largest forest, the Park's remoteness and clean air and water offer a fresh outdoor experience.

Hi there! I am a university undergraduate student and for my dissertation i'm producing a documentary on the proposed reintroduction of the Lynx into Kielder forest. I would absolutely love to include drone footage in my documentary as it would add a great perspective of the landscape. Unfortunately I do not have the resources or equipment to obtain this footage myself, so I was wondering if you would be willing to send me some of your footage for me to include? It would be such an incredible help and addition to my project, I would only need a few scenes. It would be completely referenced and credited to you and not at all passed off as my own. We can sign and agree on this and I'd acknowledge you in my written part of the project as well. It also won't be shown anywhere public, it is purely for university work and will just be internally marked. Love the footage you have here, thank you for your time! :)

kielder is a great place for an adventure but, northumbrian water dont cater for the disabled, so mobility scooter or wheel chair forget about it, just a word of warning theres to many gravel tracks

    Monoculture ruined kielder unfortunately

@Mithrandir it’s cutting down the ancient forest and replacing it all with one type of tree. So traditionally kielder will have likely been Oak, Ash, Birch etc now that is cut down and it’s all just Scandinavian Pine so looks very artificial. Furthermore the tree is very cheap it isn’t visually appealing in my opinion.

@Mithrandir they did this for the production of timber. Scandinavian pine grows quickly so it’s great for harvesting wood cheaply.
