Started my Trx450r the other day first time in a couple weeks and had a very slight drip every few minutes from the weep hole I guess I need to do this now too lol
I have what I think is the same kit but I just damaged a seal using it. I have a vice and not a press but should still work I think as long as I’m using the right adapter
Im in the process of rebuilding my water pump on a 2018 Yfz450r, and i notice on the mechanical seal the one side is grooved and the part that is supposed to go in the case is not. How does it fit down over that metal piece on the case?
Its one piece it gets pressed in from the inside of that outer clutch cover! Have a look at my real time engine build i did this past winter that should be on there to see!
ononewheel7 ya i watched it but its not the same as mine. There is nothing in there its just an open hole. Mine has like a metal shaft that comes out with grooves on it.
ononewheel7 Did you use any heat when you did it like that? Ive been having terrible luck trying to punch it out. Thanks for the videos by the way! Very informative and fun to watch ;)
I maybe wrong, but that white seal is a ceramic seal and you can not touch it with fingers! It ruins the whole purpose of design to stop leaking. I could be wrong. Great video anyway…Thanks!
Not that I dislike the video because it is still helpful just may be my hearing or my phone but it did help me fix my yfz. Just got it back together as shown in your video so I appreciate it. No hate just was saying the music was kinda high.
@@ononewheel7 will do. I didn’t see the date it was uploaded. But I am following on your insta page. I like the maintenance keep up on your machines. I try to do the same while I’m in the off season and get all the small mechanical parts replaced instead of them costing me a race or the engine. Nice work, I sure do like watching them. Kept me up a few nights ago as I was watching all the vids on instagram
@@alack1153ya this one is 4 years old. I actually will be doing a remake of this video soon with a new engine i am building just waiting for my clutch cover. Thanks man appreciate it have not been on ig in a week taking a break from it and Facebook prob start back up sometime next month.
With all these vids I should be able to fix anything on mine soon 😁. Thank you for doing these!
Any time bud! You know if you need help w anything I’m not too far away!
I just finished mine 10 minutes ago. No more coolant leaking. UA-cam certified haha
Do you have a video that shows how to remove the seals and bearing? Thx
I have a newer video i did earlier this year have a look i may have shown removing them.
Started my Trx450r the other day first time in a couple weeks and had a very slight drip every few minutes from the weep hole I guess I need to do this now too lol
Yup prob time to rebuild the water pump!
I was wandering where you got that driver for the water pump seal?
Its a kit from harbor freight and works awesome for various bearings.
Love the videos. Everything I know about Yamaha I Learned from you. Where do you buy your rekluse clutches from?
Thanks jeff glad these can help people! Rite from rekluse tell em i sent ya 🤘
Hey do you have a detailed video on how to install the rekluse clutch ??
Oh ya rite here!

Hi, what is that thing that you used in between the press and the clutch cover, the adaptor to only press the metal piece and not the rubber seal??
Its a kit from harbor freight with all different sized bearing race/seal driver set
What size out of that kit did you use?

Efi yfz450r?
Do u run a super cooler
No
My husky always over heated I put a super cooler on it haven’t had it happen since they are nice
Bryan Tucker the yfz450r does have an oversized impeller stock i do use a spal oversized fan though for xc racing and it works really well!
Hey I have a 2019 YFZ 450 an I was riding it about second gear cut off .......... had coolant in the oil any ideas what could be the problem
Coolant in the oil could be a head gasket or the water pump seal failed!
@@ononewheel7 would it keep it from starting like it want to turn over but it want
Did it overheat? So now it just turns over?
But I’m thinking it’s the water pump seal because everything else fine
No lights on no over heating
So I’m assuming all you did to remove the mechanical seal was just press it out the same way you installed it?
I actually just tapped it out w a hammer!

chris castro i didn’t this bearing and mechanical seal are so small it really doesn’t need it they pop rite out!
What basket are you running?
2009 OEM

Great video anyway…Thanks!
Been doing it this way for 10 years w no leaks and racing so.
@@ononewheel7 Great to know that, I’m about to do mine. So, I shouldn’t worry.
How did you removed that mechanical seal? (Spring, metal jacket seal).
@@rayphoto7358 just hammered it out with a bearing tool
Where did you get that tool?
The clutch tool i think on ebay!
My bad, man I wasn’t specific enough. I meant the water pump seal tool. I tried finding one but no one has one. Trying to get the quad ready for NYOA
Oh that is a kit i got from harbor freight w assorted sizes for pressing bearings in it was like 20 bucks!
Thanks. Maybe I’ll see you out in NY one of these days.
Im always at all the NYOA’s
