The "flying" effect still gets me. It's really cool.
I rode it twice cause I love it
gryffindorryan just by watching the flying scene
No matter how many times i ride it
It still amazes me
That effect is the first and only theme park effect that really fooled me and astounded me. That weightlessness feeling in your gut is so real during that scene.
The hob goblin fire effect is the most immersive thing I have ever witnessed on any ride, I absolutely love this ride.
This is, in my opinion, one of the greatest rides ever made and I honestly think it hasn't been topped to this day. The effects are incredible! It's severely underrated.
One of my favorite theme park rides of all time, and my favorite ride in Islands of Adventure. I haven't been in over 10 years and I want to go back so badly.
1:57 The Idea Of Squinching
I never get tired of this ride.... it's fawesome
Wow! Did not see this specific behind the scenes video before, thanks for posting!
3:22 the hard hat had spiderman on it
@WDI2008 The contract expires next year and I am sure Disney will pull the plug on any contract renewel
@Meleon900 errr... no its not. If anything Dinosaur at DAK is "just like Indiana Jones" seen as it uses the exact same ride technology coupled with animatronics and physical effects. True, you sit in a car that moves on a track but that's where the similarities end.
think this 3d is amazing and coo even the cartoon
@flboy1982 not in my opinion, still amazing though
i think the best is the rock 'n' rollercoaster
@maxwellsmart2000 And another thing, why on earth go through all the trouble to make this already perfect ride look like a dead film trilogy? It'd make more sense to do it like the upcoming film, and still that makes no sense because this is supposed to be based on the comics.
This wont be here much longer now that Disney owns Marvel
12 years later it’s still here so yeah that comment didn’t age well.
@@Mario87456fr. Also, the contract between universal and marvel isn’t going to end, it doesn’t have an end date, cause at the time marvel had an agreement with universal to have some of their characters in their property, they were about to go into bankruptcy, so universal literally saved them, so this is kind of like a thank you reward or gift from marvel to universal. Although, in the contract, it states that universal is not allowed to add any more marvel rides or lands into any of their parks, but they can only remodel or remove any rides/lands in any of their parks.
they did a FUCKING AMAZING job with this ride, i really did feel like i was falling in that last part of the ride, i go the butterflies in my stomach and everything, it was crazy!
Yeah it was a amazing adventures of spiderman
The entire time I was on the ride I thought...
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO MAKE THIS AND HOW DID THEY MAKE IT
The ride's development began in 1996 and lasted for 3 years.
Even after 20 years, this ride is still the best and better than whatever Disney cooked up.
You are right this attraction remains the best ! I Hope They will not remove it as they do at USJ 🇯🇵😕, they must keep the Orlando one 🇺🇸! This is the Last .
I still dont understand how it felt like i fell 30 stories lmao
The ride broke down for those eight people who disliked
one of my all time favorite rides
Rachel Anstett same
So the walls are moving down we are not moving up
This is over 14 years old (came out in 98) and STILL the bestride in the world!? NO ONE has topped it! The HD retool was actually good (unlike the Simpsons which is a blurry dim mess). Harry Potter was supposed to top this but doesn't even touch it.
in the gravity ray part i thought we went up like 30 ft
It's from a TV documentary from, like, 1999 or 2000. It was only recently uploaded to UA-cam, however.
The attraction itself is still the same, however.
Kings Island History no its just the graphics have improved
@@bangboomdie3326 and the soundtrack changed too
Who ever fine tuned this should have done The forbidden journey, The movement on that ride is horrible
Here because I can’t believe the flying segment is an illusion
the riders at 4:40 are doing the same thing I did when I rode this ride looking up in the air to see if they were floating
Would love a new back to the future ride using these vehicles
Went on this and the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey ride today. I don't know that much about either so I was unbiased. I can honestly and whole heartedly say that this was even better than the Harry Potter ride even though it's a little over ten years older than the Forbidden Journey.
Flantastic Remember the spider man ride was renovated
@bewaretheconficker I believe the ride is based on the Spider Man cartoon in the time period rather than the comics
The pre-show animation is clearly based on the 1990s cartoon, while the current ride animations take cues from the Sam Raimi movies.
Having ridden this ride multiple times at multiple locations (in multiple different countries), it's truly amazing to know what went into making it. For my money, they succeeded on all counts. Definitely one of the most immersive rides I've ever been on.
Which version was the best or were they identical?
Who came here for the flying effect because when I rode it I was looking around the set trying to figure out how’d it worked
I went on this ride back in 2001 about a week and a half after the 9/11 attack. Half the screens weren't working and a lot of the time we were just looking at blank screens. I was still blown away by how much fun it was.
This ride has broke a few times, but i still enjoy it, its an amazing ride
Just rode this ride 2 days ago...so awesome
3:18 I thought that head was part of the ride lol
So that explains all of it! Well said!
This ride still kicks ass 20 years later
One of the dislikes came from Disney
I still don't know where the water comes from
This was groundbreaking then came harry potter and made something new
@kham2914 lol, it depends on the eyes of the beholder ^_^
I'm still stunned by this ride...
they use a thing as your flying in the ride
Awesome ride
Awesome
2:35
Katie
Fart
Fake 3d
& well done!
The flying part could be much cooler if they found a way to tilt the vehicle completely forward and backward, and maybe to add a stronger wind.
I actually really miss the ost used on this ride before they updated it :(
Hands down favorite ride at Universal. Kong follows. Simpsons is also great. People give Universal way too much heat for screen rides but this is what I love about Universal. I don't want to ride the Hulk anymore I'm too chicken now 🤣.
This ride actually inspired other dark rides, like Transformers: The Ride: 3D, for example. But there’s one huge and cool difference between the two dark rides. In Transformers: The Ride: 3D, when you’re driving on the streets with Optimus Prime, the real life room is actually an elevator, so you’ll be going up. And when you’re falling off of a building where you were, the other elevator room where you’re in that scene where you’re falling goes down to the ground. In The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, when you’re flying up in the air, and then you’re falling down from the air, there’s no two elevators. Also, this makes no sense at all, because when you ride the 3D Transformers ride, and you’re in the room which is the first elevator that goes up, the up-moving first elevator room in real life doesn’t match with the scene on the 3D projection screen where you’re driving so fast, watching Optimus Prime pinning Megatron down to the street road, and that scene doesn’t show you going up, you’re just going forward. Why? Maybe Universal ran out of story ideas for the riding part of the Transformers attraction. I even think that The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man was the first 3D dark ride ever built.
What be cool is that since now almost everything is now being based on the movies, Why not make this ride based on the movies with tobey like make a lil story have green goblin as the villian mesh it up to have doc oc within the same lab as goblin, Have sandman threaten to have all of nyc burried in sand, And have venom in the construction site but that would be his nest with lil symbiotes spawning sorta like web of shadows. Like if you agree this ride should be modified from the movies
@killahfromanilla actually it is becuse you sit in a simulator car that moves on a track and that is how it is similar. Bcause i know the simultators like star tours, wild artic etc. move and the car is staionary.
@maxwellsmart2000 Well, spider man was comic first, movie second. I would much rather have all these villains that weren't in the movies be in the ride, because the Spiderman movies had a very bland selection of villains, but THIS ride has Electro, Scream, and Hydroman. Plus, that would be wayyyyyyy too much work. Like it would ruin the ride and be nothing like the original material.
Takes me to 2005, I was born. To this day I rode it ever since
they are using these techniques to make harry potter and the forbidden journey.
And the car when it revs its just satisfying how it sounds
I wish I could go and ride it but I'm dirt poor
Great video. Definitely answered some questions I had about the ride.
@lightningwu
nope. this still is the best ride
@flboy1982 lol, till Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ^_^
this ride is just like indiana Jones at DISNEYLAND
This ride made me so damn sick
1:35 this guy looks like Messi
@karl1128 in orlando, florida, USA
I always wanted to know the technology of this ride.
@WDI2008 pull on any contract renewel what thats means?
we got stuck and saw this
I love this ride!!! and i can't wait for the refurbish in march of 2012!!
I want to try that one
If only it were legal to marry a ride.........
This is how the transformers ride will be in hollywood
Where is Islands of Adventure ?
Notice he mentions the Back To The Future Ride. New BTTF Ride in 2015 anyone?
mr2nut123 6 years late but the back to the future ride was taken out of islands of adventures a little after this was made
what program is this clip from? It aired on USA and travel channel in 2002...??
+Willy T read the description
Trumpet the fucking Dinopup ! Your dino paw ftw
I have a question I’m a very scared rider and I was wondering if this had any drops on it
Not real drops, it’s simulated on the screen but it feels like your dropping. So in short you will feel the scary dropping sensation you don’t like
yes acttually it is juxt
awsome vid mate! i love this ride :)
T2 is not a ride.
Nic Vid
True.
Meanwhile Disney has owned Marvel for 10 years and all they’ve managed to do is retheme Tower of Terror.
And a retheme of toy story mania I mean people are only going there cause it's avengers and tom holland but take that away its just underwhelming they could do so much like with star wars and pandora but nope A arcade ride rather than a immersive one
@@theraginghouse Star Tours is 6x the Star Wars theme park Galaxy’s Edge could ever hope to be. And it’s ONE ride.
@@CdrChaos TRUE
@maxwellsmart2000 No.. that would be stupid. Besides, they are already reanimating the ride in HD.
Amazing ride. I still think the Indiana Jones adventure is slightly better and more innovative.
Liam D'Arcy *was. Most effects from Indiana Jones are gone now..
*cough,cough,Forbidden Journey,cough cough*
Spencer Valdez this is nothing like forbidden journey
