Thank You for this video! It was very informative. That's one of the reasons I use Custom Windows! So many unnecessary (for us) things on windows! There are others, like: Telemetry, it slows down your PC considerably too!

I LOVE YOU. I am so happy I stumbled upon this video. Linus Tech Tips needs to hear about this and popularize this, my FPS went up by 100. I feel like if I just got a new pc. I remember, when I first got my PC I had 400-500+ FPS in range in valorant, but after a while I had only 300. Turns out it was bc of virtualization, as I installed Visual Studio Code for schoolwork, which needed virtualization. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
You know what would also help? If developers actually optimized their games. No, seriously. Computers get faster and faster and devs get lazier and lazier with bloat, thinking the extra memory and stuff will take care of it. Computers are the fastest they've ever been and what's the trending feature people want to use and have supported? Downscaling their game and playing at a lower resolution and masking it with AI upscaling. Computers are really powerful, we should be able to use native resolutions with little to no issues. The fact that expensive RTX supercomputers nowadays sometimes have to go as low as 720p (and again, masking it by upscale it) to get stable framerates is really saddening. That's probably why games are hundreds of GB, because of tons of HUGE, uncompressed textures and high-poly assets that are that way just for the sake of fidelity, even though you could get the exact same results with less. All the shaders, material and model features in game engines that we've had for the past decade or so are specifically-designed so that we don't HAVE to be so extreme with our detail. Like instead of modeling the individual pores of someone's face, using normal maps, smooth shading, and optimized lighting techniques to get the same thing so the computer doesn't have to work as hard. Or instead of dynamically raytracing the entire map, using baked pre-rendered lighting that has everything already calculated ahead of time. That sorta stuff. Forza Horizon 4 is a great example. It's super photorealistic, yet optimized SO well that my mid-range PC can max it with no issues at all. Lighting techniques, models and shaders are detailed yet do it in a way that doesn't melt your computer by using as many efficient techniques as possible and getting rid of any unnecessary bloat. Meanwhile some games today are equal in visual quality, or sometimes even worse, yet run like hot garbage because everything's so unnecessarily computational.
Virtualization based security has always hindered fps but it has gotten better. It used to be a lot worse. However, VBS has significantly improved the security of the OS. Hopefully, they will get it even closer with newer versions.
WOW! Thank you!!! Immediate difference noticed! EDIT: Just wanted to add that I saw the difference in the funniest things - like Mafia 2 running better, Quake 4 running better. Things like Doom 2016 already ran like butter on my system, but older games seemed to really draw differently from the gpu/cpu, very interesting!
Interesting find, I wonder how this setting may impact the performance of some VR games, like VRChat, since that one is especially heavy on the CPU in some worlds.

I am going to try this later. I am getting nasty stutter whenever I teleport to another area in Genshin with my 5700X3D. I wish I left my PC on Windows 10. The stutter I get after the upgrade is annoying.
@@AncientGameplays I desperately need a clean install. I initially installed Windows 10 on this machine in January 2020. Since then, I kept updating, ran the Windows 11 update back about a month ago, and have changed the GPU twice, changed the CPU a month ago, and on my third monitor upgrade since then. The Samsung 970 EVO nvme is still giving me the same speeds in CrystalMark as it gave me when it was new and the Samsung Magician software shows it is in good health with good temps. Waiting for my GPU to come back from an RMA I have sent it out for.
I always disable anything Windows Defender related whenever I install Windows, exactly because of this. You never know what kind of setting is enabled for absolutely no reason which can affect gaming performance or the performance of your entire PC in some cases. I usually never get any malware so I don't need any anti-virus.
Much the same here, the most I use is 1.1.1.2 DNS resolving, because it blocks mal sites, and a firewall using portmaster. Can't get viruses if the places that have them are blocked, along with me just not being an idiot when downloading, clicking, or visiting sites. Plus portmaster blocks specific CDNs of common sites, programs, etc. So it's good for being a system wide adblock. (and when not on windows, well then nobara linux be doing the job just fine) (as for windows changing your settings and such, id recommend checking out christitustech and his windows debloat program, as well as O&O shut up to get windows to stop calling home and making changes so often) Yeah doing all these little config changes is why I barely touch windows now, too much work.
I wouldn't say it's enabled for absolutely no reason. What core isolation does is that it divides important processes in the PC's memory. Now where this plays a big part is in security, by isolating important pc memory processes malicious code has harder time spreading through your pc. Good security is like a good psu, you don't want to skip on it. I'd say that a small performance hit is always better than having your PC being infected as hackers have been getting quite creative and the issues may be coming from things you can't quite affect or expect, like the case with Apex Legends getting hacked and spreading malware.
@@DrunkenJoeh If you want security, use virtual machines on Linux and isolate your gaming environment from anything else. But that's not feasible for most people because of their specs. My point is, Windows has absolutely nothing to do with security. Malware can easily get past Windows Defender, and even with Core Isolation turned on, you can't do anything about it. I have done some RAT work myself and I can get past most AVs lmao. A digital signature is enough to stop the AVs from raising suspicion, and a RAT done properly that uses exploits to leverage permissions will be unstoppable by Defender. TL;DR, all Windows does is slow down your PC for the sake of saying it's protecting your PC. Sure it may protect you from regular malware, but that's the user's fault and if you're smart about the sources you download from and what you run on your computer, you don't need any protection. What we need protection from is exploits. Those need patches done by Microsoft, not Windows Defender or Core Isolation.

and let me thank you again before this option i couldenot OC my gpu more than 2740 mhz and the pc crash .. now i tried 2800hz it works like butter ,, idk if all this change is possible from this simple option but it worked for me
Fabio never leaves a tiny bit of performance tweak, always gotta let us know. What a boss
I have never heard of this setting, amazing work.
All these big big tech channels with so many employees and no mention on this topic, if they tested it, I didn't catch it.
thanks moist critical! this helped!
subscribed because of the solid not-well known fps tweak- disabled memory integrity thank you!
Lay an eye on my video section ;)
Europe tech Jesus, thanks for the video, great work :D Eres un Grande :D
Thanks! Abraço
i redownloaded a game to play with friends and i was suddenly shocked when my fps was significantly lower using the same settings. finally figured out the issue through this video
0:03 the flash whipping eggs 😂
Thank You for this video! It was very informative. That's one of the reasons I use Custom Windows! So many unnecessary (for us) things on windows! There are others, like: Telemetry, it slows down your PC considerably too!
Perfect video to come out as im puttin together my 7800x3d build lol! Good video as always
great haha
Man as soon as I heard that virtualization needed to be off I knew I was fucked since I often work with VMs, but if this actually works even by keeping virtualization on you are a hero
it does
I missed a graph comparing synthetic benchmarks, like CineBench, for example.
I'm going to try out your tip in a game I play a lot and which has a huge CPU bottleneck, which is Squad.
Anyway, excellent video as always, Fábio!
Thanks over 20 fps more on Destiny 2 13700f with Nvidia 4070. You gain a new sub.
Great!
When your favorite UA-camr uploads on your lunch break 😎
That's great hahaha, thanks!
Will try it. I run MSFS exclusively. No other games, and a gaming pc only. As we know, msfs is BRUTAL on pc systems.
Thanks for the info! Was excited to see if I could squeeze anything out my rig, but had it off already xD Might tinker with it later when I have time just to see if I perform worse with off.
Will add this to my win optimization routine. Since I have a gaming dedicated rig, I don't care about security. 😜
Thanks for another helpful video.
I used to know every little setting when I worked in IT but not anymore so it's always fun to learn these things again.
Checked in windows and it couldn't open the page and i assume that means it's off in the BIOS and i actually am still pretty good. lol
Yeah, that's it exactly, you're good haha
Nice tip dude! Gonna try it with my 9900K/1080 combo.
This sounds fantastic! But I'm not near my computer and I will probably forget about this so I'm just leaving this here as a reminder. Hi, future me!
What a legend!! This helped massively!!
Ótima dica Fábio!
Você é o melhor 🤜🤛
Thank you man! I have directly. Incraese from 115fps to 143 fps in diablo 4;/ in 1440p
Meanwhile some games today are equal in visual quality, or sometimes even worse, yet run like hot garbage because everything's so unnecessarily computational.
well said.
Virtualization based security has always hindered fps but it has gotten better. It used to be a lot worse. However, VBS has significantly improved the security of the OS. Hopefully, they will get it even closer with newer versions.
Mine was already off.
Good to know in any case.
Cheers mate!
I did the same thing when Vondel was brand new on the 13900K and can confirm that it gave back about 20 FPS in that title
I can't believe how big the difference is in some games, wow, great video
Indeed, and in some builds might be even more
Thank you as well
Thank you so much ❤ brother it's very helpful
dude thank you so much, this provided smoother gameplay and looks even better thank you!
Great!
Interesting find, I wonder how this setting may impact the performance of some VR games, like VRChat, since that one is especially heavy on the CPU in some worlds.
This is something I wonder too. How much of a difference will this make in VRChat in VR (along with other VR games)
Are you Italian? I allways watch your videos since i built my pc in march 2023 with AMD components and you never disappoint, sei un grande
It hurts my soul to see dents in the dust caps of the speakers in the background…
Chill
@@AncientGameplays I could give you instructions on how to remove dents from your dust caps.
@@AncientGameplays wdym chill? He's true
Ryzen 9 5900X + RTX 4080 Super I noticed a HUGE change in FPS. Thanks!
Day 1 of asking if you are Jesus
Looks like Jesus, sounds like Chrstoph Waltz. A damn good mix IMO!
He's just an AMD and tech pro 🗣️🔥God is God, ancient gameplays is ancient gameplays.
AMD Jesus
No way bro ancient is my god u suck 😂
You do know where Jesus was born right, Jesus wouldn't be white. He'd be black or brown. But the mainstream Catholic way he's depicted, yeah, you're spot on
Thank you soo much. I forgot about this setting and it was affecting me
Niiiiiice!!!!!! Good find!
Mine core isolation is already disabled when I checked, which is sad news 🤣
Well, actually good ones haha
Shared this with my gaming squad. Thank you 🎉
Core isolation page not available on my 5800X3D!!!Is there something wrong?
It means you have virtualization disabled on BIOS and are already at the max FPS you can get, which is GOOD!
@@AncientGameplays Same for mine, glad to know my 5800X3D is being pushed to the max properly. As always, great vid Fabio!
@@SpainSpace Thank you!
@@AncientGameplays Thank you, man! You're the best!!!
Yup on regular 5800X it's also off by default.
Nice to see someone actually benchmark this setting.
ThioJoe did it long ago
Okay now that's a huge discovering
Nah, just something I needed to share
@@AncientGameplays I mean, this performance increase can be massive, it's a big deal for budget gamers !
You know what else is huge, your mom
Never clicked on a setting so fast! Thank you Computer Jesus! 🙏
I am going to try this later. I am getting nasty stutter whenever I teleport to another area in Genshin with my 5700X3D. I wish I left my PC on Windows 10. The stutter I get after the upgrade is annoying.
If you haven't clean installed windows you should. Also, check your hard drives
I found this feature a while ago. Logitech keyboard, camera and mouse drivers were preventing Core Isolation from turning on.
Good
Miss the result with 7800X3D 😢
True, but didn't have it on the PC right now
Appreciate your work man, Your channel is my go to when it comes to things like this
Dang it mine was already off😢
thanks for bringin this to our attention.
top demais, mano!
Obrigado, um abraço!
That's something i suspected but never checked thanks for the informative video. My pc was with virtualisation enabled by default... 😂
I always disable anything Windows Defender related whenever I install Windows, exactly because of this. You never know what kind of setting is enabled for absolutely no reason which can affect gaming performance or the performance of your entire PC in some cases. I usually never get any malware so I don't need any anti-virus.
Yeah but even then, it will enable this shit sometimes
@@AncientGameplays Haha yeah. I wish Microsoft would stop enforcing this kind of stuff by default.
Jesus be praised
Another great informative video my good sir ✊🥳🥰👍.
I had this feature turned off on my AM5 system the moment I got put my new build together as ‘core isolation’ - off, has seen some massive improvements in sone games …. As shown here at 1440p resolution you can at times get upwards of 10%+🥳🤩which is free performance!
Nice!
>Slower CPU
>tests a 12600K👍
12600K is slower, actually it isn't even that fast compared to lower end CPUs nowadays like the 5700X3D
id say its a slower cpu as well
@@AncientGameplays my bad i miss understood it
Interesting, I will have to remember to test this any time I have lower than expected framerates.
Jesus Christ of technology 😂😂❤
Welcome to my channel haha
@@AncientGameplays My pleasure
I have Intel and virtualization is disabled by default on bios. And I was thinking that I would gain a few more fps in MSFS... 🙄🙄 Nice video
