A boat ride attraction with medieval scenes,we saw the Dragon but he had lost his voice.

This ride absolutely TERRIFIED me as a kid! and 10 years later i still get anxiety watching it 🤣x
As a kid I really enjoyed this ride, it had an odd sense of nostalgic love to it - similar to the one for Pirate Adventure or parks like Blackpool.
Looking at it now, it had a lot of negative space which works with a relaxing boat ride, but I always get the impression that this could have had so much more story / scenes.
Fun fact, the boats went to auction earlier this year at the park but none were sold. They are still in the park :)

This ride broke down once when I was on it and ever since I’ve had a major anxiety with water animatronics aha watching it is triggering me but I love freaking myself out..
How did they rescue you?!
@@np5388 For some reason I'm back at this video 🤣 luckily the ride booted back up again and the boats started moving !
Pretty impressive honestly. I love that Dragon animatronic and the detail on it moving its hands along the wall as if it's trying to keep up with the boat. That's cleaver.
This is where I discovered my Submechanophobia. I remember just looking at the statues in the water and moving as close to my mum as possible 😂
I was on the ride when this broke down in 2009, they had to get speedboats out to get everyone back onto land, funny thing is as soon as we got on the speed boat , that also broke down! But they got it to work on the end, I've shared that it hasnt been properly running since then!
Looks like a lot of effects weren't working. I remember the Dragon pulling the boat spoke more and there was a fireball effect inside the tunnel
i went on that and cried the whole time cause u was so scared of the animatronics in the water
lol
I remember the bit where the Father dragon wakes up in the tunnel (unfortunately you didnt capture it) and it made me jump so much, I've never forgotten it hahaha and I really want to ride it again because .. well idk why, but its closed now right?

They are opening it one last time at Christmas, completely remade and re-themed.

this used to be my favourite ride until it became santas grotto

Sort of reminds me of the Jurassic Park ride. Used to be something brilliant but over the years has became clanky and stopped working.
Yea they didn't maintain it enough-The last year of it which was a shame

I REMEBER when I was 5 or 4 and I LOVED this ride and the story! I still remeber the story now but it kept on pausing and breaking down. There a new ride there called The Kight Before Christmas and its kinda the same but a story about Christmas and only opens around Christmas! If they could fix the ride why only open it on Christmas?

Alton Towers opens on the 24th of march with a new thrill ride, Nemesis : Sub-Terra, are you planning to go an see it. Luckily, me an my family go at the start of april so I might get to ride it.
Saw this on a list for Submechanophobia.
I used to work on this =( can't believe its gone but....it has been transformed into something better!!! =D
I'm so sad they closed it :( It was my favourite ride!

@BellaMissTrix hopefully I'll do some good visits this year.Looks like on sub terra you might walk onto the drop and fall through ...should be good.

To the right of that moving dragon wasn't there like a big Dragon aswell?
They kept the big castle tower even though it bwoke and is now closed I am hoping for a new coaster on that lake
The castle is used at Christmas Cruz it where Santa is xx I only know this Cruz my brother works there
Chloe Bristoll so there is a use for that tower which i had no clue what it is there for
Is this ride still around? Im going to Drayton Manor with family soon and I'm gonna do a solo ride of each of the rides I like the look of

I LOVE this ride...!!!! It's just so awesomely awkward. What about you mesmo? Did you sit there awkwardly?
This ride was closed down. Due to the communication failure with the audio sensors on the boats ( hence no music or voices) and the constant maintenance of whole ride. This ride was brilliant when it first oppend. Shame.
