Interesting fact about Brum, the car. It was created by Tim Hunkin and Rex Garrod that also in the early 90s create a documentary series called Secret Life Of Machines, some of which are on UA-cam. I recommend watching what you can find. There is a segment about the radio control system on brum the car. :)

Theme Park Callum 2016 The Haunting was refurbished in 2016. James and the Red Balloon was opened in 2017 at Thomas Land. Splash Canyon was closed in 2017, Chairlift and Big Wheel got taken away in 2017 because they were so closed, G-force got closed down in 2018.
Great vid, however missed a whole piece of Draytons history out. Soundstage theatre was added in 2000 that housed the Popeye show for 2 years and then housed several very popular circus shows. There was also a circus big top for several years that housed large scale circus shows featuring international artists. Magical Christmas and the castle of dreams is also worth a mention.
I went to Drayton manor back in 2009 and I never got the chance to ride it. But I was very young back then and we only really stuck to Thomas land which had only opened the previous year.
@@LokiAvivson The closure of G force is screaming for a new coaster, and the fact that I heard that Smaller coasters were being put in the area where G force was (even though its in the area where Shockwave and Maelstrom reside) is a big let down...
Well pirate adventure was closed for maintenance and I have heard it is being moved but I think they will remove it from the park. Pandemonium is closed because they can't find the right part at the moment to get it working again but when they do hopefully it will re open. Stormforce ten is closed for maintenance and a re paint because it hasn't been done up for over ten years! 😱😱 And splash canyon is obviously closed because of the incident that happened with the girl who stood up to change seats whilst the ride was going then fell off and drowned. The ride was completely safe the girl just shouldn't have stood up. I loved the sombreros so much then it got closed down I was so sad. But it's so weird to see some rides I have personally been on and now they have gone. Then I look at the year and think wow that was really a couple of years ago! Shocking😱 Great video 😁
I genuinely couldn't swear to it but that looks like my dad in the splash canyon ride! I used to go there every year for my birthday. Great video, it brings back lots of memories.
Drayton Manor was my go to theme park in my early years of growing up in the midlands. It was only about 20 minutes or so drive from where I lived in Castle Bromwich. Living in Devon since 94, in the last 5 years I have revisited the old park with my wife and step son. My step son had never experienced a theme park with half decent rollercoasters. He was use to Devon parks like Crealy and Cornwall’s Flambards, both very very tame and less thrill rides more family park fun. He loved both visits to Drayton Manor and we now prepare our first trip for the both of us to the UK Coaster Capitol that is Thorpe Park in September. Drayton Manor is a great place but it really could do with a couple of big, high speed coasters to at least make a noise towards the bigger theme parks in the Uk. Drayton Manor, if I’m right, has enough land to put together two absolute stonking coasters!
I remember my mom used to take me as a kid. I used to love the tea cups, dragon rollercoaster, big slide, buffalo rollercoaster, snake train, and the Jungle Cruise ride! Also what was the New Orleans boat ride?
Nice video - I seem to remember a Jungle Cruise before Excalibur. It’s a shame the lake there is no longer used for a ride. I can only imagine the trouble they have maintaining the animatronics and such though!
Great vid been waiting for this, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one I'm looking forward too! Realise it might not be too soon as the history predates 1900😂

I think Pirates Adventure will re-open. When I was there last, about April, it just said closed for maintenance so it doesn't seem like they want to close it. As for a new coaster? I don't believe we will. I love Drayton Manor as it's my local theme park, but I just don't think they really care too much about teens and adults. They could do with replacing the Buffalo coaster with a Maurer Söhne spinning coaster. One like Spinball Whizzer would be great.
I think it will reopen as well, it is a big ride after all. a spinning coaster would be lovely or just any rollercoaster replacement to the Buffalo would be nice to see!
I agree; whilst the Buffalo is a nice ride for the kids, they have the whole of Thomas Land to satisfy them. For us coaster enthusiasts, we only have Shockwave, G-Force and Ben 10 (which is a kid's ride, yes, but a bloody good one!). A nice coaster to replace the Buffalo is just what's needed for some friendly competition with Alton Towers. Even if Drayton Manor will probably never have as many thrill coasters as the Towers.
