    Nice work! Not sure if you've seen it, but Matt Johnson of Jamiroquai (granted, he wasn't the keyboard player when this was written) puts up a bunch of videos on UA-cam. Seems like an awesome guy!
    Looking forward to giving this one a go, an utter classic!

      He definitely is. Different spirit from Toby Smith but still providing an awesome sound to their music.

    Great lesson - you're picking some great tunes to have a go at. I always loved this song, with this killer piano riff at the start. Love the sound of that piano too - sounds perfect!

    10:37 The original is from Toby Smith! He passed away 7 years ago sadly. He was the mind behind these amazing chord progressions in the beginning of the band. Matt joined in 2001

    Thank you for doing these videos. Really hard to find tutorials that are actually accurate. I also just watched your "pop strings" video with Rick Beato. Very cool that you guys are friends.

    I’m 34, so a 90s kid but I love boomer music. I can play some piano and this channel is awesome because of the lessons like this with some of my favorite songs, I already have a huge list to learn and you always keep dropping another one to add to it :d

      We are the same age. All of the “boomer music” is the most interesting from the standpoint of a rhythm section player. These classic songs have more to work with than anything being produced in 2024!

    Great tutorial! Is there anyway you could post the sheet music for this ? Or at least the chord progression? Would be super helpful. Having to pause , rewind, play the video over and over is a little tedious to try and write down what you’re playing. Thanks

    • @pierrejpiscitelli
      @pierrejpiscitelli  4 місяці тому +1

      I might consider, but my thinking was always that if someone can read music, they don’t need this tutorial, which teaches by rote. I guess some like both?

    • @richardolivieri2216
      @richardolivieri2216 4 місяці тому

      @@pierrejpiscitelli The advantage of having the sheet music and a tutorial like this is you can work on it little by little using the sheet music to figure out what keys to play and refer to the video for the feel of how it should be played. In many of the method books there is an audio accompaniment which gives you a reference of how it should sound in addition to the sheet music on paper.
