    UPDATE 3/7/2021: Zero issues..put it up and down daily and still works great. For the money, this is such a great buy (my total was $260.00 for mount with tax). I paid $99.00 for the monoprice mount (black friday deal). Monoprice is great for lowering the viewing height of tv but you need to do it manually AND when it is all the way down you can see the mount and my jacks for cables.
    The big limiting factor with installation is the requirement for 16” on center stud spacing, the other limitations include weight of tv (77 lbs max…mine was 40.5 lbs), and size of TV (37”-70”…mine was a 65”). Please feel free to ask any questions you have in the comment section. Thank you for watching!

    Thanks for the overview. How loud is it when it's motor is running? Also, is there a manual option if, for example, the power goes out and you want to put it in the up position?

      Motor is super quiet. Read “reviews” on amazon...from what i remember it is stuck without power. Although there has got to be a release if it gets stuck so you could put it back up

      I would think so, as long as it fits the plate it will hang on. I have a 65” and it’s pretty close on each end so I’d check it, if you don’t already have it figured out after 4 months.

    I understand your TV has to be 8 inches above the fireplace mantel. With that being said, when the TV is all the way up, what is the distance from bottom of mount to top of TV?

    • @how2q
      @how2q  4 місяці тому

      Sorry for the delayed response… The beauty of this mount, At least in my situation, is that it is “invisible” behind the tv when it is up. So the answer to your question: whatever the height of your TV is add 8 inches and that is how high it will be

    Can you manually move the mount up/down in case if the motor dies?

    • @how2q
      @how2q  2 роки тому

      I believe that is the one big critique…from my experience you cannot move it manually. I have now had this over a year with zero problems. A manual override would be nice.

  • @fwfrazorx
    @fwfrazorx Рік тому

    Thanks for the videos. I have the MI-386 also, and I’m trying to figure out how to tilt it, can it be tilted more? It has some tilt but the bottom of our TV is about 6’ off the floor, when in the raised position. We have a raised hearth so think it increased the height. I don’t see how it can tilt just by looking at it. It has an odd looking screw that seems out of place, so may mess with it but I don’t see how it could tilt further. Other than tilting, I love it. Any tips is greatly appreciated. It’s still not that bad but tilting would be a home run for the mount. A manual override would be a great addition also. Thanks

    • @how2q
      @how2q  Рік тому +1

      I agree on option to tilt (or lack there of). I don’t believe you can. I see your point about the option to view while it is it in the app position. It would be nice. mine spends about 90% of the time it down. Still works great after two years.

      @@how2q Thanks you for the quick reply. That’s good to hear. I keep seeing peeps saying theirs isn’t working but so far no issues. I went w the 65” as it was much lighter than the 70” I was looking at. Not being able to tilt isn’t a deal breaker and though less than perfect, when down is still much easier on the neck lol.

    Is there a minimum height required from the mantle to the ceiling? Let's say TV height with soundbar (assuming its attached to bottom of TV with brackets) is 30.5 inches and mantle width is 8 inches and the space above fireplace to the ceiling is only 32inches. Will it fit and have enough clearance to come down?

    • @how2q
      @how2q  2 роки тому +1

      Luckily this goes out and down. On a standard 8 ft wall height you will be fine. There is a soundbar attachment you can consider (link in video description). I have had this over a year and still works great

    • @how2q

      TV’s above fireplace’s are typically set too high. This allows you to electronically bring that viewing height down to what it should be. I love it

    Can't use this mount if you don't have any studs to drill into?

    • @how2q
      @how2q  4 місяці тому

      Unfortunately that is true. It’s pretty specific to have studs 16 inches apart. An option would be to put a 3/4” piece of wood between two studs and mount. Paint wood same color as wall
