From my experience it’s all about a few crucial words or phrases that win or lose a claim. That’s why claims personnel know these crucial words and have a lot of success!

yup. I figured this out on my own luckily and began creating similar types of statements. From 2 pages to 2 paragraphs. I still have my statements and help others after I won several MAX ratings that other's said would be TOO hard. You have to Tee it up before swinging, even if it takes a few months.

Have the rater work WITH you, not against you. Not just on claims, but in life. That's how you "sell yourself". Love the video.
100% true. My and buddy statements are never more than 10 bullets stating impact, sev, freq to work then home life with keywords.

So my DBQ was written as I suffered stressors and injuries leading to severe depression disorder. So basically, according to your analogy I should be writing two lay statements, one explaining the stressors from deployment and the other to injuries that I occurred causing back surgery and the depression and disabilities

For the veteran (my) statement, which form should I use, cause there are two. 21-10210 or 21-4138? And which should someone else use?

Hi. Yes. You can do a quick upload online. Definitely do take a copy (and the rest of your claim!) to your C&P to offer it to your examiner, as well. You can use either form. The 10210 is more current. I used that but my VSO made me change over to the 4138. So... interchangeable?

You are likely going to want add current treatment and nexus letters into the mix

So my wife is rated at 80% disability but getting 100% for unemployability. She's getting full medical care and pay (with spouse). So my question is... is she at 100% or does she need to file to upgrade? Who do I contact to find out? Am I eligible for CHAMP-VA?
She should have a counselor she can call at the VA facility she goes to
She is 80%, when you get unemployment they pay you 100%
