      Great information! I help vets from here in the Philippines. Since we have the ONLY VA outside the USA in Manila, our doctors issue Nexus/DBQs for $300. Much better than the USA prices. And we are winning with these Docs everyday. So many forgotten soldiers living abroad. So few people to help them.

    I have so many issues that were secondary to what VA has me rated at. They don't like to tell you anything that is secondary to my main diagnosis. I recently applied for secondary conditions and wish I could have claimed more because I have a lot more verifiable secondary conditions but for a non-medical person I have to figure them out for myself.

      There's nothing in the VA regulations that states VBA has to inform the vet of what they can claim secondary to a service-connected condition. Why not get a private doctor to do a DBQ and nexus. You will need both.

    Why won't the VA regional offices approve claims with solid and relevant medical evidence from medical doctors whose specialties are specific to a claim? They only consider the opinion of a nurse practioner from a c&p exam.

    • @DewayneKimble
      @DewayneKimble  2 роки тому +1

      It's not the regional office, it's only a few RVSR's whom which complete the rating decisions. It's not all of them but some and why is a good question.

    I guess I am missing the entire point of this video. You are showing areas of DBQs that need to be filled out for conditions (radiculopothy) and these boxes need to be checked and submitted by health care providers. Wouldn’t that actually be the “nexus?” Stating in the DBQ itself that the sciatica is directly related to the lower back?? Isn’t THAT a nexus?

    In my initial decision (2009) I was granted 10% for chronic Low back pain, with a secondary claim for sciatica Neuritis. I went before a PEB while I was still in and they diagnosed me with low back strain, chronic low back pain and segmental dysfunction (all under one,) as well as sciatica neuritis. but denied my secondary claim even with a diagnosis. Technically I was still in and was medically separated with that diagnosis. and yet their decision to deny was that I didn't have a current diagnosis. I didn't learn about this until recently when i looked up my decision letter online.

    I just received my service connection for my back (DDD, radiculopathy in both legs).
    Do I need to wait 5 years to claim secondary conditions for my knees/neck so that my approved SC back condition is static?

      I didn’t know if I needed to wait til my primary condition was “static” or not. Didn’t want to risk getting reduced since my primary condition was just awarded.

    Can I please ask a question? Do the medical exams have to be probity by a VA doctor or can you just use your private primary care doctor?

      Your private doctor can complete your own DBQ.

    I am currently at 80% I had spinal surgery on my lower lumbar. I recently applied for compensation for nerve damage and was denied even though they said it was probably from the back surgery. Can i refile for radiculopathy, and do i need to go get a diagnosis first or would having the back injury cover that? I just need help because i feel the system screws me everytime.

      Where does it fall under the 5 ways of service connection. If you had the surgery at the VA, that does not mean you can get service-connected for it. After you received a copy of the C & P exam, what was the reason the doctor said no. @@DewayneKimble I had the surgery when I was on active duty, I would have to find the the paperwork to see what all it says. I am wanting to refile to try to get to 100% but was looking for guidance on best course of action.
