What pisses me off is the VA will deny your doctor's opinion or a paid NP's opinion who reviewed your medical file and case saying that it not your regular doctor.
But yet, a C&P examiner who examine you one time holds more weigh than a physician or specialist who has been in practice for 25 plus years, or a paid NP with the same credentials as a C&P examiner who reviewed your entire medical file and peer reviewed evidence. IT'S UNJUST and makes no sense. Geez!

I just looked at what you charge for your service and I have to say that was a breath of fresh air. You’re unfortunately not wrong when you say other people will charge you $15,000. I called “VA claims insider” after getting their adds for over a year and they charge 6x whatever they increase you. I told them as politely as I could to go fuck themselves.

My doctors have refused to write me one. She said it’s not needed as long as there’s a good paper trail from treatment. It seems pretty clear cut (to me and DAV) that my knee problem has played a big role in lower back issues. Hoping it works out.

It's hard to find a doctor in some states for a nexus letter so you have to go where you can get one, the VA will not help, so you have to do what you have to do, but I do agree about using the right Doctor.

So the VA used a nurse practitioner over 1000 miles away to do an ACE exam and deny my claim. Why can’t I use an MD that uses the same records to write a way more detailed opinion letter ?

I was denied in 1996 for my back and tinnitus and planned to claim again in the future.. in August I put in a claim for ptsd and a couple other things.. well last I got an email telling me I have two medical exams one for my back the other for tinnitus.. has this happened to anyone else ?? is it possible they reopened on their own ??

What do you do if the doctor refuses to write a nexus. I’m trying so hard to get migraines secondary to my spinal injury I am already service connected for and my doctor refuses to write a nexus regardless of my migraine logs I have and all the flares I get that cause my migraines because of my back conditions she still refuses to write one because she states she didn’t treat me prior to service ??? So she can’t make medical opinions since she didn’t know me prior ? I went to other doctors as well they will either say they don’t do nexus letters or refuse to put the time in to make one even if I offer to compensate their time. it really ridiculous how doctors refuse to help patients anymore. I’m not sure what to do anymore?

Yeah, it can be hard to get a private nexus depending on how bad your condition is and where you live. I've actually had an easy time getting them from multiple doctors, but that's because my conditions are really serious and I haven't been able to work for years because of them and am on Medicaid, to the point where the doctors feel sorry for me and have offered to help or did it when I asked. But I know other vets in my area that had less serious conditions get turned down by the same doctors, mainly because if it's not super clear cut, these doctors didn't want to risk being accused of helping veterans who might be accused of "malingering" by the VA. So they only write letters for "sure things" that won't expose them to accusations or threats to their medical licenses. What's the best way to get around this in my opinion? BE PATIENT. In other words, see your doctor or doctors for years for your legitimate condition and get everything documented. AFTER 2-3 years, THAT'S when you ask them for their help, assuming you have a good relationship with them. But if your condition is legit but not super serious, just asking a doctor you have no relationship with to write a nexus letter will result in rejection unless you are extremely lucky.

To add to my first reply, for your specific case, in the eyes of most doctors, it's easy to fake migraines because they can't directly see it on a scan or x-ray, which would make them feel more confident about writing a nexus letter for. The best way in your case would just to see VA primary and specialist for a year or two, get everything documented, and take the meds they prescribe for you for it. THEN apply. But not before. It sounds like you are putting the cart before the horse where you're not building a case for your migraines medically, but instead, are only going for a nexus letter instead.

If the doctor reviewed the records that's all that should matter. I can read, you can read. Which mean if I can read through what the veterans treatment has been and write a nexus. They shoudn't be denying it. The real issue is VA Doctors should have to write them if asked. More of a scam by the VA.. idk why there is 22 day, whatever could the reasons be
