Does any one of you have seen if it is possible to put a thin piece of aluminum flashing on the leading edge? I believe that it will truly increase rigidity & add much more toughness!!

    Hi, realy nice work. Congratulation!
Do you still fly this bird? How did you find that the CG is right at the proposed 4,4cm from the motor mount? And what about the deflection? Is it realy 12°?
Because I've just finished a FT Mini Arrow.
CG is set to 44mm from the firewall, I set the 12° deflection as it was
in the build instruction. During the maiden flight I recognised that I
have to pull the elevator because the plane dropped down its nose
(wihout motor too). Now, after the trimming, the deflection is about
20-25°. What is the better way? Leave it as it is, or reset to 12° and
move backwards the battery (eg. modify the CG)?

Nice job Gil, how much weight does it add please?

      +Dave Webb Thanks Dave.
A 10cmx10cm piece comes in at 2.8g. If you assume 100cmx30cm for the mighty arrow (even though I used MUCH less than that) it would be 84g. My guess is that I used closer to 50g of this material to cover the entire upper side of the arrow.

+gil segev on top o fhtis question .. how much did that slow it down ? this is a tiny wing .... did you see a significant performance drop ? it sure does look good though :)

+Troy Kelley (TK Inspired Aerials) These wings are pretty neat and carry weight well, when you add more weight they seem to just go faster, less weight they become more floaty and act more like a conventional aircraft, more weight they kinda zip around like a rocket, as long as you're not underpowered of course. I wouldn't think 80g would make much of a difference though, and actually I think the paper itself weighs almost that, so if you remove all the paper inside and out like I did on mine you'd be all set. I plan on doing this when I find some cheap thin vinyl.

+Trpratt1 thanks !!! I destroyed my first one and I have 2 more on the way !! I might take one and do what you did here !!! Is that vinyl self adhering ?? Or did you have to use a special spray ??

+Trpratt1 Mine won't fly for some reason :)
The foam board we have here (Israel) if much heavier so balancing it requires a lot of extra weight on the nose. I'll try again but for now it's a dud..

    עבודה יפהפיה, כל הכבוד!
בקשר למשקל של הקאפה הישראלית, אם תקלף את הקרטון תחסוך כשני שליש(!) מהמשקל של הלוח.
