Best MTB Riding in Scotland - Torridon Lollipop Mountain Bike Loop

- Showing you the highlights of the Torridon Lollipop MTB route in the Scottish Highlands (north west coast of Scotland). Snippets of the climbs with some pedalling, hike a bike, pushing and some epic views before the incredible long rocky descents!
Ride starts in Annat and heads up round the back of the hills past a lovely secluded loch towards the first descent over the other side to Achnashellach. From there we spin along the road to Coulags and take a marked path up past a bothy to do the final descent back down to Annat.
This is a big ride and was approx 39km and 1250m of climbing in total. You are in amongst the mountains the whole time (apart from the road section linking the end of the first descent to the path back up). The riding is very technical with boulders, rocks and slabs all the way down the trail. Scottish Mountain biking at its best! You really need to focus and it's easy to lose the front on loose rocks... or put the front into a boulder! It's such an adventure and will leave you grinning from both the descent and the views!
You will want a very good level of fitness as it's a big day out (we were about 6 hours moving time, 8 hours in total). Plenty of places to fill up water around the route but of course lots of food needed as there is nothing on route.
Fully recommend this :) I had done Ben Damph a couple of times before but for me this was 100 times better! Definitely my favourite MTB descent in Scotland or even the UK. When it's open you can always grab food at the Torridon Inn after - you certainly earn it on this route!

Thanks! Yes I was very glad we had no mechanicals or punctures as it would be a very long and slow way back! Increased the tyre pressures a fair bit for it to be safer! 😆

Fair play that's a big day out. I have only ever done the achnashellach descent part of that loop. How long did it take too do the full thing ?
Yeah it was pretty knackering but would do it all over again :). That achnashellach descent was my favourite out the two but both were awesome. The full thing for us was about 6 hours moving time, 8 in total with some sheltering from a heavy shower halfway 👍

@@scotty-sb1403 got it! I found before I started the vlog that I talk to myself a lot normally on the trails hehe. Didn't actually realise sometimes until i watched the footage back! Yeah we're lucky we both took to biking so much - started the same time. Hopefully one day if the channel grows enough I could do that - it's certainly doing way better than I ever imagined!
