For this ride I decided to do one of the best descents in the Torridon area, and one that I'd done before. This time however, I opted to do a completely different climb and subsequent loop that followed in order to get to the top.
I went into the loop thinking that it may just be an easier climb but came away thinking that this is probably one of the best loops that you could choose to get a good feel for what this area has to offer, and without committing to a huge day in the hills.

I'm up there in 2 weeks & hoping to repeat this so thank for sharing the .gpx
Always entertaining Andy keep the Vids coming Pal
Thanks Andrew
Stunner. Great footage as usual. Done a couple of torridons but not that descent…….yet.
Get it to the top of the list then 👍
Awesome video, Brings back some nice memories, we done the 50 k torridon classic on ebikes a few months ago, started at AchnaShellach (so we could get some lunch in torridon and stick my bike on charge for 1 hour ;-) so your last part was the decent we completed and it was awsome. We cycled up the road from torridon to the first hut you were in. Then the rain came and I had 1% battery by the time we made it to the top, no need for a battery from then on out, happy decent. Will be back again next year.
Sounds like an adventure 👍
Some seriously amazing scenery there guys, utterly stunning!
Is incredible isn’t it 😍
Brilliant video of what must have been a great day out in a beautiful part of the country. What weather! Inspirational again guys. Thanks for that.
Cracking day all round 👌
I done this exact loop on the ebike one night when I was working up way recently. It's bloody awesome 👌
Spot on Ruaridh👍
Sounds like you’ve got some pretty big mosquitoes up there! Stunning desolation. Truly amazing. Thanks once again Andrew. Keep em comin!
Knocked it out the park again fella and one of the best Scottish summers I can remember. Keep them vids coming ;-)
Best since 95 I reckon
Fantastic videos, just got back from two weeks in Scotland and your video's were one of the reasons I came and rode.
I also was the guy you saw come down that annat decent on Wednesday last week!
Ah, nice one mate. Glad you had a good time👍
Amazing scenery and riding. Looks like a great day out.
Your videos are the best on YT.
Although I doubt I could ride most of the trails you do.
Keep them coming please.
Thank you very much Rhett😊
fantastic trail, love riding those kinds of trails, amazing
One of the best 👍
Great footage
Thanks
I follow your videos, I love them. this is sheer inspirational shit and I so want to ride this trail.. but not in 29 degrees, respect.
Thanks buddy, would have appreciated some cooler temps for sure.
Agree it’s the best decent of both popular loops and a much easier climb/loop to get to the start of the decent of both! Much better footage than I took on my old hero session 4 😂 love your videos ❤️🏴
Glad I found this one, it’s so much easier to do than some of the other options 👍
You are absolutely blessed with all this on your doorstep… I loved all the stuff you were doing in Europe the other year, but this stuff on your Manor really is a bit special
On the doorstep in a way, but this is over 5 hours travelling for me to get too. I do have some great rides within 2 hours though👍
@@McTrailRider I meant in a Bonnie Scotland kinda doorstep way, 5 hours is a haul… worth it though 👊💥
man, riding in the highlands is such a dream of mine. this track looks exceptionally fun, and you were treated with glorious weather too (i don't mind it being warm)!
Dreams can come true dude 👍
@@McTrailRider truth. 🖤
What a wonderful route Andrew, not very well known, learnt a lot! Stunning hills and fantastic weather. and well done as always 😊! Must have missed you by a day there.
I didn’t know that you could go this way until just recently myself. Maybe not the best route for walking though as it’s just a dirt road for a good distance.
Fabulous backdrops with some of the drone footage 😎
Bet that was a nice cool off at the end, fresh water with nae salt or chlorine 😁
It’s gotta be fresh water, hate swimming in the sea.
This was a belter dude!!! Damn we need to ride this 🤯🙌🔥
Will get you guys on this one soon enough 🤘
Wonderful. I share your frustration with losing height gain but I think my experience was worse. The first time I went to Torridon I rode through from Loch Clare in Glen Torridon and made the mistake of not turning off to the path up to the tea hut bothy. So instead of doing the Achnashellach descent I rode down to Glen Carron the way you climbed up from it. I've been back a few times and got to experience it properly. When I've done the full descent from Coire Lair on my hard tail I feel pretty beat up by the time I get to Achnashellach. Top ride though.
Nightmare mate, I’d probably lose it if I done the same 😤 character building though 😜
That descent was outstanding yesterday, be a different animal in tbe wet
It actually rides much the same in the wet👍
Spectacular descend again 👍
One of the best
Another stunning day & great vid, that descent is superb, a big awesome day out when done as a loop from from Annat, making me want to head back soon.
Is a big old day out on that loop 👍
nice one Andrew, stunning scenery on the climbs and that descent looked great with the slabs and lose rocks....the sound of the bike flying down the trail before you guys went for the swim was full on :) big skills as always mate, great video again!
Thanks dude 😊 The trail sounds were certainly very good on this one 👍
Another video with stunning views, awesome drone footage, long rocky descents, appreciate all the work you put into doing the videos and what you do, good job keep them coming 👍👍
Thanks very much Peter 😊
Hi Andrew, awesome vid!
Yet another beautiful day with stunning views at every turn.
I wish I was riding it with you mate, the trails look amazing!
I'm loving the Tour de Torridon.
Cheers Andrew, thanks for sharing, happy trails mate 👍
Thanks Rob, glad you enjoyed the tour 👍
Amazing video. We were up there in June did the big loop round Loch Clair, achnashellach then the annat descent back to Torridon. Nothing better than that followed by a swim in a highland river as long as the midges aren’t out (is that the classic Torridon midge hand waving at the end by Piers)
Nothing better indeed. It was either midges or fly’s at the end, or both.
Awesome bud!.. Another cracking run!!
Thanks Marty 👍
Amazing views amazing trail 👌🏻👍🏻
👍🤘
Patreon Edit already viewed 👀 but no harm in giving the YT Upload a look in too 👍 Enjoyed the vid, so thanks again.
Nice! Much appreciated Ricardo👍
Aye it doesn’t get much better than that! 👌
No it doesn’t 👍
Yah beauty!
Cheers Alistair
Awsome as usual. Great content.
Thanks buddy
Looks great, like it!
Thanks Kyle
I would love to have a drone but I wish they would make them a lot more quiet. The shots you get with the drone are great.
The noise is never great
Another great video nice one
Thanks Nathan
Can't say it enough but I love these Vids bro. That's was insane but totally fudgin awesome . U make me wanna go try everyone . Dnt think I'd b hauling like u boy's 🤣🤣🤣 . Amazing views 😍
Thanks for the kind words Dizzy 😊
@@McTrailRider my pleasure Buddy . Great stuff ☺️
Love Andrew content as I prefer natural trails rather than bike parks 🚵🏻🏔🏔🤟🏻
Yeah, bikeparks get a bit too similar and predictable. Mountains is where it’s at👍
How about Kenmore to Applecross and back? I think it's my favourite in the area, short on tech but lots of flow back to kenmore, it's a belter ...and there's a pub half way! (For chips obviously 😬 )
Watch this space Patrick, I think I will be hitting said trail in the near future 👍
Great vid, personally prefer the Annat descent as in your last vid, have you tried the Kenmore-Applecross-beach at sands? It's a lovely scenic out and back ride.
I’m aware of it, but yet to do it myself.
Annat for more flow and Achnaseallach for tech. Both amazing!
Spot on 👍
I've walked that descent up and down on numerous occasions. In awe at your ability to ride it on a MTB! I'm guessing it would be painful riding a hardtail?
Can be done on a hardtail, albeit with more impact on the knees.
@@McTrailRider 🤣
Done full 50km loop on e bike few weeks ago .think we climbed up past big bothy up anit then along road and done same section as this video at the end believe it or not its doable on 500watts eco all the way tho
Nice! I did wonder if it could be done on one battery, although not willing to risk it myself😬
Sounds epic... Do you have a strava route for the full loop Pls?
what drone are you using dude ?epic footage im considering getting one
Skydio 2 is what your looking for 👍
Skydio ahh that's a new one on me I used to have a DJI Mavic ,is it 4k ? Looks epic cheers dude keep up the epic vids 🤙👍
Hi, Do you have this route available on Kamoot? Looks amazing.
Just Strava and Trailforks
Torridon was on my list. Thanks mate. But Skye also. What's the best ride on Skye?
I don’t think that there is much on Skye to be honest. A couple of shorter runs and some long but relatively boring routes (for making videos) as well.
@@McTrailRider Waw, twice I was there and had regrets of not biking because of the rain. But if you say this, I reckon Torridon stays on my bucketlist and Skye not.
Phew how b....y good is the views quick question how were trails made first deer..sheep..walkers or cyclist...atb
I’m not totally sure of the origins of these trails in particular. I suspect that they were originally routes to connect villages. Maybe some stalker paths too.
So after using the beastie for more than a wee while now, what's your summary of the drone?
It’s had a couple of glitches here and there, but it’s by far the best option in the world. Nothing comes close.
Have you put your micordiophone in a new position? We can definitely hear a lot more heavy berathing than usual.
Yeah, I mounted it higher up than usual. I’ve since moved it back for obvious reasons.
I’ve looked on google maps to try and find the starting point of this loop, does anyone know the name of the area at the start of the loop where you can park your car etc?
My Strava from the ride is in the description, you should get all the information you need there.
Trialforks led me into private property lol
