- In this week’s review we’re going to take a look at Bad Boys 2 aka Bad Boys Miami Takedown, a third person shooter that was developed by Blitz Games, published by Empire Interactive and was released on the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube in February of 2004.

There's something so inherently satisfying about someone just ripping a bad game to shreds that always makes me smile.
Been downloading and trying every Gamecube game. I stomached this game for 10mins before giving up and searching for a UA-cam review and I'm glad I came across yours. I have now subscribed to you and hope to see some other fantastic reviews of yours in the future.
Admittedly, I have a soft spot for the Bad Boys movies.
Still, this game feels like a hard pass for me.
I think I'll stick with GTA: Vice City or Scarface: The World is Yours.
Why you say it like that as if there is something wrong with liking the bad boys movies?
It's a budget license game from the early 2000's. It's almost guaranteed to suck.

I remember for my birthday my mom got me a 3 pack Walmart bundle of ps2 games. The games being “Th3 Plan” “bad boys Miami takedown” and another bargain bin game that they couldn’t sell. Needless to say we don’t speak anymore.

Dude I swear my mom got me the same thing. I can't remember what the 3rd game was though but I recall this and "Th3 Plan" being unremarkable.

Hey don't laugh. I didn't put a game I wanted for my PS2, I just wanted a new game so this is what I got.
I found it amazing that it's a game about Smith and Lawrence characters, but it does not actually have Smith and Lawrence characters in it.
It's two stand ins.
Very poor cash in, but what did we expect from a movie title?
Movie tie-ins are forever cursed.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the performance; even with such bland visuals, the frame rate looked to have frequently dropped below 30, which makes the game feel bad to play even if the aiming weren’t awful. Speaking of which, I discovered you could turn down the aiming sensitivity in the pause menu and it helped out a lot when I found the right level... but the fact I had do it all to make the game tolerable is the problem.
You're correct, the performance was quite bad, I must've forgot to mention because there were too many other bad things to talk about.
And this is why video games based off of movies are bad. I mean, there a few exceptions (and I do mean a few) of the rule. But still, I am not surprised that this game sucked. It’s sad. If the right developers made this game, then it could’ve been real good. Oh well... Despite this being a bad game, it was an awesome review as always! I cannot wait for your next one.
As a bad boys fan, this one hurt me.
It's amazing this game is so bad when the same developer made the amazing Chicken Run game on Dreamcast, Frogger 2 on PS1, Zapper on PS2 and Glover on the N64. They clearly good make good games and Glover like it or hate it, was pretty unique though Soccor Kid is kinda simlar to be fair.
I can only assume that they didn't have a lot of time and money to put this together.

I liked this game I really did
I always thought this looked like a dull game... Now I know it is! That aiming system looks awful! The fact that the boss just stopped is incredible!
I was in genuine disbelief when it happened and then incredibly frustrated having to start the mission all over again.
@@RetroGameRater I can completely understand that! It amazes me that it wasn't dealt with before launch... But evidently, it was likely a rushed development.
I beat it and used cheat codes with the next play through and it made it even better. Hate the voice acting lol at least find some black guy voices
Loved the first film.... second film was OK.... and I'll avoid this game like the plague! Good vid though.
I'm glad I could prevent someone else from playing it.

It a a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
This game looks embarrassin', if they had the right developers they could've made a proper GTA type game in yhe vein of San Andreas with an open world structure, drivin' vehicles and bein' sent on missions by Captain Howard and the Miami PD. Scarface The World Is Yours pulled that off really well.

The scale never goes that low. Not even for this garbage.
I haven't played it but it looks and sounds fine, I think it's too harsh, you can't expect a AAA type of game based on a movie..
Fair enough, but I would argue that how something looks and how something plays are two different things.

This looks truly terrible, and I'm a Bad Boys fan. You'd think making a BB game wouldn't be too hard!
Also, in that clip you showed of the VOs, I swear the Will Smith doppelganger sounded like Cortez. If it's the same actor...he's white, which is awkward 😂
Yeah, I couldn't quite figure out how to say that in the video, but the voices do sound like white guys doing a black impression.
