    Crisco is good to make it soft, but I do have another favorite that is even better, it is edible glycerin, wow the fondant will be as brand new and very nice🙂

      Yes! This is true…I have photos from yrs ago of black dried out fondant…it was so bad that microwaving (which normally helps) didn’t do a thing.
      Only Wilton glycerin, with its baby oil consistency made it like new again.
      I also use glycerin for fondant going in the extruder…works better than shortening, in my opinion.

      I saw a fondant recipe where she added a 1/2 cup shortening in the recipe. Have you ever tried that?

    Can ypu use the same trick on regular fondant please Karolyn?

      It should help soften any fondant. However, store bought fondant is a different animal, so I'm not sure if it will still wrinkle / crack if you try to save it.
