Thanks SR just ordered some via your link, great video as always 👍
Thanks Simon 🙂
Have had my Oladance for 2 months...the are excellent! purchased due to my dislike of earbuds and bulky over the ear headphones.
Are you still enjoying your Oladance
@@FacelessAssassin24the only problem is that you can’t smell your earwax anymore. So sad
Thank you for the great video. This Alternative is very good. I have another alternative recommendation, which is the Wissonly Hi Runner earphones. Its powerful features, especially the IPX8 waterproof, make it suitable for use in many scenarios, such as running, cycling, swimming, rowing, hiking, and so on.
Thank you - a very good comparison.
I had the Shokz open run and now the open run pro and have now also ordered the Oladance. For me, I see areas of application for both (OpenRun and Oladance). However, I must say: on the subject of charging - yes - the OpenRun use a proprietary charging cable - but in return, the Oladance can also only be charged with the case - so it's more or less the same - with the cable taking up less space than the case.
What I like best about the OpenRun is the lower sound leakage compared to the Oladance - but this is at the expense of the sound quality.
Yeah they are hard to decide between, I’m still rotating between them on runs.
I own both Olandance and OpenRun Pro. The Olandance are amazing. I paid $180 for the OpenRun Pro. When I bought the Olandance I also bought the $50 travel charging case. Its built-in battery recharges the earbuds 5 times. This allows me to use them all day every day for a full week without plugging in. The Olandance buds were $150 so the total was only $20 more than OpenRun Pro for FAR superior sound and no band in back getting in my way. The charging case can be charged with any USB-C cable. I just see the huge upgrade in sound and lack of band in the back us well worth the small price difference.
These do look really interesting/good. I have to agree with you Stephen, the loop round on the Aeropex feels lot more secure possibly. I’d like to hear the quality differences mind you. Great review 👌
I was really surprised by the difference in sound quality!
I recently got the Acreo same concept but less bulky, smaller case that has built in battery, has a button for controls rather than tapping, and the behind ear bar is flexible so snug but comfortable. Only downside is wish styling was bit better :)
They look great. I can't stand not hearing things around me, unless I'm indoors. Think there on my Santa's list for this year. Good review, thanks 👍👍
Thanks, hope Santa brings you what you want 🙂
Got the Shokz recently and music quality isn’t such a big thing for me because I mostly listen to podcasts or videos with a lot of talking like this one. It also worked with my helmet in a trial fit, although I haven’t gone riding with it.
That being said I like to listen to things as part of my morning routine and anything that wraps around my head gets in the way when I’m brushing my hair, which little things but disruptive, so it’s nice to know there are open ear hook alternatives out there!
And thanks for the glasses section!!
Glad the video was useful for you! 🙂
Thank you for your review. I am considering these because I don't like in-ear and noise cancelling. I like to hear the sounds around me. In ALL the reviews of earbuds that I've seen, NOONE talks about having long (especially) curly hair. The Shokz don't work for me because they are really tough to get on and off with my hair. The girl on the video compared but didn't show getting the Shokz on and off. I had them and gave them to my husband due to the hair issue and he likes them (without the hair issue). When my hair is up in a bun, they are great but I mostly leave it down long. I also like having a wire of some sort so I can hang it around my neck and not have to put them in a case (or set them down and lose them). So, I am almost sold on these. I walk a LOT and want to listen to music and talk on the phone while walking. Would like to know more about how they sound on the phone - both sending and receiving. But, nice review.
These would be no problem with any hair. they tuck behind your ears like a hearing aid does.
Great review ❤️
Thanks Simon
Good review, good thing your ears were clean for those closeups lol. Did you walk over the cable foot bridge at steall falls?
Had to shave my ears before hand 🤣 Didn't actually get a chance to use the rope bridge would you believe and was past it twice!
I have both and I have had the aftershock. open run aftershockz Pro, and that aftershockz comm. My most favorite one is the aftershocks comm because I connect to my Apple phone better. The other two even though the open run was my favorite fit, didn’t stay connected with my phone well and the sound wasn’t the best. The aftershockz comm has a microphone that comes down and goes up like a dispatcher. That could be annoying because when you answer calls you have to remember to put that down, other wise the call is on mute and then there’s some thing on the side of your face all the time as well, but it does flip back to the side of the side of your head and I like those but the oladance I stinking love the sound! The sound beats the aftershocks, hands-down. The controls on the ordinance are a bit different but nothing that’s a dealbreaker. I love the fact that I can hear my children while I’m talking to them and while they’re talking to me and playing music. The aftershockz has a kind of muted quality, even though your ears wide-open it’s like you almost can’t hear well. Plus, I don’t like the vibration in my ear. It makes it tickle sometimes if I turn it up too loud. with the oladance, my Apple phone doesn’t tell me I have my volume up to loud. The aftershockz, even though it’s quite low, it tells me my volume is too loud, even though I can’t hear anything. And I love what the oladance company stands for ear health. There is a pamphlet that comes in with them and it explains alot of what they are working towards. they are very much concerned about your ear health and sustainability and some other good things if you check out their website. Overall I love the oladance ones because it doesn’t feel like my ears are being damaged by having some thing in it and the sound being too loud or any vibrations to make me feel uncomfortable and I can hear and it sounds awesome!! I also love that when I am in public I can hear if someone is in my area. That is important for me as a woman walking in the street or in stores. Side note you gets so used to them being there tab you have to feel sometimes if they are there and they are comfortable to take a nap while listening to music in. I have slept with this on plenty while listing to sleep stories.
Great points! You’ve definitely done your research!
Do you run with the ShokzComm?
Nice review, I'd be intrigued to know how well the touch controls work when it's raining or covered in sweat
Good question! They are waterproof so I kinda assumed that mean the controls were too
Thanks
Really like my Oladance, the only issue for me as well is the touch control, but mostly because I think they are too sensitive and by that I mean when I put a hood on or adjust the speakers can't call them ear buds I guess, the touch sensitive controller thinks I'm pausing my music.
My suggestion would be for future tech to add a sensitivity adjustment to the app. for the phone...BTW the Oladance app. is pretty cool as well, so I give mine a 9 out of 10
Sticking with my shokz. I like completely open ears for safety and the band around the back, as you point out, is really handy for.putting them round your neck.
These are nearly as open as the Shokz in terms of how safe they are. They don’t go into your ear canal so you can still hear everything around you (depending on volume of course but that also applies to Shokz) Yeah the band on the Shokz is handy
This is probably the only piece of tech I'll never need! Over the years I've tried umpteen playlists - favourite songs, soundtracks, whale music, focus music, workout music, classical music, white noise, brown noise, podcasts - but they're all too distracting. Seems that the only 'music' I need while running is the beat of my feet and sound of my breathing.
You must have very musical feet 😂 I vary sometimes I run in silence and sometimes I really need music as my soundtrack.
earbuds are very dangerous, I only use them when I am in my office and most people are asleep lol I like the very old school retro headphones that have a sponge around. Thanks for another amazing review!!
Haha yeah I remember the ones with the sponge earcups 😂
Could you do a comparison of Oladance vs OneOdio OpenRock Pro
“So, I sold out, but I’m still being honest “ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Yup
Can you compare with the Shock openfit?
If only they had multipoint bluetooth it would be perfect! Hopefully the next one they can add that and I will buy in a heartbeat.
I believe the 2 now do
Oladance touch control works easy and fine I think, which is located on the lower part of the headphones. To adjust the volume, you swipe up and down over the entire headphone surface. When you run and need to use the touch controller, you can always stop and continue running, which is not a big deal or is that difficult to do, I think. I agree with you, the open sound is satisfying enough, better than any other small open earphones so far that I know of. 🤗 ❤
I know that when I’m running, I dislike stopping a it puts my rhythm out - I like the physical button on the Shokz or the little stems on AirPods. However, generally the volume adjustment isn’t normally considered once I’m out. I do have some in-earphones with touch controls that I sometimes struggle with but worst case, I use the phone!
Great sound BUT... I have an issue with the touch controls. It is bad when damp (rain/sweaty fingers) on my iPhone, Garmin, Apple Watch AND Oladance. I want TACTILE (look it up)
If they start selling them in the UK so I can return them easily if I find them uncomfortable I would seriously like to try them.
They should be on Amazon here soon
Ola Dance website ships to the UK
Is it good to use it in a loud gym?
So you commented on the leakage on the oladance. I have the shokz openrun pro and I notice they leak audio quite a bit. Which would you say has more noticeable leakage?
The Oladance are more leaky.
You can hardly hear battery cars these day’s anyway! Jaybird Vista 2’s are my choice 😁
Haha. It was actually testing the Jaybird Vistas that nearly got me run over by a tractor 😬
They also produced a weird internal thump thump when I used them. Great audio quality but didn’t work for me at all
The connection is Bluetooth but are they individual connections for each ear or is one the dominant connection and xfers sound to the other?
Hmmm no idea, does it matter? I think they must connect directly to phone as you can use just one of them
Surprised he hasn't tried the Hakii Mix
I would be interested to know how these sound when out and about in windy conditions (and compared with the Shokz). I find it so annoying that I cannot listen to podcasts when the wind is blowing past my ears. As for the song... Muppet theme tune?
Haha I have the same problem with podcasts in wind with the Shokz! Wish I’d tested that now. I think they might do better as they are more over ears but I’d need to test.
Haha not the muppets
I compared it with Sony linkbuds and shotz openrun pro that I had. Sound quality is Sony. The fit was shotz, and the battery had good oladance. For outdoor use, it was convenient in the order of sony, shotz, and oladance. Crucially, the oladance had poor sound quality. The sound quality was good from Sony, but the Bluetooth connection was not good. I only have sony linkbuds now. The rest were sold second-hand.
Linkbuds are in-ear though, which rules them out for me for running.
@@StephenJReid If you haven't tried Linkbuds.... If you ever get a chance, try it. Then it will help you understand. You may agree that these earphones are optimized for almost all sports and outdoor activities. Of course, on the condition that you do not compromise the intrinsic sound quality of earphones.
Thanks for your trial and feedback on our product.
Our open earbuds would be a perfect companion if you do workouts outside and need to hear the traffic around you. Regarding sound quality, we have received reviews from various media & UA-camrs, and are reckoned to be delivering the best audio performance in the open-ear category.
The sound quality is ensured by the dual 16.5mm dynamic drivers and the patented technology which synthesizes multiple sound sources for repositioning and solves the acoustic imperfection of traditional open earbuds. Hence, we suggest you try it again in a relatively quiet environment.
Besides, we aim to deliver comfort, long battery life, and good sound quality, supporting prolonged use with the best wearing experience. The open design keeps you free from in-ear discomfort and connected to your surroundings whilst the up-to-16-hour battery life enables you to hear your tracks throughout a full marathon or road race.
Please feel free to contact our customer service at support@oladance.com if you have any questions. We’re on standby to offer help.
@@oladance3386 you offer refurbished item for low price _?
Proud Mary!
So now, 9 months later, which do you use for runs?
Still Both honestly! 😂 ran with the Oladance today and then OpenRun Pro earlier in the week.
I tend the favour the Oladance for shorter runs (up to 60mins) and the Shokz for longer days as they are easy to just store around my neck.
Or if I want to put in a hard fast training run, I’ll go for the Oladance as the sound is better and I can zone out to music
How are they when the wind is blowing and you are talking to someone on the phone
Depends how windy it is, won’t work well if it’s very windy
@@StephenJReid thank you for your response
Can someone tell me if you can feel vibration as I tried the shocz at the cycle show recently and I came away with a headache.
I’ve never really felt vibrations with the Shokz. But for me, they simply supply music and podcasts during my runs. I wouldn’t have them as my everyday listening earphones, the quality just isn’t there
@@TheDribfunk try turning them up, as soon as I turned them up, that’s when it happens. They aren’t worth the money.
Do they stay put?
Yup
Guess the song....I'm thinking Bad Moon Rising??
Yup! 😂
Oladance WS2
Timely. I am looking for new earbuds. As a backpacker that does longer distances over several days I often listen to music or books during the second half of the day but am concerned about bears sneaking up on me or missing out on deer or other animals that make little noise. This may be the answer.
Could be! Just fine tune the volume to suit background noise and away you go
Bad moon rising
Yup!
Sponsored, tandancy review.
A what?!
I did not like these. I went back to the shokz pros. They didnt sound that good and weren't bone conduction so bad comparison tbh
Bad moon rising
Yup!
