For this being their first game, this is insane!!! They understood the assignment very well, indeed. This is proof that the formula is not the problem, people never grew tired of these types of games and graphics. Many companies just seemed to have forgotten how to creatively use them. Every game doesn't need to be 50GB in order to be fun.
Been looking foward to this game for a while, glad it's finally out and looks. Got it on steam already, gonna play it later on when i have some free time good
I care not about platforming or combat by themselves, I care about exploration first and foremost. The last and only sidescroller that scratched the itch for me was Hollow Knight.
I am having fun with it. Bo the whatever metroidvania is next. After Biomorph, The Last Faith, and Gestalt, I would be 100% ok with not having a collect 20+ items related to a "quest" all over the various areas in metroidvanias. Hollow Knight did it, and the reward structure and character/lore expressed in it made it great. These games not so much. I do think this game handles stagger better than Ender Lilies did, though, which is nice.
I know it's irrelevant to this video but just finished Worldless and want to recommend the game. It's a Metroidvania(ish?) with beautiful art and great platforming challenge. Despites some flaws (and a unsatisfying ending lol) I still find it enjoyable.
Love this review series every time, Drax3x!😍 Wonder what the next episode will be like though. Can't wait to see! It would be great if you could check your inbox by the way. We've sent you one!🥰
Have you played Ultros? It's an amazing metroidvania, made by the people behind hotline miami, that came out a few months ago now and was hoping to see you play it
I was really excited to play Gestalt: Steam and Cinder, because it looks like it has all the elements of a great metroidvania game. I love the art style, the music, and the steampunk setting. But after watching this review, I’m really disappointed to hear that it’s so linear. One of my favorite things about metroidvania games is the freedom to explore and the sense of discovery that comes with it. I’m not sure it’s going to be worth it for me if that’s missing from Gestalt.
I looked through your video and thought it was an interesting concept but then checked Steam reviews and some other content creators and to be fair their opinion is much different, did your thoughts of the game keep the same through the whole playthrough?
Looks like a good game, but i wish you said anything about the things you didnt like about the game. That kind of information helps a lot in a sponsored review.
Yeah, sorry no. I tried the demo, and it was just... disappointingly shallow and tedious. It wasn't fun, and the narrative, as far as I saw, was terribly "Tell, not show".
And thank you for introducing me to Nine Sols! Really enjoy your reviews on games please keep doing it.
Been waiting for this for a long time! So excited
I've always loved these games. Still excited.

Fireborn, thank you so much I was so eager to play a game such as like this. You have gifted me with this video
I didn't even realize that this game was out and I had this on my wishlist Been waiting for this game for the longest
Just got this game yesterday. It is incredible!
About 2 hours in and liking it a lot!

this is actually my cousins game, i am proud to be related to him and see it shine so well
Kind of freaking me out that every positive review I'm seeing of this so far popping up in my feed is a sponsored video.
Great music too!
Looks pretty good. Will keep an eye out for the Switch version.
I'd love to see you play through the demo and get your thoughts.
This seems like an excellent game!

Steampunk cowgirl game looks fire
Love that you're promoting other games. Did you complete nine sols?
19,99 Sob, i heard "90,99" and was like "its good game, but not for 90$"
Mishenka, have you recorded your first song yet?
I would enjoy the game if my battle cats rotted brain wasn’t thinking about gestalt decay constantly

How many damn 2D difficult metroidvania platformers are we gonna get?!
Is there a way to turn off the enemy health bars?

Gestalt has a hard G sound. It's a German word. And unlike the word "German," it doesn't make a J noise.
Looks like a good game, but i wish you said anything about the things you didnt like about the game. That kind of information helps a lot in a sponsored review.
Is this gonna be on the switch tho??
Why are all the latest side-scrolling RPGs linear?
The gave it a 10
Hi Fire, please try new game Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus, it’s a metroidvania too, and it looks amazing
Goty potential
After getting my ass kicked by nine sols and bo, this game is definitely on the easier side.
Guess I've been pronouncing the word 'gestalt' incorrectly all my life
ESA and La-Mulana are too obtuse, the rest either don't feel as a cohesive world, or are too linear.
im pretty sure canaan is pronounced kay-nin not cannon.
Don't you dare ignore it, I know you're reading this.
Like yeah, maybe the full game is better than the demo, but the demo was bad, and I doubt that it's gotten much better with a full release.
you can tell its an unfinished game in so many way and its really short too shortest MetroidVaina I've ever played.
I don't think you can pronounce "gestalt" more incorrectly
This feels too much like reading a document and less like playing/talking about a game.

Nice game, totally boring most of the time, but nice nonetheless
decent review? What??
This review is totally not reviewing the game
this game looks terrible, graphics looks like PS2
