I bought a full quiver of RS's (2.8,3.5,4.3,5.1) late last year, loving these wings. Only complaint is that they seem a bit harder to tack due to the nose of the wing pushing down, maybe I still need to adapt my grip & some of your tips might help me there. Would have been nice to address tacking in your video review.
By the way, I leave the battens in all the time and have no trouble putting the wings away in their bags; just deflate, fold from the leading edge down over the first handle, and then roll from both wingtips to the center strut.
Great to hear your thoughts as I also have the RSs in 5.1, 4.3 and 3.5, and agree with everything you've said really. The pistol grip hand position on the front handle is great when flagging. You can one hand the 5.1 (and the 4.3 but a bit less comfortably) from the very front of the rear handle as long as it's not too windy. Totally agree with taking a bit of time to figure out where to hold it, especially on the 3.5 which I hated the first time I took it out. The 5.1 is definitely the most locked in going upwind, the 4.3 is quite a bit more manoeuvrable and is great for freestyle (aerial rotations are better than the Slick V1), and the 3.5 is a bit more nuanced in its handling, but stills works very well and is great on a wave. All have great forward drive/acceleration when you get them locked in. Initial power is good but the magic happens as you accelerate and the added apparent wind just creates more and more forward pull. I also use a harness and have the lines exactly where you have them. The only other thing I'd add is that the wing tips seem to have a magical bounce if they hit the water - they don't seem to grab at all! Only downside so far from me is the carbon handle covering seem a bit fragile.
Edit - for people info, the x-ply is not like windsurf sail xply like on the Reedin Superwing X, but a way softer material that doesn't need too much care when handling, although it's still a laminate so more care the better!

@@Ericz131313 thanks so much for such a positive comment. I have made a gopro pole for my max 360 that has a metal bracket that screws into the footstrap inserts. It can be used at the front or the back of the board. The results are good but it does add noticeable swing weight which can negatively affect the performance, but it's worth putting up with occasionally when I want to film something specific. I made another video showing the mount and explaining its pros and cons. You can find it on my UA-cam channel
I have it in 3.5 and 5.1 and fantastic wing minus the valve. I would have fancied two standard valves like on my North Mode 7.
I had a few sessions on the RS 5.1 and it's important to note that it behaves differently to most other wings with how you use the back handle. Basically DON'T sheet in for more power, it suffocates the wing, instead let the air fill the wing and the magic happens, it drives you forward. Very impressive this wing requires so little user input.
Agree the valve is too big, also a few reinforcements would have been welcome on the leading edge.
I never thought about it like that but I think you're right, you sheet in as much as you need to for balance rather than power. I wish I said that in the video🤣
Hi Dom, great videos, thanks for posting. I really like my RS 5.1 and am looking to add a low wind option for the quiver. Did you ever get the chance to try to 7.2m RS? I'm considering the CWC V3 as well, but the reviews on the V3s seem to suggest they are less powerful than the V2.

@dominichoskyns9091 Dom, do you think the RS still holds out against new generation wings like the Armstrong XPS? I love my RS wings and I'm probably going to replace my quiver this year. But I feel I am going to regret it and the XPS won't live up to my RS wings.
Hello Dominic, thank you for the great video. The RS strikes me as a good wing with handles. The reinforcement of the tips and the valve seem cumbersome in everyday use. Which wing would you prefer: the Takuma RS or the Duotone Unit?
Probably the unit D-Lab because it's so light and stiff, but it's so expensive. Then the RS, then the normal unit

In light wind conditions which would you prefer the f one CWC or this one ?
The biggest RS is a 7m so the CWC 8m is the best for super light wind simply due to its size. The only way to compare them properly would be to ride both wings in 7m on the same session, but I don't have either in 7m and can't afford to buy them just for a test 😢
