Foil Drive opens up places to ride. Just play safe... likely not a matter of if, but when, a battery runs out sooner than expected or other issue arises - ride a board you can paddle back to shore, carry comms device, etc.
Hey James..awesome video..very helpful. Are you using the 3 blade prop or standart 2 blades.. I have trouble going into the wind when above 12 knots..seems to stall me on the 15cm cable
Ive been wondering which length cable to go with? Paul is riding the 20 but your on the 15? I want to be able to pump and DW but worry the 15 will be hard to keep in the water without hitting the board on the water while motoring? Thoughts?
First go I used the 20cm cable (this video) I now exclusively use the 15cm cable. I got it wrong in the video. This is a 20cm cable but it felt too low on the mast for me when downwinding, since this I’ve used 15cm and you need to stay a bit lower when e foiling upwind but it’s worth it. I’d prefer more freedom for the DW foiling part than the upwind part but it is all a balance
Well if it was over 12kg I'd agree but it is no where near that heavy plus its a long paddle upwind haha! I'm the first to say I'd prefer to paddle downwind but if there is no lift available this is a great solution
Perfect music , downwinding or foiling in general fits a mellow vibe. Off shore wind is nice, most of the world is beating into onshore. Thanks

Couldn't agree more! I was never further out than I was comfortable to swim in from. That is my rule of thumb
Music😁 Looks like so much fun!

Awesome!!! What foil wing were you using? Seems the waves were faster than you.
I was using a 980S, better to be going too slow than too fast!!

@@jamescasey7393 Now it makes sense as that didn't look like 15cm in the video
Nice quick ride. That’s what I am planing to do too! Is that really a 15cm cable as you said? Looks more like a 20 or even 25cm one?
15cm cable with the GEN2 is essentially a 20cm cable 🤷🏽♂️
Not sure why you’d wanna dw a 12+ kg setup with 1/4 of your mast taken up. I’ll stick to paddling 😉
