This works surprisingly well as a preamp/overdrive out of the headphone jack.
I've got a red one. It has no speaker sim at phones out so you're guaranteed to have a headache after 10 minutes playing it through your headphones. Volume knob adjusts volume and gain at the same time. What you've really should have done is putting it out of phones jack into an IR. Otherwise it sounds like nails on the blackboard. 0:52
there is a follow up coming with an IR, but for this review it was kind of pointless... why buy a headphone belt clip amp when you hook it up to a pc with an impulse loader? 😅
i have it, but i don't use it anymore. i have to try the headphone out with some ir in my laptop.
i think the ms-4 sounds quite good when running the headphones out in an ir; i dare to say it sounds like a marshall that way
It comes in handy when you're on a vacation and don't wanna have your heavy amp with you. But why don't you run it into an actual amp through the headphone output. I know i get some nasty tones out of it. Ok, no Chainsaw DeathMetal tone. But something really disgusting 😅😊
