My job would be far too easy if the developers could actually agree on what is and isn’t canon, but I do enjoy hearing multiple takes on unanswered questions. So, let me know where you think Wanamingos came from and whether or not you think they’re still alive!
If there’s zetans, Wanamingos probably are another alien species who came, maybe pre war who was mutated by radiation. Zetans have space suits to protect them from radiation, maybe wanamingos didn’t, they were irradiated hence why they give of rads
honestly the tunnelers and wanamingos seem to have a lot of similarities in their hierarchy and how they live, would not be surprised to learn that the two had encountered each other underground as the tunnelers spread and the encounter drove one or both species toward the surface. As for where they came from originally fev exposure to some dessert dwelling reptilian or amphibian seems more likely than the alien theory, at least until a handler species is introduced, as they do not seem intelligent enough to arrive here by themselves, and the zetans do not seem a likely species to create or handle such a creature.
Instead of fallout 3 originally being set closer to the great war, I just assumed it's only been settled more recently due to radiation levels. I mean I would assume that DC would have been a primary target (more nukes shot at it) in the great war.

Dude it’s amazing how fast you make videos and keep the exoectation so high ✌🏻🤙🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 killing it
Apparently they had a biological clock, but so did the Cazadores….
Memorable encounter to be sure, imagine my shock when those funny-looking pests shrugged off combat shotgun burst with zero damage. One turn later my jaw was still on the floor when I clicked "LOAD"
Ill never forget the first encounter with the wanamingos in fallout 2.
Tougher than deathclaws and look like the alien ...and their slow walk is so creepy
Thank you for making this
I prefer the idea that they went extinct due to a lot of different factors (like Deathclaws)
My favourite Fallout creature posted by my favourite content creator on my birthday I really am lucky today:)
So many enemies from 1 and 2 SHOULD be brought back in fallout 76 in some update, would be pretty cool
I guess, after seeing the concept artwork of the Wanamingo, they wanted to differentiate them from Squigs a little bit. I think the tentacle/appendages are super creepy.
Me before seeing them:
"Wanamingo? I wonder if they look like flamingos? 😊"
Me after seeing them:
"....oh God..."
I want to see a wanamingo in the fallout show.
They kinda remind me of octopus or squid
With their body plan flipped possibly a heavily mutated form of octopus or squid
That migrated from the coast and since they weren't properly equipped to survive they didn't have the numbers to bounce back at least away from the coast
I think they can still be around. As the famous line goes, "Life, uh, finds a way."
2:05 to shreds you say?
they could ret-con em in as pet/weapons of the zetans, they've always struck me as very hr giger ala xenomorph
I've never heard of these things! Thank you for shedding a light on these terrifying creatures!
Phenomenal video on a phenomenal creature!
I like to think the Chosen one prevented one the most dangerous abominations from emerging across the wasteland. Sparring people from more pain in suffering.
I absolutely love your content man. Keep up the great work. Could you do a video on The Chosen One?
These things were an unstoppable pain in 2
Oh yeah... *These things...*
I remember going down into the graveyard/mine (I don't remember what it was, been a long while since I played this) and seeing these things across from me at the other side of the cave. Even with power armor, a Gatling laser and enough science points, was still getting run down by these jerks.
I still remember entering the bottom of that ship and being swarmed with like 5 of these guys plus several other variants of mutant. Power fist saved meh!
These things look like something straight out of stephen kings langoliers XD
My thoughts exactly!
First time i've seen these guys, definitely need to finish up FO1 and start a run of 2 now.
Killing wanamingos with the bozar for xp was one of the most pleasants sensations i ever had playing any fallout
If floaters can come back, so can they
You’re in luck the new Fallout 76 update has an updated model for one
@@Jones25ful👀👀👀👀👀
Wait...does that means they're gonna be in the new world expansion update?
@@Derpsterchief not the next one, but look forward to the Second half of the year roadmap, because they’ve said new cryptids are coming. And the wannamingo, Vegetable Man, and the squonk have the most in game teases.
@@PleaseTryAgainLater I should be more clear there is a full model of a wannamingo on a dissection table in one of the new areas, so the model will exist in game.
Finally, just the video I've been waiting for.
Been waiting for this one
this was very interesting, i always thought they were product from FEV
I love these guys, they got crazy Big MT shenanigans written all over them.
I was always disappointed they didn't make it into the 3d games along with the centaurs. I vaguely recall that they were an evolution of some species not aliens from some interview, but that was a lifetime ago so I can't be certain.
5:11 Life… uh… finds a way. 😂
i shat myself when i came across one of these after installing a creature mod pack
Had no idea they were real
Man thank you. We love this shit and you do it damn well. Keep going yo.🤠👍
I wish Bethesda would get away from the model of having a dozen different variations of one enemy type (like 20 different ghouls for crying out loud) and get back to having some of the weird one-off ones like Centaurs (which were creepy as hell) and Wanamingos.
I know of these things, glad you covered them.
Wannamingos have always been one of the most random enemies in Fallout.
Like...they look like a decapitated Xenomorph with noodle arms
I like to think of them as the carnivorous plants said fuck this and got up and chased down its prey
The Wingo is the most perfect name for this thing
The fallout 76 skyline valley update has one dead one in the update.
