So, to summarise: they have newer, cleaner planes, in better condition...you liked the legroom, the seats were wider and more comfortable, the interior was stylish, they fly from decent airports, they have a large and reasonable food selection....and yet you repeatedly mentioned that you will not fly easyjet again. Because of a baggage policy that a frequent flyer such as yourself should have known about, and also be perceptive enough to appreciate the resultant benefits.

Having flown Easyjet and Ryanair lots of times Easyjet is a lot better than Ryanair I am complete the opposite to you I stay away from Ryanair now
Interesting. I guess the moral is to stay away from both - I just don't like the strictness I experienced at EasyJet on these flights!

i agree especially as you said both your bags (camera bag and backpack) are likely to be smaller than someones single carry on suit case. They should take into account when people have smaller bags and allow it to be boarded as normal.
Joseph Weston Ivve flown on both an Easyjet a320NEO and a Ryanair 737MAX and the easjet a320NEO is on another level, Ryanair 737MAX is far better than their 737-800 but is still shit compared to Easyjet's a320NEO

Ryanair has lowered their hand luggage allowance as they want to get people to pay more by scamming them.
I would choose easyJet every day of the week over Ryanair. Plus I'm going to end up flying easyJet a lot more because of their takeover of air Berlin.

easyJet has always had this policy, even though you broke the rules you are still complaining about it???
You get what you pay for! You buy a ticket which entitles you to one piece of luggage as long as it fits in the overhead(45x36x20) Doesn’t matter what weight it is (unlike Ryanair)...you should have just taken a bigger bag maybe and then you wouldn’t have had to break the rules.
I was thinking that, Easy jet are by far the best out of the three airlines and just because Dan couldn't have an extra bag wouldn't use them again lol
EasyJet is a disgrace of an airline. They charged me 60 euros for a lap top bag, and before you tell me "i should have known" i did know! In the website they said pay for a carry-on bag, which I did and which was too packed, and they reminded me not to bring a backpack or else I'd have to pay. Fair enough. But asking me to pay 50 euros for a MACBOOK AIR lap top bag which I could have fitted in my coat had i had it on me, is unlike any other airline I've ever flown with.
I have sworn off them forever, and have kept that promise, because my next eight flights I've booked with other airlines specifically avoiding all these scam low-cost ones. It's better to pay more money with some other airline but get treated like a human, than pay less and have to deal with these under-qualified buffoons.

Congrats on 100K! Well deserved! I flew EasyJet a few months ago, from Luton to Arlanda, and I was carrying a backpack and my camera bag and I was allowed to bring both without trouble.

Your reviews are so so much better and easier to connect to. Other reviewers I watch keep flying First Class quite too often and that means every flight turns out to be good for them. But this is where you bring the differentiation on the table. Your reviews are genuine. Fantastic job as always Dan ! I guess I'm of the opposite opinion in that I always enjoy flying EasyJet. The main reason is that I have a method of getting onboard with 2 carry-ons using the EasyJet Plus program which affords me the aforementioned carry-on allowance as well as priority boarding/check-in and free extra legroom seat selection.
Yes, I hear the Easyjet Plus program is great. If you're a frequent flyer it's a no brainer. Thanks for watching as always Matt!
Though I should add that I have it for free cos EasyJet's system seemingly allows any Plus member's family members to apply the member's Plus number to bookings as long as you have the same last name. In my case that's my Dad and so far it's worked flawlessly.

Thanks for giving this cabin luggage policies such a big part of your review video, as for me it is one of the crucial points when deciding for an airline.
I try to avoid flying easyjet as my luggage is ususally slightly heavier that 10kg and 3 cm oversized, are they looking at this as well or only at the nr of bags?
It also makes me wonder, why only EasyJet and sometimes wizzair are so focused on executing their luggage policy, whereas every other low-cost carrier has gone to accept small oversizes in bags and allows you to bring 2 luggages.

Easyjet has now changed there baggage policy and you can now take on a trolley bag, along side a personal bag, such as a handbag/man bag. small rucksack.

I'll be flying them LGW to AMS this spring. I plan on bringing my backpack and a laptop bag. I've seen varying comments about whether or not that will work. Anyone know for sure?

Spirit is also very strict. One carry on bag costs money! You are limited to one personal item for free. Also checked bags are insanely expensive. The limit is 40 lbs per bag and that costs $37. If you wait to check it at the gate, you have to pay $50. Low budget airlines just charge to much for additional fees.
always have one of the smaller Ikea bags (45 cm x 18 cm x 45 cm) with my carryon, if any employee has problems with my loose items...
I've flown easyJet from FUE to LGW and it was a fantastic experience. Especially for a Budget Airline on a 3.5 to 4 hr flight

At about 6:40 you mentioned that it is the airport's fault that the stairs arrived late..it is actually the ground handling company at fault which is an independent entity from the airport company...

There is another way of bringing 2 bags on easyjet if you pay for speedy boarding they allow you to bring 2 bags unlike a normal ticket you can only bring 1 bag for example : small suitcase,a backpack
Hey Dan. To start with, I love your videos, so well done 👍🏽. I couldn’t agree more with all of the other comments here: Ryanair is far worse! Also, as other comments mentioned, FR has got far worse now with a one-bag policy and no trolley bags! So basically you’re just allowed a small bag or rucksack. Moreover, they are super strict with no exceptions. I am a frequent flyer, especially in Europe and I must say that I love easyJet. I find them super friendly, professional, clean aircraft and a really good business model with great flexibility if you need it (adding baggage, easy plus etc). By the way, maybe you had bad luck as I was bombarded with emails from Ryanair!!! Also, when you talk about the airport staff being unfriendly etc., that is not the airline’s fault but the ground handlers there who handle many airlines..... so don’t be too hard on easy :).

just an FYI, you are allowed one cabin bag and one duty free bag on board. I only know this because I work at southampton airport and we were told by EZY themselves that this is allowed aha

Hi Dan, would just like to point out that the ground handling services i.e. steps etc, turnaround and check-in are provided by one of several third-party handling agents, contracted by the airline (in the UK anyway). From my experience of working at Manchester Airport for many years, easyJet always go with the cheapest regardless and this is reflected in service issues such as what you experienced on arrival at LGW with no steps (happened all the time at MAN). Interestingly Ryanair didn't experience such issues as they went with higher quality ground handlers - they obvs decided it was a false economy if it compromised their 25 min turns. Thanks for another interesting vid!

To be fair all low cost carriers or carriers with smaller planes will offload bags if there is no room...easyJet are clear with their policy and credit to them that they enforced their policy. The trouble with not enforcing the policy like has happened to me on other carriers is that it gives out mixed messages and you may not be so lucky the next time. Great video, though. Agree there are too many preflight emails but always feel I have to read them in case it’s important flight info 😂

"Gate attendant yelling at passengers" --> this only happens at low cost, it's SADLY a routine at Budapest airport as well, one can read horror stories about it on Hungarian forums. 3. I flew EJ to Iceland from Bristol recently, they definitely allowed one carry on item (for overhead storage) and one smaller item like a laptop case (under the seat in front) at that point. Interesting to read the policies again and see if they've changed recently.
Certain easyJet customers are allowed one bag and one small under-seat bag. I'm sure others get away with it but its hard to police when an airline has a schedule and other boarding pass checks to complete. The policy is clear, if you get away with it, great.... if not then people can't really complain either.
Globe guys2 ah! I normally preselect my seat when booking, I guess that includes the extra bag.

Very odd conclusion. I'm sorry Dan but the policy is clear and on the bag basis alone you prefer Ryanair? You could always take a bag that fits your stuff in the first place....or hey wahta bout taking a large plastic bag with you?

Nice honest review. For me easyJet have been good, I flew with them LTN-KEF return and will soon be flying STN-MUC return. I didn't think the seats were amazing, and they forgot about my food order. However I can't generalise the whole airline from the actions of one crew member

The policies are clear on the website when booking and on the boarding card. It states clearly that one 1x item is permitted.

A trick for Wizzair travelers. On your pc, using software for editing PDF files, you can edit your ticket. So this means, you can make it appear as Priority ticket. Only priority passengers travelling with Wizzair can have roller bag and a second small item on board. You dont have to arrive to the gate and line up in priority lane as this way you may get caught. However, no one will check whether you are priority or not if you line up in ordinary lane.
The ground staff at Gatwick and Aberdeen are really nice and don’t bother enforcing the bag rule usually
I flew back from Spain yesterday 5 June 2018 with Easy Jet, plenty of room on the flight and friendly staff too.
