Great video. On the indicator buttons not activating (around 15 mins in) I have had the same problem and have taken it to the SC a couple of times. What they have advised me is to either hold the wheel at 10 and 2 or the lower section of the wheel. Man, there's absolutely no better car than this.....a FACT! Just biding my time until I can afford it one day. After you drive a Tesla you realize there's only two types of cars out there: a Tesla, and NOT a Tesla!
Firstly, thanks for the video man, I am just about to get a long range model 3 highland tomorrow so this has been a great overview of the car as a whole and good idea of what to do and expect. I also live in Portugal, actually in Loule. Vilamoura is great, but can be completely nuts over the summer time, extremely busy, which is the same for all the coastal options or close to the coast in the Algarve. Its hard though to recommend somewhere else because I am 95% sure you are South African as well, if that is the case so am I and Vilamoura has a very SA type vibe matching places like St. Francis or some coastal towns around Cape Town and most of the other locations dont have that. The ease of walking around Vilamoura for example. But if you want comfort away from the crowds long term and over the Summer time but not too far away from the action I would say check out Almancil and areas above and below Loule. They are more afforadble and you get some decent options but also super limited. But if you dont mind the Summer time madness then Vilamoura is super lush and very nice.
Hey man! Thank you!! Congratulations - how are you finding the car? Yeah - we are coming from Cape Town and it definitely has a really similar vibe! We will definitely take a look at the surrounding areas as well :-) nice to hear from a fellow South African in Portugal!
The car is amazing man. So smooth. Best car I have owned. Cape Town, nice, I am from PE. Will probably run into you at Marshopping Mall Supercharger at one stage. Portugal is incredible man. Have a good one. :) @@europeinatesla
Tesla takes care of so many things with charging that other electric cars don’t have. I really struggle with finding chargers and and when I do they don’t always work with a unified app. On a road trip to France I collected 5 different apps just to access various chargers. There were also several chargers that weren’t showing up on any apps. Definitely not a good feeling to pass a charge point when you’re on 4% because it didn’t show up on any navigation app.
Yeah I agree!! They have a really good network and system integration. In Portugal, they’re meant to open up their chargers to all the other apps but they’ve found a loophole for now to keep them exclusively for Tesla…

Picking up my white Standard Model 3 next week, just like yours, here in Portugal. I also want to make some videos and revive this tech channel of mine. You helped in my decision as well. KEep up! ;)
Hi, you’re one of the only people I see with white exterior and the Nova rims. Would say the Nova rims are shiny? I really liked the legacy model 3 19” Sport rims. The Sport rims look like a matte white.
Hi! Thank you for watching No it's definitely not matte, it's actually a silver that is kinda dark in certain shades, definitely not white - it might be the lighting - you gotta see it in real life.
Check the service mode. I think the buttons on the steering wheel sometimes being delayed is caused by a communication issue, and I'm wondering if not being able to open the charging port with buttons on the charger cables is related, since my car does exactly the same.
@@europeinatesla I have not yet tested a Supercharger or my wall connector, but with both my 1-phase and 3-phase mobile chargers the button does not work. Also with the car unlocked it does not work. (pressing the cover, the button on the screen and the button on the app all do open the port, so I wasn't too bothered by it.)
Hi Joao! Thank you for watching my videos - basically I had to purchase the car cash and I didn't want to spend too much. If I could get finance, I probably would've went with the LR (more details in my Q&A here: I answered this question here: ua-cam.com/video/8O9VgUT4NZ0/v-deo.html) To be honest though, I haven't felt that the range isn't enough - even my roadtrips to Porto (550km) haven't been a problem because the supercharging network is so good here. Let me know if you have any other questions if you need help deciding - I think the LR is great if you are planning to do spontaneous longer trips, but remember - your car will probably be charged at 80% or less most of the time.. with the SR model, I have it close to 100% and charge it to 100% everytime I charge.
Would you recommend this as a first EV? I prefer SUV like style but I feel like M3 RWD is the best value. I currently drive Toyota Camry and I usually drive by myself.
For the price, I think the Model 3 is an excellent car - the Model Y is definitely a lot bigger but if you're coming from a Camry, this isn't that much smaller. It is my first EV and I'm loving it.
So on the cyber truck and model 3 the buttons on the steering wheel are actually buttons , I had the same problem when I went on my test drive when I pressed the indicators they sometimes wouldn't engage. I found that you need to press firmly , since they are physical, and this has eliminated the issue. Hope this helps
It seems still to be touch sensitive with haptic feedback - but with a floaty plastic panel instead of actual buttons. The reason I get this impression is if you press the inactive button (below the cameras button) - there’s no haptic feedback and the “button” doesn’t budge
Would you be able to do a review of the sound please. Im looking to buy the standard range which i believe has 7 speakers (and no sub), just curious if it it still punchy and bassy enough. Thanks in advance.
The sound now is pretty good - it’s very punchy as they’ve added a subwoofer so there’s 9 speakers. But I feel the mid and mid-highs are lacking a bit. Once I have access to an LR model, I’ll do a comparison for you guys ❤️ thank you for watching
How did you setup the iPhone’s action button to open the frunk? Did you use shortcuts? And can you set it up to open the boot instead? Cheers! Our TM3 is due in 6 weeks hopefully!
Yes! It's under shortcuts - you can create various from the Tesla app. You will be able to do it for the boot for sure! All the best! You're gonna love it - it's a fantastic car
@@INSIGHTSAU oh yes! Sorry I remember from the other comment. No I didn't take advantage of it - you'll have to use your vehicle for your activity or business purposes. Alternatively you could get a VAT (IVA) credit and offset that against your billed IVA (but I'm not a tax practitioner so I'm not 100% sure about the details)
@@europeinatesla there is also an incentive for public buyers but it gets renewed every year in January. Last year there was 1300 issued but over 3,000 applications. It was €4,000. No idea what they will do next year.
@@INSIGHTSAU Ah! I didn't actually know about this - I bought my car in late November last year so if it's every calendar year, I probably couldn't get it at that time. You should definitely look into it if you're planning on getting it in early Jan, €4000 is such a win!
Hi! There is cell network built into the car - you have to pay a monthly fee for "premium connectivity" which includes satellite maps, spotify, youtube, netflix access etc., but without paying, you are still able to use navigation (regular map view) but won't be able to use any of the multimedia (but as you mentioned, you can hotspot your phone and connect the car to your phone via Wi-Fi)
You can charge the car at lowers amps if you have the Mobile connector that can be connected to a standard 220V wall socket. What this means though is that 16A will give you approximately 3.7kW, and 32A can give you approximately 7.2kW at best. Charging this way would take a lot of time, but can be cheaper than using Superchargers. It also doesn't require any special sort of charging box, just the Tesla mobile connector.
Tomorrow i have my model 3. About the indicators. The right button is always in “top” doesn’t make sense to me. Wheels is turning anti-clockwise on z roundabout, if i need to exit and i press the “top”button, i indicate left and not right…
Collecting my highland 2 weeks later and I'm worried about getting use of driving in the hold mode as Tesla removed the creep and roll mode in my region. Did I make the correct decision? 😄
Mine also doesn’t have roll and creep, I think it’s so much better - you’ll get used to it quickly - thereafter you’ll think cars that creep forward are weird 😂😂😂😂
@@europeinatesla Thanks. My concern is more on the force that pull back the car when I release the acceleration. Passengers behind will feel that the car is jerky and uncomfortable.🤣
@@Ensiferum25 yes - as long as it's slowing down significantly - so it will determine whether the brake lights need to come up or not - but most of the time it does because the regen braking is significant.
13:46 When the steering wheel is up side down, the top indicator becomes left. What he mentioned was "the correct indicator", not "the right indicator always on top". An almost perfect car, what a shame they have to do this...
On top relative to the top of the steering wheel, not relative to the sky. The “indicate right” is the top button. So when your wheel is upside down, then if you feel for the top of the steering, it’s still “indicate right”
Hello, question: i have my new model 3, same as in the video. My phone is connected (iphone) and i can use the app,… i can make phonecalls with my phone but on the screen i can’t scroll to my contacts. For example: i want to call my wife, i need to use my phone to chose her as a contact. When i make the call, the phone shows her name, i gave the tesla-app acces to my contacts, still no sync….
When you go to the phone app on the Tesla, is it all blank? Just for reference on my iPhone Bluetooth settings for my Tesla model 3, I’ve selected: Car Stereo as the Device Type and enabled Sync Contacts and checked all the groups: phone favourites, phone recent, all contacts. Let me know if it works - if not, I’d suggest re-pairing your Bluetooth again
@@europeinatesla yes it is all blank. The car gecognize my contacts when they call me, but can’t scroll in the contacts. My bluethoot is on. Phone as key,… but i can’t select all the extra’s you tell me here…
Don’t close the frunk by pushing on the Tesla logo. That’s exactly the spot which Tesla does not recommend. Use both hands slightly offset left and right under the logo
100% yeah, unfortunately I am holding the phone with the other hand... I did apply pressure with the base of my palm and fingers - the pressure is on either side of the logo
Nice video, but choosing not to buy this car because of the lack of stalks is not nit-picking, it's a perfectly legit reason. Same with the horn. Stupid decisions by Telsa (for the customer at least). Aftermarket mods can't come fast enough :)
Nice video, one correction the indicator buttons on the M3 are physical buttons not touch sensitive, the X/S are the ones that are touch sensitive, you can tell when you push on the M3 buttons they have the movement and the click. Here's my video on using the rounadbouts in Australia if you are interested - ua-cam.com/video/ImraaTKKTGc/v-deo.htmlsi=WoMK1eqHfk59nHH- this was only after owning the car for 2 days, it is VERY easy to adapt to the no-stalk indicators, I find them much better than stalks now.
Thank you for watching! Ah it was the Cybertruck that are buttons. The M3H has a floating panel that moves but they aren’t physical buttons. The panel pushes in and there’s a haptic feedback (like the MacBook touchpad). There’s a button on the steering that is currently inactive - the one below the camera button. If you try press that, you’ll see what I mean, it doesn’t budge because there’s no haptic. Thank you! I’ll check out your video. I’m not convinced that one is better than the other, it’s just different.
Just took delivery of this car. Why did it slam its brakes on multiple times on my first long journey? 70 to 40mph in an instant with nothing around me. Seriously dangerous!
@@europeinatesla once when I just had the cruise control on (I had forgotton to activate autopilot), then twice with the autopilot engaged. I had a couple of messages en route saying the cameras were obscured so certain features were deactivated but if that’s the cause it’s a very vulnerable system

Thanks for the video! 2 more weeks until i receive mine, looking forward :D
Congratulations!! Enjoy your car and thank you for watching!
:) @@europeinatesla
if you do spot me, please don't be shy to say hi!@@rsdapshis1
KEep up! ;)
Thanks Joao! Appreciate the support!
Great video. So if charging to 100% on the new M3, does it still slow right down for the last 10% or so like previously?
Yes it does, it takes super long for the last 10%
Excelente vídeo parabéns. No Brasil tem muitos carros Tesla 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 .
Did you just say “passenger princess”?!!! 😂❤ brilliant I love that! Think I’ll be using that 👌
man that is like an old ass phrase....
@@rohanjosem Funny. Never heard it before. Had to look up the meaning. 😁

Hi, you’re one of the only people I see with white exterior and the Nova rims.
Would say the Nova rims are shiny? I really liked the legacy model 3 19” Sport rims. The Sport rims look like a matte white.
Hi! Thank you for watching
No it's definitely not matte, it's actually a silver that is kinda dark in certain shades, definitely not white - it might be the lighting - you gotta see it in real life.
Check the service mode. I think the buttons on the steering wheel sometimes being delayed is caused by a communication issue, and I'm wondering if not being able to open the charging port with buttons on the charger cables is related, since my car does exactly the same.
Have you been able to open the charge port with the supercharger handles at all?
@@europeinatesla I have not yet tested a Supercharger or my wall connector, but with both my 1-phase and 3-phase mobile chargers the button does not work. Also with the car unlocked it does not work. (pressing the cover, the button on the screen and the button on the app all do open the port, so I wasn't too bothered by it.)
how to add the rainbow road?😊
How do you add radio channels? Or maybe iheart radio or equivalent?
Can you do a supercharging 10 to 90 in a 350 kw??? Or a 0 to 100 in a 350 kw supercharging please
Hello, Alan. I'm undecided between the SR and the LR of the Model 3. Why did you choose the SR? Don't you miss more engine power and better audio?
Hi Joao! Thank you for watching my videos - basically I had to purchase the car cash and I didn't want to spend too much. If I could get finance, I probably would've went with the LR
(more details in my Q&A here: I answered this question here: ua-cam.com/video/8O9VgUT4NZ0/v-deo.html)
To be honest though, I haven't felt that the range isn't enough - even my roadtrips to Porto (550km) haven't been a problem because the supercharging network is so good here.
PORTUGAL let´s go!!!
i heard that the radiation level is really high when the car is charging and that it is not recomended to be sitting in the car while its charging ?
Great video content. Much appreciated. Keep it up.
Videos on sentry mode, how would you view it from the phone or within the car.
You can see them both ways. From phone and once you’re in your vehicle.
Does this include the recorded videos?@@MarthaRojas-bs1jd
Do you think a dashboard cover carpet is advisable?
Will it block led lighting.?
Yes it will. Why do you need that ? There’s almost no reflection
How do you unlock the car if you run without battery? nice video
You should always carry the key card in your wallet - so you’d use that as the backup.
Thanks for the video. Just out of interest did you bother to try and get the EV rebate? I’m just about to pull the trigger.
Hi! Thank you for watching - do you mean in the US or here in Portugal?
@@europeinatesla in Portugal. We live up north in Arcos de Valdevez.
You should definitely look into it if you're planning on getting it in early Jan, €4000 is such a win!
how does the car connect to the internet? does it use your phone's data? thanks!
Can i charge my Model 3 at 32A or only 16A ?
What are the disadvantages ?
does it cost more?
can it damage the car?
something else ?
Thanks !
It also doesn't require any special sort of charging box, just the Tesla mobile connector.
no front parking camera viewing option?
That would be great
Yes can you do a video where you outline every single thing step by step?? Thank U😊
Tomorrow i have my model 3. About the indicators. The right button is always in “top” doesn’t make sense to me. Wheels is turning anti-clockwise on z roundabout, if i need to exit and i press the “top”button, i indicate left and not right…
"top of steering wheel" - not absolute top (sky)...
@@Ensiferum25 oh yes - that definitely takes some time to get used to, I usually keep my foot lightly on the accelerator OR I just use autopilot :P
@@AllenHuangNet Thanks for the info. Question, as long as I release the acceleration when I’m on the road, the rear braking light will light up?
@@Ensiferum25 yes - as long as it's slowing down significantly - so it will determine whether the brake lights need to come up or not - but most of the time it does because the regen braking is significant.
13:46 When the steering wheel is up side down, the top indicator becomes left. What he mentioned was "the correct indicator", not "the right indicator always on top". An almost perfect car, what a shame they have to do this...
On top relative to the top of the steering wheel, not relative to the sky. The “indicate right” is the top button. So when your wheel is upside down, then if you feel for the top of the steering, it’s still “indicate right”
I got a tessla3 2023 my problem is 2 times I was stuck on tracks entering car wash trying to put my car in neutral position it keep goin to reverse
What about the physical buttons located above the rear review mirror?
I’m a Spotify user. If I buy a M3, I’m going to rebuild my music playlists from scratch within Tesla’s music app?
Hi Alex! Thank you for watching - no, as long as you log into your account, everything from your profile is loaded 🙏
I was under the understanding that Spotify was not available on Tesla’s app.@@europeinatesla
Spotify is pre-installed... Where are you based? I had it on my car already when I got it - in the US I used spotify on various models too.
Just for reference on my iPhone Bluetooth settings for my Tesla model 3, I’ve selected:
Car Stereo as the Device Type and enabled Sync Contacts and checked all the groups: phone favourites, phone recent, all contacts.
Let me know if it works - if not, I’d suggest re-pairing your Bluetooth again
@@europeinatesla yes it is all blank. The car gecognize my contacts when they call me, but can’t scroll in the contacts. My bluethoot is on. Phone as key,… but i can’t select all the extra’s you tell me here…
Just curious where your accent is from ? :)
10% of the time the indicators don't work?? Hmmmm. Also, what happens if you don't have thumbs?
Thanks I ll buy a new one soon.
Just took delivery of this car. Why did it slam its brakes on multiple times on my first long journey? 70 to 40mph in an instant with nothing around me. Seriously dangerous!
That’s very strange! Was it on Autopilot? Or whilst you’re driving?
@@europeinatesla once when I just had the cruise control on (I had forgotton to activate autopilot), then twice with the autopilot engaged. I had a couple of messages en route saying the cameras were obscured so certain features were deactivated but if that’s the cause it’s a very vulnerable system
Phantom braking occurs when the adaptive cruise control is activated and the car unexpectedly slows dramatically due to imagined hazards in the roadway. Since 2021, 69 Tesla owners in San Diego County have submitted complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Vila Moura ?
Yes! I used to live there
I have one since 3 months. The doors don’t close or open when you walk away. New BT model installed (3hour) and 80% of the time it works….but sometimes it remains unlocked!!!
Frther the Pilot Assist zucks! when you choose 1 press…..it brakes very hard when you change lane. When you choose 2x press….it stays at speed but you have to puss twice to put back on Auto Pilot!!!! And it never works in one try….it brakes….and then you must press 2x again,…again,…again. Also the “self chosen speed doesn’t work! It always falls back to the mandated speed on the signs…..while I have not choose that!!!!! ANOYING!!! Further I have turned off the Adaptive lights! But always when I choose Auto Pilot,,,,the high beams go on and dazzle cars in front of you!!! And the list is much longer……………….its crap these use cars
My wife ordered one of these. I will be like an Indian tech support call centre for her. I am not looking forward to this.
show her the video :)
Would recommend working on your audio/mic - your voice is not that clear.
will do, thanks :)
As a Highland owner, I can say indicators on the wheel is a terrible design decision. It should be prohibited by law to roll out controls like this.
