Yes this is a re-upload. I appreciate everyone’s support and I want to explain below. Creating content for UA-cam is a roller coaster and engagement comes and goes and that’s just the way it works, but for the last 5 months I’ve had a dip and I’m trying a few things to make my videos perform better. This won’t happen again and this video will not be taken down again. I appreciate all of you so much and like other creators on the platform we have to test things out and see what works on the platform we create on! Massive love ❤
Kudos for being honest and open about it! I would be interested to hear what you did different with the reupload (ex. changed title etc) and whether it worked 🤘
ik you didnt ask for any kind of advice but I always gravitate towards your older street photography videos and I think the thing is to some extent that the videos seem almost too samey if that makes sense. You didn't ask for my opinion so you by no means have to take what I say on board but I think there is great potential (if your audience is mainly uk based) in doing a street photography series in visiting different uk cities as you do london quite frequently but as I live near norwich (relatively speaking not going to dox myself) I can say for a fact that a) it is great for street photography and b) no major content creator has visited really and I imagine same goes for places like bristol or even birmingham. it's always london people gravitate towards but it almost feels like youve exhausted almost all london based content and if you visit different places in the uk people from those places may gravitate towards your content just because it's a great photographer taking great pictures then see the rest of it then decided to buy a nice print of an image you took just because you visited say york for example or norwich (i am biased) all my speculative opinion tho if anybody wants to have a dig at me in the replies feel free just tryna help sam because he is v good and I've noticed myself watching less of his content recently because it feels quite similar
@AnythingThomasI hear you and I’ll take what you said on board and have a think, but for reference this year on my Channel I uploaded 44 videos and only 9/10 of those were from London the rest were elsewhere ❤
@@Opticalwander Maybe UA-cam only recommends me the london ones then 😂 feels like more but often I get recommended your old videos too (2 years ago+) so it may be a matter of doing stuff you've never done before or alternatively testing different camera bodies and lenses that are really affordable for most photographers as I am aware you've tried different cameras recently but maybe try to experiment with different options totalling a certain budget e.g can a 10 year old dslr with a 20 year old lens still hold up today? and then use like a canon 7d mark ii and 50mm 1.4 from canon or whichever brand equivalent for the same price just as another video idea but it just depends on who your target audience is I'm only really suggesting what I would watch and I may not be a typical viewer and im just giving ideas from a viewers perspective but youve definitely been doing this longer than I have and its your channel so dont feel like im pushing you about to do a certain style of content just an idea
The world of POV photography videos on UA-cam can feel oversaturated, especially after you've consumed a lot of them and gained experience with your own camera. While they were exciting at first for their immersive perspective, they’ve largely become repetitive unless there's something distinctive, be it a unique location, a special event, or a clear purpose that sets the video apart. For example, a well-done camera or lens review might benefit from a POV video to show practical, real-world results, but beyond that, watching generic POV content purely for entertainment starts to lose its appeal. It feels like there needs to be a stronger hook, something more than just walking around and taking photos. Yes, some do go viral for whatever reason but I don't think you can expect every video to perform well like that. POV videos definitely have their time and place, but unless they’re tied to a meaningful goal, narrative, or fresh creative challenge, they often blend into the crowd.
Glad to see these again, stopped watching when it went too much car orientated. These POV streets are the things that make me want to get my camera and go out
@ I watched every one mate. Amazing stuff. I’m referring more to the instagram chat and page, maybe just seemed a lot of car stuff rather than the street ones. I’m still here though and every time I see a street video I watch.
Amazing work mate. Some belting images here. You’ve had an amazing 2024!! Look forward to following the journey and progress throughout 2025. Merry Christmas Sam.
Very talented and clever as usual, i love ti watch your city videos....!!! I have only one question; your preset, how do i get them...? Press the link, pay and hiw do i keep or save in LR....? Maybe you should do a video how to purchase and install!!!!! What i am saying, that i am useless in thise kind of technical stuff...!!😂
If it’s for desktop there’s a tutorial in the folder, if you still get stuck you can ask UA-cam and there’s thousand of videos showing the process. In regards to the bit before that, you press purchase and then it will send you a link to your email or directly after the payment goes through the link will come up on screen, alternatively during check out you can create an account which then keeps all links available for you if you lose them in the future. Once you download the file it’ll be a folder with all the files in, find the tutorial and go from There :)
So you can use a few, spot M is normally a good option as you can move the focus point around the screen, so typically for shots I compose I’ll use this and then for others I’ll use centre focus or wide and let the camera find the subjects to focus on.
hello! I’ve been watching your videos a lot recently and am curious if you know of a good budget friendly camera in the range of $400 - $800 I could buy and fit good lenses on? I’m trying to get into photography but have no clue what to do and need a decent camera at least to start. Thank you and amazing videos!
@ thanks! if you’ve been thinking about doing a video on your settings for the action 5 for pov, please feel free 😂 the quality looks really good! i’m using the gopro 11 right now, and i’m not super satisfied with the quality
This is attached with a snapmount it’s two magnets one goes inside your hoody / top one goes on the outside. If you search snapmount chest mount it should come up 🙏
It’s a focus plain, so if you’re focusing on something in the distance then everything at that distance will be in focus. The closer the subject is to your camera the more separation there will be between what’s focused and unfocused in the background, the further away the subject is the more it’ll appear in focus as the separation is less. Hope this helps!
I'll like and comment to try and help how I can. Have you considered meeting up with a sub and trying a sort of pro vs amateur style vid? Either shooting the same locations and advising on composition and settings. Or they have your good camera and you use an old camera etc. You may have done similar before. Just a suggestion.
I have considered it but I’ve seen it done by others like northborders and wouldn’t want to copy their ideas. So I’ll take the advice and see if I can adjust the idea to make it different and see what I can do ❤️
@@Opticalwander how about.... inspired by the artist Ten Hun with his art challenges. Get two spinning wheels, one with locations and another with photo ideas. Either you solo or vs someone else. For example wheel one lands on St Pauls and the second wheel lands on long exposure etc.
Only around the mount not the lens it’s self, I’ve never had an issue with it with various conditions but of course over time it’ll have its draw backs!
@ ohhh okay got ya, I have one sigma lens and I have been quite fearful when it comes to any type of precipitation. But after hearing that might give it a shot🫡

the type of a video that makes you want to grab your camera and rush out to the city even tho its 2 am in the morning
Best time to shoot a city is 2am in the morning 📸 you can stay up until sunrise then 😂
Some great stuff as always. Happy New Year!
Such stylish street photography.😍
Thank you 🙏 it means a lot 😊

Wonderful work as usual, Thank you Samuel!

The guy tutting at you - what a melt
I know right 😂😂

sick photos sam. Am curious about what action camera u use
I use the dji Osmo action 5
awesome video! what are you using as your pov camera? looks great!

banging photos, is this equivalent to the sigma 10-18mm 2.8 apsc lens?
I believe it’s similar yes! 🙏
@@Opticalwander nice, i've never gone wider than 18mm before, does the sigma get a lot of distortion wide open?
i am new to photography and i cant understnad how f2.8 keeps in focus almost the whole image , isnt the higher F9-f22 for having in focus more ?

Weather rated lens?

I'm trying to sell my 16-35mm 2.8 to get the sigma 16-28. Too many lenses with a 35mm cross over and smaller size and weight! Winner!
This lense is not ART? so not weathersealed right?
