  • Tom Lehrer is best known for his satirical songs from Cold War era America. Though many of his songs are sixty years old, they still hold up to this day. Lehrer is celebrating his 95th birthday this month, so in honor of the joyful occasion, here is a compilation of many of his greatest songs!

Fr. Guy is 96 and still going strong, his whole life is a flex. Taught at Harvard, became one of the best political satirists the U.S. has ever had, quit when he wanted, still loved by many today, and may reach 100.
      He's been kicking life's ass since '28.

LOVE this man!!! I was introduced to him by my 7th grade teacher.
I am 69 now. He released his first album in Boston, in the mid fifties. 1000 copies. They were pulled from the shelves as "too subversive". I am thrilled to say I have one of them. What a treasure. Many of those songs are in this compilation. . God be with you and bless you, Tom. You have blessed so many with your talent.

@@cherrypichick6782 Borge and Lehrer were two towering father figures for modern musical comedy. They're both very funny. I really appreciate Tom's biting satire and sarcasm, much of which is still very relevant today. Even earlier, in the 1880s, I imagine Gilbert and Sullivan must have had their audiences ROFL. When I took my family to see a very well done performance of The Pirates of Penzance in 2022 my 29-year-old daughter could hardly stop giggling and bursting out laughing at the pompous portrayal of the Major-General, whose main tune Lehrer borrowed for his The Elements.
