Thanks, nickels are a wise investment due to their intrinsic value and I do like them for that reason primarily. This is another reason why we coin roll search. Errors like you show here could be the added bonus with which one could buy lots more boxes, and still pay the bills. Save nickles.
Shawn, FYI Early date (Pre '82) CANADIAN Nickels were 99% Nickel. United States Nickels are ONLY 25% Nickel and 75% Copper, except during WWII when the were a 35% Silver alloy. They are not normally a sandwich type planchet, what you have is a wrong planchet strike.
OK i have a question for you . if the coin looks to have been double struck ,the coin has twin rings around the out side of the coin but the clay dose not show threw like they struck the coin a second time .. and yes it is 1987 P and clearly a error coin of some kind ...relate to what your talking about ..the error is seen on both sides of the coin edge and not on the flat of the sides like where you show the clad sandwich ,this looks wide and normal flat on the flat side of the coin .you see how the coin you show has a press mark that ends near the top of the word Liberty this has that same mold mark but it ends even with the L in Liberty ,and that error is seen on both side of the coin face front and back ..the coin is in clear ,clean detail ..
Never understood how something that's 98% nickel, second after Iron for magnetism, isn't magnetic. All the coins in the world that are made out of nickel are super magnetic. But for some reason by the great alchemical process we decided to make nickel coins non-magnetic. How?
That would be cool to pull a copper nickel clad nick. I have a 1942 P. war nickel that has double the silver content as a regular war nickel. Also verified by NGC if you would like to take a look I’m easy to find. Great video once again this one was really cool because it helps verify other finds similar in the future.
I almost always find this year to be well struck. I don't know why and I don't prefer the shallow lacy impressions of the 90's strikes over the 80's even though they all have full steps.
Reminds me of all the strange coins I found as a kid and hurried to trade it back cause they gave me change that was messed up and broke, ripping me off ....lol until dad explained a little about coins to me lol
Thanks for the information ! Merry Christmas and Wishing You a Happy New Year. Hey Daniel with CoinHelpU has a question about the 1975 Jefferson Nickel Maybe you could help him out Thanks :)))
You advice not to go crazy with modern coins wishing for a high grade. Two years ago I got lucky, my 1987-d Jefferson came back as a NGC ms 67 fs. That was a beginner ‘s luck. Since then I’ve been the “ victim” of your advice. I’ve sent a lot to be graded, this time with no luck. So be it. I enjoy the game.
@@BlueRidgeSilverhound Yes sir, and you? Monday I will be sending some coins your way to get your advice. You and your family have a great weekend as well.
I like collecting nickels!! I have nickels that has copper look to both sides, the letter's are kind of cut off!! Have not checked the edges!! Edges look good with copper, on one of them!! It looks like a layer, is missing on both sides it's a 1971 D!! You help me thanks!!
I believe it was some time back I also inquired about a 2002 Lincoln penny which his eyes, nose and a spot on his ear appear to be bleeding. If anybody out there has information on those two coins a little help would be much appreciated thank you
Do the 1989 D Nickel have the same error! This coin Puzzle me a lot. Full Reverse full black. Obverse half black the edges silver and black I think it's a full copper Nickel. With tone.?????? Similar to the 1987 p Nickel error. Edge.
Hey man I cant find anything on a 1939 with no mark ...... but Jefferson has a capital B in Jefferson from the top of his shirt and stops a little after the second part of the his shirt... it's crazy and no one can tell me anything about it or seen anything like this ... and I've was given this back in my change 5-6 years ago . This coin looks very good or better 2000s some of what .... is there anyone that can help me ... I would really appreciate it so very much
I know I had this error in my hand a long time ago when I didn't know what it was. I just looked at the copper/silver motley edge and wondered...Long lost...
You definitely do the homework and share the knowledge, Thanks Mr. Silverhound 😊

What about a 2005 Kansas quarter I have that looking at the edge is solid nickel, no copper, is that a mint error?
There were silver proof state quarters made. Check if it has an "s" mintmark.

Goodmorning Sir Shawn😘🙏
I WILL DEFIANTLY BE LOOKING FOR THE. 1987 jeffersons now...
THANX = BLUE =RIDGE !!
Defiantly? Lol.
THANK you Shaun. I check out every aspect of my coins.
Margaret Stoner sounds like you have a lot of time on your hands
Hello sir, question...
do 1959 (no mint) penny, dime, nickel, and half dollar have value? I mean these are uncirculated items.
Thank you.
i have a 1987 D can you help me what value now?
I almost always find this year to be well struck. I don't know why and I don't prefer the shallow lacy impressions of the 90's strikes over the 80's even though they all have full steps.
So what happens when you have one with the copper on the obverse and the edge?
Pray you are well! Happy New year🌹
What if you have one that the copper is showing on the edge and Jefferson's face?
Reminds me of all the strange coins I found as a kid and hurried to trade it back cause they gave me change that was messed up and broke, ripping me off ....lol until dad explained a little about coins to me lol
Thanks for sharing info like this, much appreciated.
I have Five CENTs 1987p
I think I have found one with full steps for the 1987 D, and it is in really good shape. I came upon it on accident
I have a 1987D that weighs 4.6 and it is solid copper on back side and front is silver. Is this a common error?
Hi , I have a 2014 nickel with a line straight in the eye , my questions is if it has value ?
Thank you I didn't know worth. I HAVE IT UNCERCULATED 😂
I have a 1987D and 3 Ps with full stairs but no copper edges.😮
I check the edges for silver as I open nickel rolls, so I should be able to spot one that way, if it comes my way.
