Gee Taste Good is definitely one of my favourite places for lunch. I usually order the lobster laksa ($17) and the Hainese Chicken ($12). Prices are as of March 30, 2022 :)
I always drive by there and never knew there was a food court there! That little place is going to be very busy!!! I am going to show them the video and say give me everything that Tim had!
It's totally hidden and so hard to find... Who would have thought there would be a food hall over there. Definitely worth the search; its very good :-)

I think you've outdone yourself Tim: this vid made me want to move to Richmond. I've had some amazing food experiences in Richmond in the past with dim sum and other Chinese restaurants, but this showcase of Southeast Asian dishes has blown me away. Where I live in Canada you cannot, unfortunately, find these kind of restaurants.

Enjoying your reviews of local restaurants in Metro Vancouver. Many local Asians don't even know about Pacific Plaza, let alone their food court. And there's another "mall" across the street called Admiralty Centre with its own tiny but diverse food court too. It would be good if in your video intro you provided info on what and where Pacific Plaza is (address, Richmond, etc) instead of jumping right in to entering the building.

Wow lived in Richmond more than 15 yrs and never new about this food court. Origin coffee, Gee Taste Good and Taikoo yummy food are available for delivery on Fantuan so I’ll definitely try everything through delivery first and when things are better, I’ll pay a visit there! Fantastic! Thank you 🙏🏻
It's really hard to find, and I suspect that the food delivery folks would have much better luck 😃. Hope you do give it a try, it's one of my favorites 🙂
Hey Tim. Glad to hear things are improving. The U.S. is over 50% vaccination rate. We actually have dropped the mask mandates and capacity limits. We still wear masks on rare occasions, grocery store, etc. Keeping our fingers crossed that we are slowing down and we don't have a bounce surge. Hoping the same for our good friends up north.
Thank you again... things are going well here too as the vaccination uptake is quite high... Hopefully I can get my follow-up shot in the next month. Great to hear things are getting back to normal over there!

Hi Tim! I wanted to mention my fiancé and I went here today! It was a bit of a struggle finding an atm but the lady at Gee was the sweetest and said we can e transfer her! I told her that we can here because of your video and said so many people are. So that’s amazing! The food was amazing! Laksa was creamy so much flavour the beef was so soft. We had a few other dishes like the fried rice and some sides very good. Thank you so much for the video and these places!

I have always wondered about this mysterious food court that I had heard about, thank you for "taking" us there. I will have to try it out one day soon. So many yummy things to try. We may have to go multiple times to try everything that you tried.
This food court is FANTASTIC !!! The Lobster Laksa is definitely a STEAL @ $14 C ($11.32 US); in the NYC area, a raw lobster tail alone, that size will cost you $25. If I was there, I would have ordered at least 5 of them for take out; a lobster dish that cost the same amount of most chicken dishes.
It's quite nice to find these small mom and pop places... Yeah, the food prices in Vancouver can cost a lot also so definitely nice to have these places around 😀
Nice video! Love that you visit some truly hidden joints. I'd like to suggest three hole-in-the-wall type of restaurants all on the South side of Victoria Dr.: 1). El Caracol Cafe--a no non-sense family style Mexican, Honduran & Salvadoran restaurant. You know you're in good hands when the chefs are two grandmas (maybe!) who barely speak any English. The majority of the regulars here are also Latinos. The decor and service are simple but the food is amazing! Must tries are: papusas (remember to add LOTS of the pickled cabbage and the tomato sauce) and seafood soup. The rice is YUMMY! Yuca con chicarron is also delicious. 2). Northern Cafe and Grill--One of the last surviving original diners in Vancouver. It's been around since 1949! It's a super down-to-earth diner tucked away on the second floor of a lumber yard/building supply centre. Nothing is level in that restaurant but their simple diner food is delicious, especially the Deluxe Burger. It's an unusual time right now so the owner probably won't come out to chit-chat with you. Before the pandemics, and I assume after this is all over, the owner Jimmy (and sometimes his son Raymond) comes out to greet you with the biggest warmest smile. In the last few years they've been getting a lot of media exposures so there are people from all over the world to try to find this hidden gem. It's not a surprise because they are actually top 5 most popular restaurants on Yelp! in Canada! 3). Amay’s House--Authentic Burmese cuisine. Their laksa is considered by many to be the best in Vancouver. The pratas (especially with an egg) and myanmar tea leaf salad are also worth trying. I hope you will visit these three very deserving restaurants soon! Northern Cafe can be very busy during lunch time these days due to the limited seating so you might want to plan a morning visit.

Hello Tim, it's Marilou (Evelyn's friend). Me and hubby go there for our comfort food! The Yang Chow fried rice and white chicken from the one beside the cake shop are the staple. Will try the Laksa with Evelyn someday. Thanks for sharing!! Power on!

We had that type of mango cake for our wedding, very delicious. You can only get it when mangoes are in season which happens to be right now so get one when can!
Tim- The Pacific Mall in Scarborough Ontario has an amazing food court you should try. It is Chinese food from different regions. They also have pulled noodle soups and dishes.

The cake workshop didn't have anything on display, but that could have been due to me coming in at 4pm. Thanks again for the video!

LoL, Jade, I was actually quite intrigued with the coffee and oysters as well. It's my first time going to the coffee/oyster bar; two of my favorite bars together. I actually don't mind durian as much now, but it's the initial hit that still gets me...I can eat it, but it wouldn't be my first pick :-)

Wonderful little food court, looks like the food could be served in high end restaurants at three times the price and still be worth it, I can see that you are not a fan of durian, could you describe the smell and flavor, Albert certainly likes it.

I really like the beef rendang 😋. Laksa is always good and the lobster made it a little bit fancy, but the beef was really the nice surprise and I would definitely go back for that. And that cake was a nice surprise also! It's hard to describe, but the sponge cake had a texture to that of cotton candy... No egginess nor chewiness. I've never cake at Michelle's before, but so far this is the best cream-fruit cake I've had. I think I will need to head over to Michelle's to find out though 😋.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Well you've definitely convinced me to try Pacific Plaza. I mean with the cake, the lobster...and the fresh oysters on the half shell, all at a food court, how can you go wrong! You should definitely try out Michelle's in Kerrisdale. It's a real staple Chinese bakery on the West side. I highly suggest their mango sponge cake! Thanks again for sharing Tim!
The Hainan chicken looks really good. I think they put the chicken into some ice-cold water right after it's cooked in the boiling water so that the chicken skin is a little chewy and you can see some jelly between the skin and meat.

It was quite fun to visit all the food stalls but one tends to fill up rather quickly...kinda like those Vegas buffets :-) yeah, there was a surprisingly a large amount of desserts featuring durian... definitely worth a try in case you find you like it; but I would suggest a cold durian dessert if you do :-)

WOW! Looks Good Tim! Didn't know they had that type of food in Vancouver. Was surprised at how reasonably priced the lobster was. Everything you ordered looked yummy! Happy Eating and thanks for the Covid update as to how Canada is doing!

I have always wondered about this mysterious food court that I had heard about, thank you for "taking" us there. I will have to try it out one day soon. So many yummy things to try. We may have to go multiple times to try everything that you tried.

The Lobster Laksa is definitely a STEAL @ $14 C ($11.32 US); in the NYC area, a raw lobster tail alone, that size will cost you $25.
If I was there, I would have ordered at least 5 of them for take out; a lobster dish that cost the same amount of most chicken dishes.
It's quite nice to find these small mom and pop places... Yeah, the food prices in Vancouver can cost a lot also so definitely nice to have these places around 😀

Nice video! Love that you visit some truly hidden joints. I'd like to suggest three hole-in-the-wall type of restaurants all on the South side of Victoria Dr.: 1). El Caracol Cafe--a no non-sense family style Mexican, Honduran & Salvadoran restaurant. You know you're in good hands when the chefs are two grandmas (maybe!) who barely speak any English. The majority of the regulars here are also Latinos. The decor and service are simple but the food is amazing! Must tries are: papusas (remember to add LOTS of the pickled cabbage and the tomato sauce) and seafood soup. The rice is YUMMY! Yuca con chicarron is also delicious. 2). Northern Cafe and Grill--One of the last surviving original diners in Vancouver. It's been around since 1949! It's a super down-to-earth diner tucked away on the second floor of a lumber yard/building supply centre. Nothing is level in that restaurant but their simple diner food is delicious, especially the Deluxe Burger. It's an unusual time right now so the owner probably won't come out to chit-chat with you. Before the pandemics, and I assume after this is all over, the owner Jimmy (and sometimes his son Raymond) comes out to greet you with the biggest warmest smile. In the last few years they've been getting a lot of media exposures so there are people from all over the world to try to find this hidden gem. It's not a surprise because they are actually top 5 most popular restaurants on Yelp! in Canada! 3). Amay’s House--Authentic Burmese cuisine. Their laksa is considered by many to be the best in Vancouver. The pratas (especially with an egg) and myanmar tea leaf salad are also worth trying. I hope you will visit these three very deserving restaurants soon! Northern Cafe can be very busy during lunch time these days due to the limited seating so you might want to plan a morning visit.

We had that type of mango cake for our wedding, very delicious. You can only get it when mangoes are in season which happens to be right now so get one when can!

Tim- The Pacific Mall in Scarborough Ontario has an amazing food court you should try. It is Chinese food from different regions. They also have pulled noodle soups and dishes.

Tried it today. The lobster laksa was delicious. The cake workshop didn't have anything on display, but that could have been due to me coming in at 4pm.

LoL, Jade, I was actually quite intrigued with the coffee and oysters as well. It's my first time going to the coffee/oyster bar; two of my favorite bars together. I actually don't mind durian as much now, but it's the initial hit that still gets me...I can eat it, but it wouldn't be my first pick :-)

Though I did want some clarification that the beef was better than the lobster, and that the mango cake was the best cake that you have ever had? That's really impressive! So we are talking better than Vancouver standards like Michelle's?

I really like the beef rendang 😋. Laksa is always good and the lobster made it a little bit fancy, but the beef was really the nice surprise and I would definitely go back for that. And that cake was a nice surprise also! It's hard to describe, but the sponge cake had a texture to that of cotton candy... No egginess nor chewiness. I've never cake at Michelle's before, but so far this is the best cream-fruit cake I've had. I think I will need to head over to Michelle's to find out though 😋.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Well you've definitely convinced me to try Pacific Plaza. I mean with the cake, the lobster...and the fresh oysters on the half shell, all at a food court, how can you go wrong!
You should definitely try out Michelle's in Kerrisdale. It's a real staple Chinese bakery on the West side. I highly suggest their mango sponge cake!

The Hainan chicken looks really good. I think they put the chicken into some ice-cold water right after it's cooked in the boiling water so that the chicken skin is a little chewy and you can see some jelly between the skin and meat.

It was quite fun to visit all the food stalls but one tends to fill up rather quickly...kinda like those Vegas buffets :-) yeah, there was a surprisingly a large amount of desserts featuring durian... definitely worth a try in case you find you like it; but I would suggest a cold durian dessert if you do :-)
