Personally, I'm eating that game regardless since I'm that much of a fan and also like to discover the game from start to finish without knowing too much ahead of time (Dread kindoff traumatized me in this respect). I also know enough about this series to know that whatever innovation they have in store will most definitely be introduced as a new suit upgrade to "justify" the new and refined combat, and this is definitely a seen from the beginning of the game. Anyway, I'm staying cautiously optimistic, but I agree that knowing some more would've been better.
It should've been the game of the direct and it definitely wasn't. Zelda got way more attention on social media and double the views despite being a 2D entry.

Exactly, not sure why no one is bringing this up. Even if Prime 4 is in 20X9 and Super Metroid is in 20X7, Super Metroid can still be after Prime 4 by being a decade after.
I am very satisfied with the contents of the Trailer. And I didn't have to scream like a moron. I did notice similarities between Prime 4 and 3. The Space Pirates and HUD Interface reminded me a bit to much like the Arbiter and the HUD of Halo. Despite that I remain confident that the end of the Trailer is going to be the typical Metroidvania Gameplay.
RE: Switch 1 vs Switch 2. Ya'lls thinking is locked in the past. Do you repurchase your games when upgrading from a 1070 to a 4070? They'll release one Metroid Prime 4 and it will work on both systems. Just like with PC settings, the difference on Switch 2 could easily be greater than just resolution and FPS.. But yeah, what we saw there is not selling consoles. Most of the market isn't super excited for 20 year old gameplay and enemy animations. God of War 2018, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon, Breath of the Wild. Those sell consoles. This aint it.
lighting & color depth might look better kn Switch 2 (besides framerate smothness & ofc resolution) ... I do hope MP4 is released with the Switch 2, as a launch title ... the Wii U & Switch were too similar, to give Botw a bigger difference.., but the Switch 2 has next-gen features)
I'm going to be called a hater for this, but this was an extremely disappointing trailer. Nothing about it was impressive. I was just happy that they've finally shown it. I was shocked to hear that people thought it was a Switch 2 game. I thought the graphics were so clearly og Switch hardware. I'll happily wait until it releases on the Switch successor.
There’s a reason why they don’t do a complete blowout of the Game. Look at Other M or Metroid Dread reveal, those trailers sell you the game immediately with the first trailer. I’m 100% convinced that the reason of a 2025 is for show the full trailer with Switch 2 reveal.
As much as I'd love to see metroids implicated in something so bad it warrants their extinction, it obviously wouldn't be that bad considering the federation just tried to breed and clone them later on
He makes me laugh having such a problem with Samus' suite and the size of her shoulders 😂. Like there would be many credible reasons to explain why it's so big lol. Also it's more iconic of course.
Honestly I think it’s too early to say either way. It’s only the first trailer that showed off a fair amount of seconds of gameplay but only for probably the very beginning of the game. So of course it’s going to look like the rest of the Prime games in the beginning. While I am hyped, I’m going to wait until we see more trailers and play the game myself to give my own take
Feel the same. Trailer makes it feel like this game is just DLC. The combat system, mechanics, enemy movements. It all looks exactly unchanged. Did you get the feeling that Retro was just done with Metroid after prime 3? The enthusiasm doesn't really feel like it's there in this trailer.
@@MannwhichI could NOT disagree more, if “they didn’t care” this game would not have been made at all, retro had a long break from prime before Nintendo asked them to make it in 2019. ALSO, the level of detail in the trailer is absurd
They shouldn't have used the space pirate theme music (one of the only weak tracks in Prime 1), and the immediate cut directly to the title with no fade or effects whatsoever felt abrupt and cheap. But other than those two big flaws, I loved the reveal. It looks so good.
That also bugged me. That last impression you'd think they'd want to avoid prime 4 feeling like a rehash of what came before. Pirate theme being reused in all 4 games is just.....
I feel like Doeboy, it still doesn't feel real. I think if there's a Switch 2 version announced alongside the Switch 2 reveal, THEN I'll properly freak out 😅
34:02 ...Zelda did it, cross gen release with BOTW was in part due to the Wii U floundering... why release such an ambitious 3D Zelda game, Nintendo's most ambitious internally developed game in general, on a 13 mil install base only when new hardware was on the horizon? With Prime 4 it's different, Switch is a massive success with a 140+ million install base, so the incentive to make the game cross gen is less but still feasible in the sense that more people would be able to play the game and it can serve as a graphical showcase game for Switch 2, not day 1 at launch, as a new 3D Mario will take that crown, but in the launch window...
Of corse it is Worth the Wait for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond one of the Greatest upcoming games in 2025 for Nintendo Switch and maybe Nintendo Switch 2 too who knows! 😮❤
I don't mean to be insensitive, but is the guy on top right blind or partly blind? Just curious because I'm wondering how that would impact playing videogames. I might be wrong but I thought his eyes and his mannerisms gave me that impression
and whats the issue with that? We havent had a prime game in 17 years lol. If there had been consistent metroid prime games, then i understand wanting something new. But why would we want something completely different after not having anything for 20 years?
Because games, specially fpv ones have evolved significantly. If you can bring anything of value to the series then wait for until you can. Thos is why many people think the trailer wasnt enough. They should have shown what makes this game unique from the rest of the series.
right? my main issue is the combat. Strafing to the right to dodge brainless enemy ai just isn't fun anymore. It was alright back in prime 1 but are we really still doing the same basic boring combat in prime 4? I know we haven't seen much but man, I hope it's evolved.
I’ve waited for this game specifically for the last 7 years. I think it was worth it, they gave a great tease. I don’t quite understand why people have found it underwhelming, it was the “we have one more thing to share” reveal and it had gameplay! Lots of game reveals don’t show gameplay, it was refreshing to see something that wasn’t a JPEG. The content they showed was good too, do people really want it revealing more? There was complaints that the Dread trailer showed too much 😂
While it's nice to see that the game still exists.... ...no, this 'trailer' was a pretty lousy way to show off the game after all these years. As if they slapped together this footage in five minutes. Graphically, it looks 'good'. For Switch anyway. But after all the years of hype and how it supposedly had "incredible" graphics, I'll admit, I'm a bit dissapointed. Not sure what I was expecting, but yeah. I actually wish they did just delay it to be a real 'Switch 2 ' stunner. But then again, the 'Switch 2' is 99% most likely going to have pretty much the same graphics capabilities as the current Switch (like going from GameCube to Wii, or if we're lucky, Wii U to Switch).
you realize we got a toned-down, 720p trailer of a game that runs in 990p or whatever. like prime remastered looked WAY better natively than it did in trailers. Even then, bro, it's been 7 years since it was announced. They couldve left the trailer at samus jumping out of her ship and it still wouldve been epic and insanely exciting. tell me youre not a fan without telling youre not a fan type aaaah
This is a really silly question. We haven't played the game yet so how are we supposed to know if it's worth the wait? Basing the quality of a game off its trailer is...not smart.
As a prime fan, I agree. They're still using a lock on system in a combat heavy fps, and justifying it by classifying the game as... something else. FPA whatever.
Metroid Prime 4 needs to launch on Switch and Next Switch at the same tim. Otherwise is going to fail, we’re talking about Metroid, it needs Switch 2 in order to get more sales in the begining.
How are there actually people defending that dog water of a trailer we got? The game should be good im sure. But that trailer was the complete opposite of hype.
I think they had to show it because it was promised as switch game since 2017, saving the full blowout with switch 2 footage, after it’s reveal to show it in it’s full glory. But it’s Nintendo, so who knows… Nintendo loves a dramatic trailer close to release though.
@headeraser you are definitely correct about showing the best for last. And I guess that makes sense, since it was promised for switch 1. I just think a 30 second trailer with a cgi scene would've been cooler. So we see her design, a cool little action sequence would've got me more hype than this. Cause honestly this looks like it was just thrown together last second lol
Exactly! Nintendo/metroid fanboys that's why. Gamers in general are easy to please when they want to be hyped for something. It was a disappointing showing.
It looked disappointing tbh and i wasn't hyping myself up either. The shooting looked exactly the same and the pirates just stood there, no strategy involved. If they want this game to be huge then they did a terrible job with that trailer... why? Because Metroid fans were gonna buy this anyway . If anything they made it look boring! Especially after the doom trailer was so fast paced. I don't care for doom but typical gamers do, and Nintendo failed big time
Yes 2D Metroid is absolutely top tier gaming. I love it so much. I still haven’t got super into Prime Remastered yet. The combat is just ok so far. I’ll have to go back to it soon but playing more 2D Metroid in meantime which again is gaming at its finest. I’m hoping they make updates to Prime 4 to make the combat more interesting.
Just a theory... Cosmic year and planetary years may be very different in scale? maybe several Earth years fit into a Cosmic year?

4th game in the series & after more than 20 years the unveil is the basic gameplay of 2001 with the visuals around the ballpark of lasts years remake.
Game could end up being worthwhile but speaking objectively 😋 (rationaly & wit constructive criticsm in mind) what they did show wasnt much to write home about.
@@Refreshment01 Yeah, I def understand the concern. They'll definitely show more trailers down the line since this is still a substantial way from release.
It's a 14 year wait since the last MP
It should've been the game of the direct and it definitely wasn't. Zelda got way more attention on social media and double the views despite being a 2D entry.
After 7 years of waiting they decide to show 90 seconds of gameplay that make it look like a prettier version of Prime 3, like what?
I'm very hyped. trailer or not.
Retro are one of the best devs in the industry i have so much trust in them. But just to see that prime 4 is exactly the game we wanted and fits right in with the rest of the trilogy brings me so much comfort as well.
Gonna be an absolute banger.
Really was hoping this was a Switch 2 exclusive. The Switch is holding this game back from what it could've been. Not to say the game looks bad or anything, but I was hoping for more.
Game still looks awesome and I'm stoked to play it.
In what way Switch was holding the game back from?
@@lol-ih1tl Don't you think if the game was exclusive to Switch 2, it would've looked a whole lot better?
Don't get me wrong, the game looks fine already but it could've been significantly better if they'd made it exclusively for Switch 2.
Much like how a game made exclusively for the ps4 looks a whole lot better and can do more than a ps3 game.
@@OmegaMetroid93 but it would also be way more expensive to develop. With the jump to Switch 2, the development costs of Nintendo games will skyrocket.
Is it somewhat confirmed that the cosmic calendar calculates 20x5 to 20x6 as only 1 year or could there be severel gregorian years between one galactical year!?
That could confirm comercials like "it plays after 3 years" but we don't know how years in between are referenced if at all by the comsic calendar.
The X in 20Xwhatever could also switch decades
Of course it is. I mean...what else is there for this anyway. Still predicting a next-gen release too
Everyone already knows your answer it is something no one cares cause it gonna be proven wrong yet again as always
Mans talkin about being stressed because we can’t play MP4 on a switch 2. We have it so good in the modern world 😂
RE: Switch 1 vs Switch 2.
😂😅 true prime know it been longer for a new prime. Can’t wait for this game day one buy. 😂😅🎉
lighting & color depth might look better kn Switch 2 (besides framerate smothness & ofc resolution)
...
I do hope MP4 is released with the Switch 2, as a launch title
...
the Wii U & Switch were too similar, to give Botw a bigger difference.., but the Switch 2 has next-gen features)
1:15 you think 7:45am is early? Bro I was up at 2:45am
It was such a tease
As much as I'd love to see metroids implicated in something so bad it warrants their extinction, it obviously wouldn't be that bad considering the federation just tried to breed and clone them later on
He makes me laugh having such a problem with Samus' suite and the size of her shoulders 😂. Like there would be many credible reasons to explain why it's so big lol. Also it's more iconic of course.
20X9 could either be a flashback or a flash Forward we have no idea
MP4: Beyond will probably be a New 3DS situation like certain games on the 3DS preformed better on the New 3DS.
Prime Remastered and Prime 4 look mechanically and visually similar and share a nearby release schedule, they totally aren’t the same engine! 😂
The trailer is great.
It does everything it needs to do mostly.
Honestly I think it’s too early to say either way. It’s only the first trailer that showed off a fair amount of seconds of gameplay but only for probably the very beginning of the game. So of course it’s going to look like the rest of the Prime games in the beginning. While I am hyped, I’m going to wait until we see more trailers and play the game myself to give my own take
Somebody can not stop breathing super heavy into their mic
fear the timeline is set roughly by the PR team.., not the devs (hope the devs step in and fix this)
I have absolutely no hype for this game but I'm sure it's gonna be good!
@@Mannwhich Yeah I get the same feeling. But I'm still hopeful it's just a bad trailer.
@@thierrymercure Agreed! And that's ok. More to come!
@@MannwhichI could NOT disagree more, if “they didn’t care” this game would not have been made at all, retro had a long break from prime before Nintendo asked them to make it in 2019. ALSO, the level of detail in the trailer is absurd
@@HDGamerofficial I haven't said anything about graphics fidelity.
I assumed the cosmic year was a hint that the game would feature time travel.
It was good, but ngl more gameplay would've made it more exciting. Maybe showing off a new upgrade or something.
That logo drop was so underwhelming, it just popped up as soon they ran out of footage LOL
I feel like Doeboy, it still doesn't feel real. I think if there's a Switch 2 version announced alongside the Switch 2 reveal, THEN I'll properly freak out 😅
All I want is metroid hunters style multiplayer
It they released it like they did Dread, with three months from trailer to release, then yes. They needed to give more content.

I’m excited. But incredibly underwhelming trailer.
Yes
First!
I don't mean to be insensitive, but is the guy on top right blind or partly blind? Just curious because I'm wondering how that would impact playing videogames. I might be wrong but I thought his eyes and his mannerisms gave me that impression
Its so dumb that they are releasing it on Switch1. It could have been a system seller for switch2
No in my opinion it just looks like more of the same with a slight graphical upgrade
and whats the issue with that? We havent had a prime game in 17 years lol. If there had been consistent metroid prime games, then i understand wanting something new. But why would we want something completely different after not having anything for 20 years?
Because games, specially fpv ones have evolved significantly. If you can bring anything of value to the series then wait for until you can.
Thos is why many people think the trailer wasnt enough. They should have shown what makes this game unique from the rest of the series.
@@Refreshment01 👆 Exactly this
@@Refreshment01The jump in visuals is absolutely staggering, Prime 3 was 480p it’s 17 years old!
right? my main issue is the combat. Strafing to the right to dodge brainless enemy ai just isn't fun anymore. It was alright back in prime 1 but are we really still doing the same basic boring combat in prime 4? I know we haven't seen much but man, I hope it's evolved.
Do we expect anything less from Nintendo tho?
Nintendo always finds a new way to disappoint
I been waking up at 4 for work. And ya gonna be saying it was really early at 7.😂
I’ve waited for this game specifically for the last 7 years.
It was fairly anti climactic. The game looks good in terms of gameplay but the graphics left a lot to be desired
SMH. Oh shut up.
you realize we got a toned-down, 720p trailer of a game that runs in 990p or whatever. like prime remastered looked WAY better natively than it did in trailers. Even then, bro, it's been 7 years since it was announced. They couldve left the trailer at samus jumping out of her ship and it still wouldve been epic and insanely exciting. tell me youre not a fan without telling youre not a fan type aaaah
A Metroid prime 4 with 2002 graphics will still be the best game above many of these recent years.
Hi Joey yes I been waiting as long as you and it's the only game I buy the other switch games don't interest me
Dumb question. It’s the game we‘re waiting for, not a trailer or reveal. What are you even talking about
Oop
What are u “even”? Even

Shhhhhhhhhhhh. Let people be excited for things.
Say it with me. “CONTENT”.
That Doeboy dude doesn't know what he's talking about smh
Do you ever think about dying and death?
I dont, maybe sometimes i do. Because i love METROID
nah that trailer really wasnt it. super boring especially after all the build up. game will still prob be good tho
No wasn’t worth the wait to look like a rehash of past games
Rehash is all nintendo is capable of making lol

Metroid Prime 4 isn't really worth the wait seeing that the we only have Prime one remastered. Also, sales of the series is once again in decline.
The hype is real! OMG ❤
X is a placeholder in 20X9 right? Meaning X can stand for any number 0-9.
No the Metroid years always had that X in that position
@@mds_main But still
This is a really silly question. We haven't played the game yet so how are we supposed to know if it's worth the wait? Basing the quality of a game off its trailer is...not smart.
What else on Switch is there to talk about? Exactly. Nothing
As a non Metroid fan, this sure didn't win me over.
As a prime fan, I agree. They're still using a lock on system in a combat heavy fps, and justifying it by classifying the game as... something else. FPA whatever.
I'm a metroid fan. A huge metroid fan, and this trailer was ASS. compared to that doom trailer... you feel me?
@@Cursedtobless I feel ya. Prime 4 feels more like an expansion pack doesn't it?
It sure does. A joke compared to that Doom trailer. This was one of the most disappointing gameplay reveals for a hyped game ive ever seen.
@@mgxzazfbyjuchrisclarkvpz236 Something tells me they were done with Prime 3. As in, they were bored with making Metroid titles.
Metroid Prime 4 needs to launch on Switch and Next Switch at the same tim. Otherwise is going to fail, we’re talking about Metroid, it needs Switch 2 in order to get more sales in the begining.
The comments section of this video is literally the phrase "It's impossible to please Nintendo fans"
Short Answer: No. For 7 whole years, just No.
Stress of trying to get the switch 2? Bro thats all part of the experience for the past 40 years
Yes it was worth the hype
Nintendo fanboys gladly eat any slop there given by big daddy nintendo
Exactly! Nintendo/metroid fanboys that's why. Gamers in general are easy to please when they want to be hyped for something. It was a disappointing showing.
in this thread: "I'd rather have a cgi trailer with no gameplay, just like the Xbox direct"
I don't care for doom but typical gamers do, and Nintendo failed big time
The graphics aren’t good.
As a 2D Metroid fan, I honestly couldn't care less. Dread was what blew my mind.
