Good video man. I like how it's straight and to the point with the different directions and views, especially the part where you went across the screen because alot of videos I view don't show it that way so it's hard to get an idea the speed it goes across the water. Thank you
I received mine in two pieces. The head was not mounted on the shaft/lower unit. I had to figure out how to hook up the parts. The black housing did not make allowance for the copper water intake. I have a small black rubber part with a hole I have no idea where it goes.
Hard starting little motor. Hopefully it gets better with break in. I have heard mixed reviews on this motor. One good thing. You will never get in trouble in a no wake zone😂
The engine is fine, just the same as any other brand. It's the components that let it down, so change plug, fuel lines, pull cord, and filter. I'm wondering if there's a better carb you can buy?
I just got mine yesterday and broke it in today it's a little beast. Do not use the 35:1 fuel mixture though and if you do, don't use their mixing jug. The fuel that I mixed was around 25:1 and it almost burnt up the motor. Also need to make a few modifications to the motor to make it run smoother. I'll be posting a vid later today on my channel of what I did to make mine run a little better.
Topwolf Outdoors have you had any problems with the water impeller? Mine was disconnected whenever I got it and the intake hose was kinked. I had to hook it up and shorten the hose.
Topwolf Outdoors I hear ya I been working a lot of overtime lately. It's also been raining down here a lot so I haven't really had a chance to even go out on the boat and test out repairs or the new trolling motor. I'll be doing an update tomorrow though so hopefully we will see if this 1436 of mine can be pushed by the hangkai.
Well, at least you noticed your missing plug before putting the boat in the water! I've known folks that have overlooked that! Good luck on your next trip with the fishing!
Great video.. looks like my back up motor i just broke down on the delta limped home on my trolling motor hours to get back plus I had to wait for the tied to change..
Unfortunately I went with price and the fact that this motor reversed position like it does. I was going to use it on my GoBoat but I bought a little canoe to use it on. Haven’t started it yet, but your video is great and informative. Much appreciated.
It is a great little motor as long as you do maintenance in the upkeep it will treat you well remember to replace the fuel line within the first four to five months of use and make sure the styrofoam balls are out of the water cooling ports thanks for watching enjoy
Good video! I just got a new Pelican Bass Raider 10 e. Its rated for a 3.5 hp motor. I think this motor would be just fine. I can't afford the popular brand motors that cost a thousand bucks. Have fun and good luck with your new motor!
+slingshot Hi Slingshot... Did you ever get this motor for your 10e ? I just got the same boat and am wondering how well it works with one. The boat will be for me and my girlfriend. A trolling motor and battery and a couple of rods and lunch and stuff. Do you recommend?
Would have done a pre start check ✅ oil in gearbox check water pump works, check nuts and bolts are tightened and run it in first before taking it out.😊
Donald, I think you need some more power. I would suggest getting a nice 5 horse Merc!! That will get you up on plane and moving to your favorite fishing hole in a nice quick manner!! Mark the K-9 from Michigan has one and he took it to God's lake and caught more fish than you could ever imagine!!!!
its still running great , just have not done a video out fishing the last few time, but yes I do need to do a update video..I will do one soon, thanks for watching..
Ok so ive had my 4HP 4 STROKE Lead all way. It tends to get pretty hot at about 20 minutes and theres Plastic hoses attatched to the cast alluminum engine block. The fuel line was also laying on it so i zip tied it up and away. I been running it in a Barral of water 15 minutes at a time then killing it. I have not gotten to open it up yet it pushes some water. I ran it 3 hours then changed the oil saw metal shavings from the fresh new piston. I replaced the oil been running it in the barral pushing water breaking it in gently before taking her out. It seems good though so far. I do wish it was water cooled because im scared getting it too hot will cause thermal expansion and contraction And mess up the cheap cast alluminum or melt the plastic hoses. If a hose melts I'll JB WELD it or Mcgyver a metal hose on it. . it is what it is... Cheapest motor out there but for $479 it pushes more water than i thought and it has a metal propeller thats a plus. I think it will last a long time as long as i dont over fill the oil. Let it overheat. Or Idle it with the propeller not spinning. The propeller must be spinning for the oil to flow. I'll video tape the first voyage with it on my 12 ft. Alluminum John boat.
@@OKTyGr The 4 HP Leadallway motor is doing good. Im getting ready to take my Dad and son out on it this weekend prolly. I did have 1 issue that was my fault. I was "hauling ass" Lol going max speed like 10-15 mph and i hit a Log under water hard. Broke a Shear pin and the plastic sleeve the pin sits in inside the metal propeller. I put a new shear pin in and molded a new thing to hold it. The only thing i didnt care for is it came with shear pins and tools but no plastic cup to hold shear pin. So i used JB weld and molded a new piece. Its good. Motor didnt stop running after i hit the log. The parts that were supposed to break broke saving the Motor.
Its quiet and doesnt burn oil. Starts right up and gets me from A to B with 3 guys and gear in the 11 ft V Bow john boat. Max speed is 10-15 mph. I did zip tie the fuel line up after i got it as it was sitting on the hot aluminum block. I ran it in a barral and changed oil every 3 hours run time to flush shavings out. Thats how i broke it in. We'll see how long it lasts. Anything that breaks I'll post it on here. So far its good though for the price.

So i got my hangkair motor today. Added gear oil and fuel mixture. Started it up and sounds good....except, the propeller wasnt moving. Do u know what the problem is? Does it need to idle awhile in water to loosen up or something. Or a special aligning of pin shear ,hub and propeller cap? Any help greatly appreciated. I just tested it in plastic tub of water not a lake.
Hey, I just bought one of these motors, mixed the fuel right and put it on a barrel and could not get it started. I am confused, I saw you put the choke on and turn off several times, but did not know where you had it when it finally started...can you tell me where to put the choke to start it. On or Off?
Ive just got this motor and its starting to smell like burning rubber after 2 days of play (about 7 hours in total ) any help please ive just taking the 7hour old gear oil out. Its black with peaces of waht looks like grounded metal
I changed my gear oil out before I even used it and did maintenance way before it needed to be done that may be why I had a good motor hope you figure it out and enjoy lots of happiness on the water
I once went to the lake with my boat, and realized my plug wasn't in the boat. I had left it on a work bench at home. I drove all the way home, and got out my cable and crimper, and cabled the plug to the back of the boat so you need heavy duty cutters to remove it. Now, everytime I take the boat to the lake - the plug is there.
Great lil video there bud. I suggest giving it 1/16th or 1/8th throttle when trying to start it up. Im used to small 2 stroke motors, i bet this is the same.
yooo I bought this 3.5 engine. I turned it on inside a bucket of water to test it but it turned off after 15 minutes ... doesn't it have water cooling system? I think it over heated ..what do you think ?
Check the spark plug. Mine had a bent prong and it shut off on the lake. No idea how it bent, but it happened. Yes, it has water cooling to it. The engine is supposed to run at 25:1, so if it did get hot, make sure to run it at that next time.
He bro my engine keeps turning off as soon as a stop giving throttle. Is it normal or something is wrong in my engine? And secondly my engineer is giving white smoke which goes inside the water but i can see it visibly is it also normal or something is wrong?
Hey dear thanks for the reply : I'm not sure if it's ethanol or non ethanol but I'm using 95 octane fuel. Second this I tried both choke on and off but still engine shuts off as soon as i lower the throttle. But i used choke as recommended (choke closed on starting, open choke when running the engine) have you ever had this issue?
+Brandon Johnson that might be asking a lot out of this little motor..It would be just to slow..,look for a 6hp in this type or like a reg merk 3 hp motor should do it ok.. have a great day... Donald
+Topwolf Outdoors I have . had plenty of different brand 3.5 hp motors and I can tell you its barely enough for 2 guys in a 10 foot flat bottom with nothing else on board go for the 5 or 6 even maybe 7.5 hp motors
I'm sure youve probably already figured it out, but the choke label is wrong. The "off" position actually turns the choke on, and the "on" position turns the choke off.
thank you for the video. I have this engine and trying to break it in with a bucket in my backyard. It keeps stalling after 10 min but prob not giving it enough gas. Will keep trying. I am a bit of a chicken with it. Thank you for your video b/c it was the information i needed and all the best with yours :) !
great little video , was a bit concerned about that gator from were i was sitting it looked like it could have had some john boat Ala cart lol if there was an engine fail or god forbid a sinking if that flex seal wouldnt have held up , by the way you never did comment on that end of the video , so how did it do .....
nice little engine, i love to get one sometimes to replace my electric trolling motor. if you don't mind I'm asking how much you pay for those hangkai engine?? Thanks
I just purchased it can you please tell us in detail how to use it safely like full steps what you did what oil you used what ratio. What is break the engine for 10 hours? Please reply I'm really new to outboard engines
hey man grads on your new Hangkai, I'll get some links to you on some great videos, just give me a day and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, for now check out my other Hangkai videos, have a good day.
Can you also tell me which 2 stroke oil i have to use for this model and is it same engine oil we put inside engine and over time we change and the oil we have to mix with gasoline are the supposed to be same or different?
looking at getting this motor, hows it been holding up? How do you like it/would you recommend it? And whats the top speed you've ran it? Would be going on a 13' Gheenoe
Topwolf Outdoors Thanks for the quick response! The boat itself only weighs 120lbs. I have a 55lb trolling motor that pushes me, a buddy, and gear (about 400lbs all together) at 3.5-4mph, hoping this'll kick it up a bit :)
That engine ran great to the day I sold it and after the guy I sold it to used it for jon boat fishing tournaments he message me 4 months after and said still running good maintenance is the key thanks for watching have a great weekend
I recently filled up the fuel tank and took out on the lake. It got going and about 10 mins in i heard a pop noise. Kept going then heard pop again. Kept going then heard pop again the i stopped and it shut off by itself. Let it cool down and it wouldnt start again. Do u know what problem might be and how to fix it. It ran fine before when i ran it out of gas finally, then as i said i filled up and took it out again.
Random pop noise, can be fuel or spark related. Either case make sure you have a clean carb, fuel lines and of course clean decent fuel (no ethanol). It's not rare to find fuel supplies dirty from the source. Tip: Make sure your jerrycans are clean. When filling them up an old sock makes an awesome filter for bigger particles. ;-) Spark, the easier and usually the culprit in this motors is the really crappy quality spark plug. Changing to a good known spark plug, can save a lot of grief. Always carry a spare. In spite of being a bit overkill, personally I prefer Iridium plugs for small 2 strokes. No comparison at all. Easier start, less fouling, smoother running. Tip: Always carry the spare in an appropriate container. No good when it's needed, to find out the ceramic is broken. Because it was stored in a plastic bag, inside a tool box. ;-) A soft rubber hose of the right size, with a couple of rubber caps, makes an excellent and cheap spark plug box. ;-)
Paddle "silent" soft and without noise.. gas motor is big not fish shadow of the raft/boat - sit for a bit near shade and they collect under your aspiration of a good meal.
I sold it to a guy that wanted to do Jon Boat Bass Tournament Fishing he called me he said he want a couple of vents and the motor is running great and a Jon Boat is holding up well
Is that the two-tact motor, or the four-tact ? Did you break it in by running it 10 hours with high ratio oil/gasoline? Let me know if you had issues with this motor over the years.
I will be ordering this motor soon. I watched all your videos about this motor. Now that you have used it a few times can you pass along any more tips about starting and maintenance? Thank You and good luck catching fish this year!
It's been a few months from this video but how's the motor holding up? I've been thinking about getting the same one but the reviews are hit and miss with it.
@@TopwolfOutdoors Rado I’ve got one that’s like that I series model I was just wondering if it was even worse getting a motor for being that I’m almost 300 pounds thank you
I'm just worried that it might need a refuel and I wouldn't want to pour it into that little tank on the water...if the boat is rocking over salt water (bigger waves) it might spill gas everywhere. So it can draw from an external tank then...? Awesome! Thanks!
You should be able to disconnect the little 1.5L tank and attach a larger one to it. As long as the engine has enough compression to draw fuel you'll be fine.
Yet got 1 too works top it was crap running it in with the 25/1 mix now use 40/1 and don't have top end cut outs lol for the past two years and I use it 4 days a week for the past 3 years and still no problems

The engine is supposed to run at 25:1, so if it did get hot, make sure to run it at that next time.
is your motor still running pretty good I wad thinking on get one for my 14 foot fiberglass flat bottom
I had one and I loved too go on trips with it cuz it wasn’t that loud at al! I Think u should buy it
I'm about to put one on my 14ft
He bro my engine keeps turning off as soon as a stop giving throttle. Is it normal or something is wrong in my engine? And secondly my engineer is giving white smoke which goes inside the water but i can see it visibly is it also normal or something is wrong?
check the choke, and are you useing non ethanol gas?,the smoke is normal, can you do a video,
Hey dear thanks for the reply : I'm not sure if it's ethanol or non ethanol but I'm using 95 octane fuel. Second this I tried both choke on and off but still engine shuts off as soon as i lower the throttle. But i used choke as recommended (choke closed on starting, open choke when running the engine) have you ever had this issue?
Do you think this motor will push my 12ft v-hull john boat up river with me and 2 buddys were all under 200lbs
+Brandon Johnson that might be asking a lot out of this little motor..It would be just to slow..,look for a 6hp in this type or like a reg merk 3 hp motor should do it ok.. have a great day... Donald
+Topwolf Outdoors well it pushed me and my girl up stream fine. my gas oil mox was off i did a 50:1
+Topwolf Outdoors I have . had plenty of different brand 3.5 hp motors and I can tell you its barely enough for 2 guys in a 10 foot flat bottom with nothing else on board go for the 5 or 6 even maybe 7.5 hp motors
How well did the motor work did it last
hello, it still is working today, sold it to someone and is now fishing jonboat tournaments and doing well
what's the length of your boat? I just got the Pelican Intruder 12'. Searching for a decent engine now...
It was 12 foot with a three-quarter inch front deck
Thanks
That is what I just did I want to fish lake Michigan but I didn't think my 30lb trolling motor would do
How was it after 4 years?
Look like it ran awesome. Great kittle motor bud.
Don't have to add oil in lower part of the unit?
Nice Bro looked like you had fun with that motor
At 5 years are you still running with it?
How is this little motor doing you think is still worthy of buying
just curious if that motor is still any good after 3 years
I used to have one and didn't last long and had constant problams
I just purchased it can you please tell us in detail how to use it safely like full steps what you did what oil you used what ratio. What is break the engine for 10 hours? Please reply I'm really new to outboard engines
hey man grads on your new Hangkai, I'll get some links to you on some great videos, just give me a day and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, for now check out my other Hangkai videos, have a good day.
@@TopwolfOutdoors thank you so much dear ill wait for the links. And yeah I'm checking all your video's and they have lots of great information 😊😊
Can you also tell me which 2 stroke oil i have to use for this model and is it same engine oil we put inside engine and over time we change and the oil we have to mix with gasoline are the supposed to be same or different?
How much do one of them cost?
I got mine for $240 but you need to shop around thanks for watching have a great day
I'd keep a set of oars on that boat!
you should have a set of oars in all boats
Well not all boats lol. Try rowing a 28 regulator 😂😂
Or a second motor that was tested at home before the trip. I have bout 58 motors and plan to carry a spare motor and spare parts. But paddles too.
What lake is that
looking at getting this motor, hows it been holding up? How do you like it/would you recommend it? And whats the top speed you've ran it? Would be going on a 13' Gheenoe
+Fishin Jeeper it's doing great..it works great on my jonboat about 7-9 mph..
should work nice on your boat have a great day TW
Topwolf Outdoors Thanks for the quick response! The boat itself only weighs 120lbs. I have a 55lb trolling motor that pushes me, a buddy, and gear (about 400lbs all together) at 3.5-4mph, hoping this'll kick it up a bit :)
Oh, shit, thats not a break in period, you ran it wide open really early. Be interested to know if you burned it up.
That engine ran great to the day I sold it and after the guy I sold it to used it for jon boat fishing tournaments he message me 4 months after and said still running good maintenance is the key thanks for watching have a great weekend
What's ur take on them hangkai top wolf 1964
they work good for what they are for the money
yeah im thinking about getting one for my jon boat have you had any problems out of it im guessin you have had it two years are you still running it
Topwolf i agree with fepowson. I am waiting to receive and break in mine and hope it has the same effect on my lol How has the fishing been?
When filling them up an old sock makes an awesome filter for bigger particles. ;-)
Spark, the easier and usually the culprit in this motors is the really crappy quality spark plug.
Because it was stored in a plastic bag, inside a tool box. ;-)
A soft rubber hose of the right size, with a couple of rubber caps, makes an excellent and cheap spark plug box. ;-)
Watching your videos has really helped chose this engine! Thanks Donald! How's the engine running now? (31st October)
Thanks for the video!
Are you still liking the motor?
Mike, yes I am, update video coming out soon, have a great day..
Hello greetings to Colombia how long Time during the fuel
What did you mean by ‘run time’ , thanks
Total run time on one tank of fuel thanks for watching have a great day
@@TopwolfOutdoors did you grease the turn shaft and oil the propeller?
Hi can someone help me? Does this engine come with a ripcord?
Yes it does and comes with a spare thanks for watching have a great day
Paddle "silent" soft and without noise.. gas motor is big not fish shadow of the raft/boat - sit for a bit near shade and they collect under your aspiration of a good meal.
Gracias! nice video
So does it still run good? Whatever happened need some answers please as I contemplate ordering one of them
I sold it to a guy that wanted to do Jon Boat Bass Tournament Fishing he called me he said he want a couple of vents and the motor is running great and a Jon Boat is holding up well
Is that the two-tact motor, or the four-tact ? Did you break it in by running it 10 hours with high ratio oil/gasoline? Let me know if you had issues with this motor over the years.
its a two - break in time for me was about 11 hours - and no issues motor runs great- join are FB page- facebook.com/groups/536817843464908/
My trolling motor goes that fast on my Jon. My eska 5hp triples that speed but I'm about to spend a check on a 15 to 25 mercury
I will be ordering this motor soon. I watched all your videos about this motor. Now that you have used it a few times can you pass along any more tips about starting and maintenance? Thank You and good luck catching fish this year!
+slingshot i'll do a vid soon on it.. thank you
thanks for making the video!
thanks for watching , have a great week
Topwolf Outdoors have you had any issues with motor
Hi Nick, no I have not, it still runs great,I have to do a new vid soon on it, have a great day, TW
Good video. Looking at getting one for the river. Have u used it going upstream against the current?
it's not to bad for a liteboat it will get the job done just not to fast, have a great weekend.
I hear they have less HP than advertised
It's been a few months from this video but how's the motor holding up? I've been thinking about getting the same one but the reviews are hit and miss with it.
I've ran mine for at least 200hrs with no issue at all.
How long did this motor last you?
sir how long have you had this and how is it holding up
nice video, thank you for the effort
How longs the boat
12 foot long Jon Boat
@@TopwolfOutdoors Rado I’ve got one that’s like that I series model I was just wondering if it was even worse getting a motor for being that I’m almost 300 pounds thank you
Donald if ya can try and put ethanal free gas in the engine if you use regular gas you will soon have to have the carb redone...nice video
charles merritt hi thanks for watching..in my Gas & Oil video
I did say I was useing non-ethanal gas in it..have a good day.. TW
Hi how are you? Is the motor still running ?
yes it is, going todo a 3 year update on it soon, have a great day
Thanks for the video. It helps.
Great video ! I'm thinking about getting one. How much does it weigh ?
12.18 Kilograms
Nice demonstration thanks.
Love the video mate I have recently purchased a new boat just wondering how big is your John boat exactly?
thanks, have fun with your new boat, mine is 12 foot long, I'm doing a 3 year review on it will be out soon, have a great day
Thanks and good luck
how long does the motor last
it's still going strong today, so if you take care of it long time..
Can this also use an external fuel tank?
you can make one if you need to
I'm just worried that it might need a refuel and I wouldn't want to pour it into that little tank on the water...if the boat is rocking over salt water (bigger waves) it might spill gas everywhere. So it can draw from an external tank then...? Awesome! Thanks!
You should be able to disconnect the little 1.5L tank and attach a larger one to it. As long as the engine has enough compression to draw fuel you'll be fine.
Thank you so very much
Yet got 1 too works top it was crap running it in with the 25/1 mix now use 40/1 and don't have top end cut outs lol for the past two years and I use it 4 days a week for the past 3 years and still no problems
I'm thinking about getting that motor. Do u recommend it?
yes it works great
+Topwolf Outdoors How fast do u think it goes?
how is this motor doing?
it's doing great I'm going to do a video on it soon, thanks for watching have a great day
Thank you Sir
Why the socks?
