I worked a night shift security job in college, and during the winter we were in this little shed with big windows on all sides. It was a very cold and snowy winter, so even with two space heaters on full blast, the shed was always freezing. Most nights I'd set up my xbox and tv and just play Skyrim in between my rounds. To this day, it is the most enjoyble and immursive gaming experiences of my life. This video makes me want to do something like that again.
Car camping and hearing footsteps outside your car is whats really freak lol. Would be more freaky in a tent. Saw nobody when i bolted up and grabbed my handgun though. looked all around lol no sign of anybody just three footsteps in the leaf pile a foot away from my car.
This would have been LEGENDARY if you Live streamed this with 2 Camera views the one in Tent and the Night vision outside so we could watch the surroundings. That would be So fun and Spooky.

I went solo bike-packing in a state park, set up camp, and after it got dark I watched horror movies on my iPad for a few hours. This is next-level. Alien Isolation and Resident Evil Biohazard gave me such (enjoyable) anxiety in my office...in the woods, holy shit.
My first time playing RE2 and Metal Gear Solid as a kid was in a tent in my friend's wooded back yard on a dark night. We ran extension cords from the house and carried out the 90lb CRT TV along with a PlayStation and a stack of games. It's still one of the top 10 experience I've ever had.
The deer was so comforting. I'd probably be terrifying hearing it make noise and see its eyes staring at you, but knowing there's creatures out there who are just curious about you is comforting. Like sure I'm in the middle of the woods at night, but there's nice critters coexisting around me.
Actually deer are scary at night in the dark. I’ve lived in the sticks my whole life and hearing a deer snort when you least expecting it makes me jump every time.

Suspicious that UA-cam recommends this video to me after coming back from a 2 night camping LAN party with my 3 friends xD. We played Baldurs Gate 3 together on our laptops and used starlink for internet. Being able to play games in the middle of a forest is honestly such a surreal feeling.

I did this in 1999 with the first Silent Hill game with a gas generator, my PS1 , and a 13" CRT. I ran a long extension cord from the generator to get the TV far enough away I could hear the game, but it was still loud enough in the distance to be unnerving. I did it to make the game scarier, and it was! Never looked over my shoulder more in my life!

I let out a scream when that Hunter appeared around the corner of the hall with that "scream" and my poor dog jumped, his heart racing. I had to comfort him a few mins. Poor thing.
I dig the MRE mixed in with camping/gaming video. I was in the military for 8 years, and for whatever reason I've always enjoyed watching MRE videos.. Every summer for years now I make it a point to play Metal Gear Solid 3 around a campfire. This past summer I played it outside until the sun came up next morning. It was surreal between the games nature sounds and the real life sounds all around me. Birds were chirping all around me and in the game. It was like a natural surround sound.
i used to work late hours at a spot that was basically just a garage with a small office in it. definitely had a lot of unsettling gaming experiences there playing at midnight, nobody around with just the sounds of the wind moving around the doors and the crickets.

Its our bodies syncing up our circadian rhythms with sunlight. The way humans used to be before we became so highly modernized. Its the best feeling to reconnect with nature.
There are these moments when you scroll through UA-cam’s recommended videos and you stumble upon something amazing. That was one of these moments. PS. Doing something like that was always my childhood dream (maybe I would choose a different game to play in the woods at night).
In the dead of the night the forest appears black and gray and you can't even see your hands in front of you. This gaming session reminds me of those times
did this with an N64 and PS1 over 20yrs ago with my buddies. we ran like 500ft of extension cable out into my buddies forested back yard in the sticks of MN. We had a 13" CRT TV, and a 4 person tent. We played the OG RE, and MGS. We also played Mario 64, and FF7.
That's actually a great idea. Also remembered how some cultures around the world have scary tales in which if you see an attractive woman in the middle of the woods at night and she invites you for a walk you are not coming back. Imagine this but a modern version where you see a nerd in the middle of woods who offers you 4090 ti if you follow him to his tent.

Good job, dude. From a former Boy Scout. When setting up a spot to build your tent, always ensure there are no large rocks or pitted areas under your tent-floor, as you learned. Ideally, you want a flat and possibly soft ground. Bring an entrenching tool or collapsible hand spade to remove any rocks from flat land to make it less rough to lay on. You could even scoop up soft dirt from other places to fill any voids left by large rocks after you remove them. Also, your clear tent is NOT ideal for summer conditions. Great for cool weather camping because it will absorb sunlight better during the day to keep you warm. You could bring a tarp to hang over your tent to prevent the sun from cooking you and your steam deck from the inside!
People now layer tents. One inside another. Use one of those shade-creating ones without walls, roll up the walls, or get mosquito net walls. Shade without being dark--they have tall ones that would let the smaller tent be set up underneath but with enough space that lots of light could get in. Could store lots of equipment in the larger tent, outside this smaller one. He needs a collapsable shelf system. Could set it up when he unpacks, a place for each "appliance" and techy gear. 3' tall x 2' wide, or 2' x 2'. Would get stuff off the ground. He also needs a tarp--if you put a tarp under anything and everything when you camp, it keeps everything much cleaner because no tents touch dirt. Leave a 2 or 3 foot edge of tarp out in front of the door to the tent. So any dirt comes off of shoes there, and you can leave shoes on your tarp porch outside the tent. Then, no dirt gets inside the tent on shoe bottoms. Keeps everything in the tent cleaner. The tarp keeps moisture from the cold ground out of the tent--significant when you are sleeping on the ground in a tent. It really helps. (My sister always brought this cushy rug to then put on the floor of the tent under sleeping bags.--warmer, softer, cushier.) And when you pack-up the tent to go home, it's faster because the tent never touched the dirt/ground. Saves you so much work.
Great video! Definitely not disappointing. If you do it again, having a shade canopy would help with the heat. Also, I'd definitely use a tent that has mesh ventilation.

I played resident evil VR on the quest in the mountains near Santa Fe New Mexico. Just the feel and sound of the walking on ground that matches the game was surreal

what's scary isn't the ghost or the monsters in the forest but the people with bad intentions that are maybe in the forest with you at night.

did this with an N64 and PS1 over 20yrs ago with my buddies. we ran like 500ft of extension cable out into my buddies forested back yard in the sticks of MN. We had a 13" CRT TV, and a 4 person tent. We played the OG RE, and MGS. We also played Mario 64, and FF7.

Also remembered how some cultures around the world have scary tales in which if you see an attractive woman in the middle of the woods at night and she invites you for a walk you are not coming back.
Imagine this but a modern version where you see a nerd in the middle of woods who offers you 4090 ti if you follow him to his tent.

From a former Boy Scout. When setting up a spot to build your tent, always ensure there are no large rocks or pitted areas under your tent-floor, as you learned. Ideally, you want a flat and possibly soft ground. Bring an entrenching tool or collapsible hand spade to remove any rocks from flat land to make it less rough to lay on. You could even scoop up soft dirt from other places to fill any voids left by large rocks after you remove them.
Also, your clear tent is NOT ideal for summer conditions. Great for cool weather camping because it will absorb sunlight better during the day to keep you warm. You could bring a tarp to hang over your tent to prevent the sun from cooking you and your steam deck from the inside!
People now layer tents. One inside another. Use one of those shade-creating ones without walls, roll up the walls, or get mosquito net walls. Shade without being dark--they have tall ones that would let the smaller tent be set up underneath but with enough space that lots of light could get in. Could store lots of equipment in the larger tent, outside this smaller one.
He needs a collapsable shelf system. Could set it up when he unpacks, a place for each "appliance" and techy gear. 3' tall x 2' wide, or 2' x 2'. Would get stuff off the ground.
He also needs a tarp--if you put a tarp under anything and everything when you camp, it keeps everything much cleaner because no tents touch dirt. Leave a 2 or 3 foot edge of tarp out in front of the door to the tent. So any dirt comes off of shoes there, and you can leave shoes on your tarp porch outside the tent. Then, no dirt gets inside the tent on shoe bottoms. Keeps everything in the tent cleaner. The tarp keeps moisture from the cold ground out of the tent--significant when you are sleeping on the ground in a tent. It really helps. (My sister always brought this cushy rug to then put on the floor of the tent under sleeping bags.--warmer, softer, cushier.) And when you pack-up the tent to go home, it's faster because the tent never touched the dirt/ground. Saves you so much work.

Great video! Definitely not disappointing. If you do it again, having a shade canopy would help with the heat. Also, I'd definitely use a tent that has mesh ventilation.
