I have a mozzafiato for at least 3 years I’ve been looking for more options updated etc. I bought this one over the matrix. I’ll tell u why. First the matrix is an excellent model but it’s a beast. 80 lbs I believe or close. I didn’t want to buy for the lights. It’s sitting in the kitchen. The model without it is good too. The 3.5 touch screen is great. But I didn’t want to buy because of this. The 2 boilers great but more maintenance which isn’t bad but I feel it was alittle much. The ECB has all the features that the matrix has except one less pid of course the extra boiler. And I caught the deal on whole latte love that took off another 10 percent with all the Xmas extras. Ecm is a pioneer on this. A heat exchanger working as a quasi double boiler with programs to pull your coffee. A steam temp and a boiler temp setting. I just had to go for it. Plus I like the fact that it’s a stainless steel boiler wrapped. Les scale no leeching.
Hey Maybaby, Thabnks for sharing your opinions and thought process!

What brand is this rotary pump? There is an ECM label on the pumps in other ECM and Profitec machines, but why does it not say ECM on this one?And you do flush 8 bar my 7bar.when you brew coffee first 8 after goes 9 bar my mechanika max starting 7 after goes 9 bar.Why deffrent?
Hi No, Rotary pumps used in ECM/Profitec are made by Fluid-o-Tech even if they have the ECM/Profitec label. Not entirely certain what you are asking in regards to pressures. When flushing, there's no restriction so pressure indication may just be residual in the system as that pressure is measured very close to the pump and behind a one way flow valve.
Very nice machine. Whats your thoughts on using RO water and adding third wave water packs added to the water?
Hi ccg, Thanks for the comment. 3rd Wave is an option for remineralizing - guess it depends on how much effort you want to put into prepping water. Most commercial specialty cafes using RO treatment have a bypass to add a percentage of non-RO water back into the mix. That bypassed water still gets particulate and carbon filtration but retains some minerals. Another option is making your own mineral additives using baking soda and epsom salt. It's a lot cheaper than the commercial additives. I show you how in this video: ua-cam.com/video/iHI7jC0sQZo/v-deo.html

What is the difference between automatic and semi-automatic machines and lever machines? Is the quality of their espresso different?
When and why would you use a bottomless portafilter rather than a double spout? Is it just prefernce or is there actually a difference in coffee taste and quality?
Also, would you make a live video for the Bezzara Aria with flow control?
No, it’s to really gauge how your shot is coming out. You can find alot about how your grinding tamping pulling your shot by using a bottomless.
Is there a time stamp where pre infusion is discussed?
Marc: “It is a heat exchanger so you can brew and steam at the same time.”
I have a question. On what machines should you not do both at the same time.
Hi there.
It is less a matter of should or should not and more a matter of can and cannot. Single boiler espresso machines can only either steam or brew, but not at the same time. Heat Exchange espresso machines and Dual Boiler espresso machines can simultaneously steam and brew, so that is why Marc mentioned that.
