Bank fishing a small river for BIG flathead catfish

- In this video I use both live and cut bait to target big flathead catfish from the bank of a small river. Conditions were flooded and the original plan to kayak fish this section of the river became infeasible. Remaining flexible, I adjusted my plans and was able to land a couple of nice fish.
You did a hell of a job landing that fish thumbs up.
Thank you!
Your a real fisherman when you go old school with no pole holder and a stick in the ground. I can dig it! Lol
Haha, sometimes there’s just too many things to carry. If I know there’s likely to be a good stick laying around somewhere why not lighten the load and leave the rod holders at the truck! Thanks for watching, Robert!
I love catfishing
Here here
I was just starting to like your little program that you've got going on. Ben you don't like to eat flat head. And you throw the fish back. I don't think I'm going to watch your channel anymore but I do appreciate seeing this one
Agreed 👍🏻 on the bait being the most challenging
I like how you said “well I’ll just go fishing “
Nice fish 🍻
What a tank of a Flathead, great video brother keep em comin!
Thanks! More to come soon. Keep checking back.
Nice ,,,getting that unexpected work day turned into fishing trip...river fishing,,,snags and snakes,,,
Nice,,,,,worth the work
Yes it was!
Great video looking forward 2 your next
Thanks, Steve. More to come soon.
Good catch! Enjoyed this video!
You should try using the Penn Slamners in the 8000 to 10,000 series. They a live liner also....they work great and have 60lbs of drag. They are technically for very large salt water fish like sharks and large grouper but they are great for monster Alligator Gar and Spoonbills
The current sweep in your bait up against the bank is the whole reason you caught that fish because the water does them the same way it pushes them toward the bank for an easier traveling path nice fish though keep up the good work
Thanks for the insight, Adrian. And thanks for watching the video. Consider subscribing, and check out the channel page for recently released (and hopefully somewhat improved) videos.
Awesome video!! I really enjoyed it 👍
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check back for new content soon.
That is some nice flat cat's, you need to invite Sling N Baits down and let him hook into one! If you do hold on to him lol. If you haven't seen Sling N Bait's, give him a try! (Glen). WV. awesome video keep them coming!
Glen, thank you! I will have to check out the channel. Keep an eye out for new uploads.

Thanks James. More to come. Be sure to subscribe and keep checking back in.
subscribed brother!
Much appreciated!
Thanks for posting. Like to see what others catch here in Ks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hoping to get back after the flatheads soon.
You were getting good bites on that other pole alittle before you noticed it
U have to use a no-roll weight it won’t get close to the bank as much as a egg weight will
If you can't keep creek suckers or small carp then that's some messed up fishing regulations. By me we can use any rough fish including shad and carp and shiners ect...
We can keep both rough fish and game fish for use as bait so long as they are taken legally and meet the minimum length requirements. However, all fish caught for use as live bait may only be used in the same body of water in which they were caught and may not be transported across any type of dam or barrier. The only exception to that rule is in the case of bluegill and green sunfish, which may be transported from one body of water to another for use as live bait so long as they are taken from non-designated aquatic nuisance waters.
Nice video
Thanks for watching! Bear with me while I work through the filming and editing kinks. Video quality should improve with time. Subscribe and keep an eye out for new content next week.
Anyone know what river this is.
Where was this!!!???
Couldn’t see you hook the green sunfish head. Would be good to show the hook up. Also, sound goes super quiet once you cut to fighting the fish. Couldn’t hear a peep.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm working on improving the filming. Footage/audio should get better with time. You might also take a look at recently uploaded videos. They are significantly improved from this first upload.
💪
I'm live in ks. What river is this
Is you all trees done leaved out there
Also I catch more flat heads on cut bait fresh fresh cut bait than I do live bait although I cut my personal best on live bait

Yes, this was a first experiment with creating and publishing content. Hopefully the episodes have improved some since this first attempt. Check out some of the other content @fishstandard and continue to provide feedback. Your thoughts are invaluable to helping produce a quality product.
You need to talk less and fish more
Haha, thanks for the feedback. I agree! Turns out making a video that is actually enjoyable to watch is a little more challenging than I first thought. Be patient while I try to improve the content. Upcoming videos should be better.
Na bs you did a helluva job. Don't focus on the trolls. You explained what your were doing kept everyone informed. Great work !
