Here in South Africa, Soccer is the No1 sport, then rugby . There's a statement that "Soccer is a gentlemen's sport played by hooligans, whilst rugby is a hooligans' sport, played by gentlemen . Such statements are things we laugh ourselves about

The Rugby World Cup is held once every four years and it starts this September in France. If you do some reactions before then, where you learn about the game and watch some actual game highlights, and then follow the World Cup with your reactions I think you will get a lot of follows.

If you think Rugby is not as aggressive as NFL checkout some of the big hits videos - it will change your mind. "HARDEST HITS You Will Ever See | Rugby Is For BEASTS" is a good one.

top tier players in the UK get around $217,000 a year salary they dont get paid per tackle or score. Team sport. Play 40 mins non stop, half time is 15 mins then back on for a further 40 mins. if they get hurt or need stitching up they do come back on. Back in the 70's/80's they would carry on with blood dripping down faces🦾 not a soft game

the 'head thing' is a scrum cap. The guys who wear them usually play in the forwards and during a scrum, their ears would be rubbed against other players when they are all binding together so it helps prevent cauliflower ears.
Anyone can wear one its a personal choice some other players in the back sometimes wear them at times.
The form of tackling is different as tackler has to protect their head and also not hit the ball carrier too high either, need to prevent dangerous head injuries so any tackle that hits above the shoulder is deemed a penalty and the tackler can be sent off if they hit someone too high

forwards wear that headset to protects their cauliflower ears from rubbing when they pack down and push against the other team in a (scrum/Huddle)... the scrum is to restart play after a fumble or forward pass, the other team gets the ball to feed into the scrum to restart play...the game is not as dangerous as people are telling you guys or as it seems to be, it can be dangerous if you up against someone with a history of head hunting in the tackle and uses maybe a shoulder charge and no arms in the tackle, or tackles you in the air, years ago when I played things were a little more out of control but these days you cant get away with too much so the players are a bit more cautious with how they tackle etc

THe rugby training process is intense, almost or at the level of military training. You get trained in such a way that even when they bring someone to the team, you get that trust of a team, in other words when you get a new team mate, you know that he went through the same rigorous process, and will gel together at the training session to know each other's strength, for the strength of the team, it';s a very serious team sport.. With disrespect to other sports, rugby trains you not only for the sport but for life itself, hence even those who practiced the sport but never made it professionally stand out in real life. At least that's the average which means 50-70% some out as disciplined people in the society

What you call a touchdown is called a try in rugby. But take a look and the rules of rugby so you can get a better understanding of this sport

5 points for a try. If they convert the try (like an extra point in football), that is worth another 2 points. If they get a penalty and kick it through the goal posts, that’s 3 points.

haha getting paid for catches and runs, nah man we aren't that well paid.
A "ruck" is after a tackle and the ball is contested (meaning) that any team can get posession, they just have to work for it. So the tackled player turns around and puts the ball backwards, the opposition can get their players and push (from back to front) to gain possession by grabbing the ball from their feet. This looks like a mess of bodies piled up, but if you watch a game the commentators usually tell you what is going on (and why a penalty is given, etc).
A "maul" is like a scrum that happens during play (when the tackled player is not on the ground), then it can roll and gain territory.. Dunno if I explained that in a way to understand it, but it works in my messy brain rn haha.

The tackling is different but more because you can break your own neck if you just charge head first, American football tends to lead with the helmet a lot, if you lead with your head in rugby you could break your neck in the impact

It is called a try because in the beginning it was worth 3 points, but now it's 5 points but the terminology stayed the same, have a look at the how rugby started, very interesting and brutal sport.

The rougher rugby is rugby league. If it was the Eminem one was mostly Australian rugby league .
