Suddenly, I'm watching women's basketball. Once I heard that women's basketball needed dunking to make it exciting. Caitlin Clark said hold my beer and did it by being a phenomenal and entertaining shooter. Much success to her. ❤❤❤

Haven't watched basketball since the kings had Webber, Bibby and seeing all the hype around Caitlin brought me to watch the last 2 games and she did not disappoint. Whatever team she plays on I am a fan and will be watching.

Lost - ummm, nobody blaming the refs that they lost. Most people wanted to see a final shot, make or miss. Players decide. It would have been a tough shot either way.

uconn were jumping all over clark & grabbing all night. i suppose they had to, but im glad they lost.
This is the first time in my life I've ever watched a women's basketball game. I was pretty impressed. I appreciate the skill aspect of the game, than the high flying dunking. Women's college basketball more interesting than men's right now. Glad women are doing well with the sport.

Iowa Gabbie Marshall played Paige tough too which is equally impressive. She only had 3 points in the entire 4th quarter. This was a major defensive game
dont blame the ref bad calls or not if you play a sport yk there is bad calls you have to let the score talk and no ref could have changed that 12point lead yall choked and thats on you
Well, except women’s ncaa hoops does have a long history of poor officiating. And where do you get choking from? If you play any sport, you know that performance is uneven, and often based on momentum and adjustments back and forth. All of that is normal and none of it is choking.
Yeah, but they gotta let that last play go tho. Horrible time to call a screen foul. 💯

The amount of cheating the refs may have to do Sunday... to get her a ring 🙄 . I hope they let the players decide the championship game.

Maybe if uconn player didnt add an elbow jab onto that illegal screen , the ref might not have called it..think about that .. ref cant let blatant deliberate violence just go by unchecked . If violence toward a player with an elbow jab wins the game for uconn, how would that be percieved ? Only so much a ref can ignore , no matter the score or time left ..

Who are we supposed to feel bad for here? UConn, who always has the best recruits, has won a million titles, and no doubt had their fair share of friendly calls over the years? The fans? Who get to see the best player in women's college basketball go for the title? South Carolina? Who is licking their chops either way, but this way gets a bigger audience?

An illegal screen/offensive foul isn’t a highlight
We saw it replayed enough during the game. We saw replays of numerous fouls that were similar in intent and degree of contact. In one situation it was back to back. First a UConn defender lowered her outstretched arms on a shooter, then an Iowa defender did the same thing under UConn's basket. I couldn't believe the Iowa player did the same thing that was just called on the other end. Refs were pretty consistent. It's up to the players to understand the refs.

Caitlin Clark is must watch TV, she is a superstar that will transcend women's basketball and take it to places that Cheryl Miller would have had she not been severely injured. We can't wait to watch 2024/ 2025 WNBA Season!!

That was the second moving screen.. the first moving screen actually hurt a player.. theres no doubt that it was an illegal screen
Caitlin is awesome. I love the way she fights through screens and moves without the ball. She tries her rear off to get the best available shot and she's $$ cash money when she lets it go
The last foul was a foul. Moving screen and hand to the face 😔. It going to be called. Even espn couldn't pass it off as a bad foul. The replay and espn try to say but watch the foul and made a sound 🔊 but stop saying anything.
In game that mattered the most, Caitlin had the better game and elevated her teammates in a way Paige couldn't. UConn had MULTIPLE opportunities to make countless open shots and failed to do so. They applied the pressure literally with under a minute left after a major blunder by Iowa. Other than that, Iowa was the better team last night and the illegal screen underscored the difference between both teams with the missed rebound on the missed free throw being the crescendo to this point.

I watched the game and really liked it. The defense against Clark was excellent but Ms Buckets got her buckets. I must say it was maddening watching all the bad turnovers and all the missed easy shots. Iowa vs South Carolina with their Shaquille Cardoso will set all the viewing records.

Iowa reduced their turnovers in second half and edged out the win.what if iowa had not turned it over 12 times in first half? Maybe the game ending would have never been that close ..uconn had a 12 point lead then got outscored 10 to 2 in a 4 minute span ..did refs make that happen or did iowa just step it up a notch??

Did Bluder and Clark intentionally push DEI (Staulke SC?) VS actually play Clarks game/skills? Staulke is incredible in her reciever/dunk role NOT out in the court/field, where she fumbled everything. CLEARLY Bluder keeps sabotaging IA's best game, holding Clark and IA's best bigs back, in certain match ups.

CC drive right, step back 3, drive right, step back 3, turnover. Rinse and repeat. Finish through contact rarely and miss 63% of your threes. When not handling the ball, do nothing. When on D, do nothing. Paige right, left, middle, pull up J, fade away jumper, off one foot, floater in the lane, 3 pointer off the bounce, myriad post up moves...move non stop off the ball, set 2-3 screens every possession, run the P&R better than anyone ever....and play absolutely elite D. Hmmm, who would I rather have? Imagine coming back from missing 584 days with an injury and leading a team that lost 6 players, 2 pre-season AAs, had a 6 player rotation ( and # 6 only played about 5 minutes), and had to start 2 freshmen and 4 PGs.....and leading then to the FF.....one highly controversial call away from making the finals. I PROMISE you this....CC with her low efficiency, high volume shooting, zero off ball activity, and atrocious D would not have led this team to the tournament. Scared newbies never would have gained confidence watching her shoot, and she never would have changed positions for the good of team, playing the 4 of all things. Most importantly, CC would never have been able to do the one thing that gave UConn a chance to win...lead by example and energy to make them a great defensive team. That was their ONLY chance to win and Paige is the only one who could have done it. She had to play psychologist to the kids as well as being the leader, best offensive and defensive player and the one who took on all the pressure in every situation and so they didn't have to. There are levels to this.
