I thought Paige was just another basketball star coming to CT when she arrived. I live in CT and like so many in our State we became basketball junkies in 1995 when the UCONN Women's team won a National Championship. I was wrong about Paige. The year Paige became able to play this Season. What we all have learned is that we have never had a player like her at UCONN. There are no words to describe Paige. She's other worldly. She's on another Planet when she's playing basketball. She was born this way. She's in a special zone like we've never seen before. As the basketball coach at Syracuse said, "When she plays she has a chess game going on in her head." That about says it. But, what about Paige as a person. She is devoutly religious, but doesn't promote it. She lives it. She sends out love and gratitude to her fans in CT (I'm one of them), and to all she comes in contact with. After game she thanks and passes love on to her fans who fill every seat on the nights she plays. Little girls stand in line to get her autograph after every game as she inspires so many of them. We are soooo lucky to have Paige here in CT for another year!
Paige is truly an inspiration to other kids from broken homes. You can make it if you believe in yourself. Her father gets huge props for his dedication to her. May God continue to bless you guys!
I didn't know anything about women's BB until this year with the hype with Caitlin Clark. After seeing her play and now learning all she has battled through with injuries, I have to put her easily on the same level as Caitlin and IMHO, maybe a notch above. Interesting story about her
@jimmiesmith5590Angel Reese beat Caitlin Clark 5x before yesterday, yet that game had over 10mil viewers. So, what’s your point bud? Clark and Bueckers are super stars, and them going head to head again is a big deal.
Iowa Alum here and it was a well fought game last night. I wanted to shout out LOUD to all of the single fathers. My dad was a single dad for a time and I am also a semi single dad.
Oh, Paige Bueckers! She's an incredible basketball player, known for her skills and talent on the court. Paige has a disciplined lifestyle, dedicating herself to rigorous training and practice to excel in the game. She's committed to maintaining peak physical fitness and honing her basketball skills. Off the court, Paige is known for her humility and positive.
She signed her letter of intent in November of 2019. She graduated HS in May or June of 2020. Then played for UConn in Dec of 2020. Get your facts rights.
looking forward to future clashes between buekers and clark in the WNBA. the championship game was great. what a great thing for the sport. clark has brought so many eyes. myself included. was really impressed with this buekers girl. she was real good. had me questioning why caitlin is the only one with hype. but it is what it is. all in all, good for womens basketball. keep it going ladies! work hard play hard
It is because she can pass those dimes to her teammates, and have the audacity to shoot from the logo 3 time and time again. She isn't afraid to shoot them.
Really? That sounds so cool. To have a great athlete(regardless of gender) as a classmate seems so awesome. I don’t have the pleasure of having a famous athlete as a classmate(even though I’ve had quite a few student athletes as classmates at my different institutions), but the future might show me otherwise. I’m pretty jealous, since I have seen Paige for her entire college career at UConn. First saw her on that Gatorade High School Player of the Year Sports Illustrated Cover in 2020. She looked so amazing standing next to the guy who got the award for the boys player of the year. Safe to say that she’s already garnered way more fame than most Gatorade Athletes of the Year in the past 15 years. She will definitely be a must-watch player at the next level.
Caitlin, Paige and others have opened the door for other college athletes who have genuine fire in their hearts, who in the end will bring their notoriety to the pros who should be welcoming any and all attention. That's what most women like to do, right? Get attention? You don't see women flocking to the WNBA. The presence of men in the stadium, wishing their favorite players come out on top, will sell more tickets.
Yes, Paige vs Clark is all the buzz, the WNBA cries foul over being boring; no offense, but these two make it fun and men, ME are watching not women, so don't blast us.
They would have to put Mitchell on ICE, or trade her then. Also, they would need a backup for Paige due to her injury history with her knees. She is too skinny and injury prone.
Good luck to her....injuries are the worst nightmare for these elites athletes as their careers can be over in less than second.......hoping she majors in something other than basketball for her future.........like so many other promising young talents, its here today, but gone tomorrow in an instant..........
If she is smart, she would get an insurance for injury. She does have endorsements so she has enough money to do that. That would be the smart thing to do.
All this and not a word about her biggest accomplishment. She is a devout Christian and her name is written in the lambs book of life. Incredible job sister. See you in paradise!
Both CC and Paige are humanitarians? Thats Awesome! Maybe this league will be saved Afterall if we can get a few more class acts. I just read that CC tried to get the opposing teams bonuses because they arenas were selling out. Sadly, nobody knew this, and the teams were hell bent on injuring her
Is it ok for me to point this out? I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American and male. My ex-wife is a very beautiful Black/Cherokee/White woman, and our daughter was born in 2013. My ex-wife is 17 years younger than me, so we just grew apart. Nothing bad happened. And, her family has always been great to me. Our daughter turns 11 in 2024, and she looks like a young Mariah Musselman! Now you see why I can relate with Eric, Danyelle, and Mariah Musselman, along with Paige Bueckers' stepmother and her younger half brother.
Couldn’t watch the whole thing but no mention of her very close relationship with Jalen Suggs? Not romantic but best friends where she could visit the Suggs family without even knocking on the front door.
Had Paige not injured her knee at all, I honestly wonder if she could have dunked. I'm 5'10", male, and Japanese-American (meaning NO jumping ability). Yes, I'm 51 in 2024, but in my prime (20-27, also my "handsome days"), I could effortlessly jump and touch the gray padding on the backboard, the net was automatic, and I could even just nick the bottom of the glass on the backboard. Well, Paige has 2 inches of height over me (at least), and you figure she could have jumped higher than me (her without knee injuries, and me in my prime). Put it this way: When I was 21 (1994, probably my REAL biggest prime year), I could lay the ball off the glass AND slap the backboard (barely nick it), and lay it in. No doubt, there ARE 6'0" women who can dunk.
No. She was born in Minnesota and her mother moved to Billings MT after getting divorced with her first husband(Paige’s dad). She’s a Minnesota native through and through. I can’t even name the most famous athlete to come out of Montana. The most famous athlete to come from Pennsylvania might be Joe Montana. That is, if you don’t include the late great Kobe Bryant. R.I.P to the Mamba. Paige is like a different version of the Black Mamba. She’s like the Ice Mamba, due to her having ice in her veins(literally). She’s going to have a great career as long as the WNBA doesn’t take her down and she avoids more severe injuries.
I admire her perseverance and her skills, but she’s become a millionaire playing college ball? Including by trademarking her _nickname?_ I’ve been away from the game for a long time, and I just don’t recognize it.
i Pray they don't treat her like they have CC22 because i don't think her body will stand up to that kind of trauma. I don't mean they shouldn't play physical like they do the average player, but if they slam into her from behind or some of the other dirty plays I just worry about her.
Nothing lucrative about an WNBA contract. Clark just got hers at Indiana and it's about 80k a year on average for a total of 338,000. Meanwhile she signed a $20 million shoe deal with Nike.
She grew up with a black mother. Her mother moved states. Her father got married to a black woman when she was a kid. That’s probably why she talks soulful
Great player, but I doubt the WNBA contract will be "lucrative. I actually wonder if the great women's players like Buekers, Clark etc make more money in NIL payments in college than they make combined in WNBA salary and endorsements because interest in women's college hoops is booming , but the WNBA is not as popular. Therefore,zI wonder if the endorsement money is there for WNBA players.
Yeah, her career is over. The science says womens bodies are not meant to take all that trauma. The injuries will continue to pile up. There are several other examples of this happening.
Nice video, but the picture was pure click bate. Not uncommon. Have seen the same for other players: pros and collegiate. Have even seen images that presumably romantic interests al alongside an image of a mansion or luxury vehicle that was nowhere in the video. Pure click bate. 😂

Grew up in CT and a UConn alum, we have a lot of great players but Paige the person is special. Basketball is just another bonus.
She plays so smoothly. Poetry in motion.
She is a quite a young lady and an amazing Athlete. She will succeed and win more awards.
I didn't know anything about women's BB until this year with the hype with Caitlin Clark. After seeing her play and now learning all she has battled through with injuries, I have to put her easily on the same level as Caitlin and IMHO, maybe a notch above. Interesting story about her
Her body type and the way she moves smooth is like Kobe
Juju moves more like Kobe than Paige does.
Class act. Great player. I'm a fan.
Paige VS Clark ...Can't wait!!

@jimmiesmith5590Angel Reese beat Caitlin Clark 5x before yesterday, yet that game had over 10mil viewers. So, what’s your point bud? Clark and Bueckers are super stars, and them going head to head again is a big deal.

Shame we will never be blessed to witness what Gigi could have done at these levels.
Indeed, now that women's college basketball is so good it would be very interesting to see how she would do.
she would be committing to a college around now💔
20 second into the video. Nope, the narrator is not from Minnesota.
Right

Sounds like AI generated voiceover reading a script
I also can’t think of a better player to represent Husky tradition!
you betcha
i LIKE CELTICS NO 11 AND PAIGE BUECKERS GREEN JERSEY NO 5 GARNET AND UCONN GO GO! IN NCAA BBALL IN WOMENS!

imagine if she went into this years draft with clark and Cameron Brink. That would be deeper than the NBA 2024 draft class featuring bronny james

I’m a huge UCONN fan and in a word Page is beautiful in every sense of the word. So happy we have her for another year.
Except for her suicidal politics.
She would have been No.2 in the Draft if she went in this year.
Love Buckets.
She's an amazing player and awesome person. Deserves all the wonderful things she's getting.

Unfinished Paige on the pursing of greatness..
the indiana fever would be so overpowered if they had both caitlin clark and paige bueckers
They would have to put Mitchell on ICE, or trade her then. Also, they would need a backup for Paige due to her injury history with her knees. She is too skinny and injury prone.
Either Dallas or Los Angeles seems more likely to get her in the draft.
Good for her. Finally womens sports get these oppurtunities.

Nothing lucrative about wnba earnings.
It’s relative. It will be lucrative for the WNBA and for her.
If Paige didn’t get injured she would have been as good as catlin Clark or better
Not even close to caitlyn..stfu
A completely different body, muscles, power and quickness and they are all in favour of CC
Women are really good in basketball now. My dad now watch women play more than men
