    Hi Juki Junkies,
    We have an Updated video on new oiling methods that we have found to be much better :) (we recommend all 6 holes every 3-4 months not every 4 -6 hours of sewing ) Check it out here. ua-cam.com/video/SDE02I_1VJM/v-deo.html

    I wanted to cry every time I had to change a needle on my TL, it was so difficult for my slightly arthritic fingers, I never had that prob on my old Brother. I tried a plastic thingy that is supposed to hold the needle, total junk. I got a really sturdy, metal, one at my local sewing store, really clamps on to the needle to get that sucker inserted correctly. It was the best 5.99 I spent, no more tears. 😊

      @@eljay5623 There is no name brand on it. I bought it at Montavilla Sewing in Beaverton, Oregon. It was 5.99. I tried to find one like it online but i can’t find it. Madam Sew has one that looks like it might be sturdy like mine.

    I've had a TL2010 for about 6 years, and all that time I've been using the little door on the bobbin case to insert it into the machine. This explains why I've had occasional issues with the bobbin thread going all wonky because I never knew to listen for that "click"! Very helpful!

    This is such a NECESSARY video. I have only had my TL-18 for about 2 months so I am still navigating my way around. I haven’t even watched the entire video yet and I have already discovered that I am not winding my bobbin correctly (never saw the tiny hole) and I never paid any attention to the top tension adjuster. Thanks so much for all the tips. 🤗

    I love this video! One tip that I learned about threading with the needle threader from one of Boki's videos is to press the needle up and down button to get the needle to "reset", but don't crank it higher after that (like I used to!!) It can go higher, but Boki said that needle down/up gets it in the perfect position, not the highest position, which is key! Ever since, I've not had any issues with my needle threader!! I really liked your "flossing" tip! I think that is a terrific way to make sure the thread is really seated where it should be! Thanks, HD!!

    My error was that I was wondering why my machine wouldn’t cut my threads or do the auto threading. I was using a 70 weight industrial thread. I used that same thread when I took my machine into the introductory class for my machine at my dealers store. They didn’t correct me either; they said to bring it into the repair shop and have them look it over. I learned more from your UA-cam videos than I ever did from them. Thank you so much!

    Before buying my 2010Q I watched every video out there, read reviews etc. Two most common complaints were the needle threader not working (I have the same problem but am going to make sure now I do it exactly as this wonderful video shows). The second thing is the thread cutter. Most reviews said the same thing - that it cuts the threads too short, requiring a needle re-thread which was a pain. While I'm hoping the threader will now work (though it hasn't been bad manually threading despite somewhat poor eyesight - I keep a magnifier close by), I don't believe there is a fix to the thread being cut too short. LOVE this machine no matter the two little quirks.

    I don't have a Juki yet, I am not sure which one I should be getting, so I will contact you. But, that said, this is an outstanding video! Great tips and insights! (i.e., threading with the pressure foot down, and setting the upper tension with the foot down. While these tips make sense, as a self-taught sewer I never knew this and didn't necessarily do it that way.) The filming in this video is excellent for teaching and explaining too! I really appreciate that. The oiling of the hook, or where the bobbin case gets inserted - "the 2nd ledge" and showing it zoomed in while spreading out the oil was so well demonstrated and communicated! These tips are valuable for all sewers! Thank you so very much. I am not so afraid of a long distance purchase of such an investment. Your support is outstanding! Thank you!!

    When the presser foot is down the tension disks are closed and you are more likely to NOT get the thread between the tension disks properly. The presser foot should always be up when you thread your machine. This is coming from 55 plus years of sewing on dozens of different machines.

      Donna Nelson This is a common user error video. He runs a shop with tons of customer service calls on a daily basis. He sees where issues come from. On this specific model machine it seems to work best for him; To floss the thread in the disk. He never said do it this way, but he chooses to as that’s what works best for him. Continue to do it with the foot up if that works for you. However with the flossing method the thread seats well in the disk and doesn’t move out. He mentions in other videos he’s seen the thread come out of the disks when the foots up, from the slightest movements while continuing the threading process when past the tension disk.

    I've been oiling the bobbin area in the wrong spot. It's hard to see exactly what the manual is pointing to. Thank you for these tips. I've had my Juki 2010 about 3 months and I love it. I ordered my machine from y'all.

    I didn't know the little hole before the tension disk needed to be threaded en route to the bobbin winder. I was also inserting the bobbin case while holding the little lever open, and I didn't know about the click.
    I wonder if you should update this video regarding the frequency of oiling, since your more recent one says every 3 months is sufficient, as opposed to the user manual which has us oiling the machine much too frequently.

    I use my TL18 to also wind my DX7 bobbins. That way I don’t have to unthread my machine just for a new bobbin. I get a better bobbin using the TL than on the DX🤷‍♀

    Oiling my TL2000 as much as you mention in this video landed my machine in the shop, lol. I would back off a bit on oiling it THAT much, especially if you use the automatic thread cutter, like I do.

      @JukiJunkies  11 місяців тому

      Yes we are just following that user manual. However we have found its definitely beneficial to not oil it that much and here is our updated video.

    I bought my Juki TL for 3 reasons. Just straight line plain stitch sewing, needle threader, and cutting the thread after I’m at the end of whatever I’m sewing. This was because I’m losing my sight and I need these helpers to help me still sew. I see other people use the cutter and move on to the next piece with ease but my machine seems to have too short of a cut as the thread comes out and needs to be threaded often. And it can take me 30 minutes to retread be.cause I find the auto threader too hard to figure out and use. I am in love with my machine and am trying to figure it all out before I’m really blind and will really have to feel my way to do anything.

      If you are near a dealer, I would suggest checking with them. I couln't use the threader either and had resigned myself to it. However when i mentioned this at my dealer they had someone sit with me and go over it. When i finally got it , it seemed so easy. Now i hsve no problems.

      I saw another video that showed that the pretension knob would govern the length of the thread tail of the cut. (I've not tested)

    I have a TL 2010q and to wind the bobbin, my manual doesn’t say to put the thread into the tinny hole before going around the disk then thread it into the bobbin on the right. Yours looks better doing it that way.

    Have had my TL2010Q for a few years and didn't know about the bobbin thread hole located below the bobbin tension winding disk. Opps!
    On your video, HOW TO OIL THE JUKI TL SEWING MACHINE! at 1:19 and again at 5:24, 7:28 and 8:13 you state that the 4 top oil spots should receive 1 to 2 drops every 3 to 4 months. To not over oil. Yet on this video you state every 3 to 4 hours. Quite a difference. Which is it?

    • @JukiJunkies
      @JukiJunkies  Рік тому +1

      Great question. We made this video before our updated version was released. We found that the user manual suggest oiling it a little to often. In fact our Juki rep is the man who suggested the new time frame for oiling. In this video we go over how to check ua-cam.com/video/7OCS4PDOXxQ/v-deo.html for yourself to make sure you don't over oil. I hope this helps.
      Thank you,
      David

      @@JukiJunkies Thank you for clarifying this. I opened the bottom of my machine-- by removing the 6 screws --- and oh my, what a large pool of oil!! I cleaned it up, screwed it all back together and will be oiling once every few months now. No, I didn't take the top off but this engineer is quite tempted. One drop every few months into each of those 6 holes. I'm still putting a drop on the bobbin raceway with every bobbin change, correct?
      Thanks for making great videos!
