The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

This lady had the extraordinary gift of becoming the song she was singing.
Like a mere handful of great singers, Judy was an actor (actress) who performed in song.

Just to avoid confusion, this is part of a pre-taped Judy Garland performance at the London Palladium. Ed showed some of the footage on his program, but the only time Judy actually performed on the Sullivan stage was for one color show in 1965.

Can't believe anyone else in these comments isn't bothered that this great performance is shortened here. WHY would anyone be so clueless to upload this without the first verse?? I did see the full version of this superior version on UA-cam before but for some reason it's gone now. (Added to my comment): Apparently the reason this was shortened was because The Ed Sullivan show released it that way after they obtained it from the London Palladium performance.
