- Hot Meal Using a Beverage Bag : DIY MRE : Eye-On-Stuff
In this video I show you how I used a hot beverage bag and a flameless ration heater (FRH) to heat up my meal.
I also answer a couple of viewer comments: (1)My MREs do not provide enough calories (2) beverage bags are only for beverages.

Protip: If you happen to have a Flameless Ration Heater that won't work (due to being expired, etc)... add a packet of salt to the water.
This is a great and simple demo. Love it. Would love to see more meal options made in this same method. Great job!
When your hungry any meal is a welcome. Being prepared on a hike, biking, kayaking or just out of your area you never know what to expect.
Good job!

I buy the humanitarian MREs from ebay. I pay $35 per case. There are 10 packs per case and each package has 2 meals in it. I have been buying food like rice and beans and flour since covid came out. If I had to ration my food to one meal per day each case I buy would give me 20 meals. So far I have 6 cases which would be 120 days of meals before I ever touched my other stuff. 4 months.
Thanks for the awesome ideas. I recently went camping and I brought along MREs. I'm really glad I brought it because after I set up my tent (I camp in a yurt really) I was really tired and it was dark. Instead of having to fire up the stove, I just used the MRE heater for a hot meal. Later when I had more time I used my stove. The thing is the MRE is very useful for when you don't have the time or energy to get a formal meal going.
That's a pretty solid mre dude love it. I like how you aimed for calirie density more than physical amount while keeping it hearty the cor with ham an I actually like anchovies wt crackers I do the same with my long rides on my bike but I usually get those liquid i.v. in bulk at Costco those are awesome and I go with the tuna usually and a can of spicy mustard sardines🤤sooo choice.
wow- great idea. just found out about these heater bags from a you tube video from 2014. Using the hot bev bag is a great idea. I like it. you can mix flavors. Thanks so much for this info and I love the container too. i was going to use vac seal bags.
Nice, but dump the anchovies and replace with smoked sardines.
Don't worry about anybody else thanks, if that's the meal you want,Then that will do wonders for your morale, which is the most important part of all.
Anchovies???!!11
Where did you get your Beverage bad from?
You haven't eaten a lot of canned fish, huh?
You didn’t eat the anchovies with 10x your daily value of sodium...
As crocodile Dundee would say.... that's not a knife
