Hi Kyle @ Weiderfan! Sorry we're so late on commenting! We've been working pretty hard to keep up with demand... and regretfully, we've neglected social media big time! So sorry about that!.Great review though! Shoot us another email! :)
Hey! Thanks for checking it out. Glad to hear you've been so busy! I hope I have played some role in that with my content here :-) I just sent you guys a FB message!
Thomas Fronk Sr. Just found out about these awesome rods 😎
I’m just undecided on which size to get 😂 but I dedo need sometime for long term and I love that wood handle
Love the 1/2 fatty uberleben ! Great rod !
the toothed notch is actually suppose to be used for scraping magnesium or possibly get wood scrapings. that's how überleben describes it. otherwise you will really waste the ferro rod
The half moon end is for scrapping particles or fat wood and the burred side edges are for striking sparks
FYI The tooth side is for making tinder not for scrapping you rod just thought you may want to know that. This is a very common mistake that people make.
The teeth are for scraping tinder and the edge is for scraping the starter.
Awesome!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Very nice rod and packaging. Nice to see a company go that extra mile. Definitely going to look them up. Thanks for sharing.
absolutely! I agree, I like the attention to the little things. the details. Its what separates the 'pretty goods' from the 'greats' in my opinion!
Looks like a great product. I've got Grandson's coming of age to use a product like these. Great reviews on them.
They're great!
hey brother, I think the teeth on the striker is meant to scrape wood and bark to turn it into Tinder.
Really? I didn't think so, but I won't argue! haha I've seen many, and they're usually advertised as rod scrapers. Thanks for watching brother!
I got a couple different rods and the striker is to strike the ferrocerium rod but the instructions said the teeth are to chew up Sticks to fluff up Tinder
Interesting!
The instructions for the multi-tool on their web site, specifically say the teeth portion of the tool is for scraping wood/material for tinder. I've done it with mine, and it worked great.
Thanks man. I was getting a little frustrated with the teeth. thanks for explaining!
Great tool and a nice job
Thanks Rusty!
I have one of their ferro rods tied to my X1 sheath with orange shok cord. Great fire steel!
really nice to see a striker that has allot of purchase for the hand and they seem to strike really well. nice review and look forward to more from your channel. God bless!
The serrated u shaped end is for creating tinder
220 sandpaper makes a great way to remove the coating initially much cleaner faster.
I've never heard of these guys before but I will check them out. They throw sparks like a champ 1/2" rods always seem to be better all around value in my opinion. They last longer and don't wear out as quick because they usually spark a flame on fewer strikes. Nice review!
Thanks Chad! I'm sure they'd appreciate it. This is my first 1/2", and I love it! Much nicer to hold, and the strike as you said!
great looking ferro rods
Thanks Wallace!
good review, that half inch is really nice
thanks! I really like it
I used to have one of the uberleben fire steels but the rod fell out of the handle only after a few uses, it was a great rod though.
I have an 8” überleben kräftig (1/2”) and it’s excellent
I bet!
not being able to hold it but the knot in the shock cord appears to be able to take out the knot and then it would be long enough to strike a spark
the shock cord is definitely long enough to adjust to a useable length! I just prefer to use my knife! Thanks for watching David!
@Bryon C just tie a simple overhand or stopper knot in each end of the shock cord after threading it through the lanyard holes instead of tying it in a loop.
The front part is not the striker.
Nice review, fire master!
haha thanks bro. Farrrrr from a master, but they sure are fun to play with!
I've been looking at the 1/2 inch one myself. Im actually hoping to win one from my VR to spooks GAW. Another reason i like it better than the smaller ferro rods is that if you drop it some where its much easier to find.
Good point buddy! I might throw some colored paracord through the eye of this one to make it even more visible. Good luck in Spooks giveaway!
Big Boy Bushcraft ill shoot u the code this Am its over now !
The first part that you tried using to scrape is for scrapping tinder off of wood, not for striking. ;D nice review though.
Very nice
thanks Dean O!
that kraftig is awsome
Thanks for the review. So, are they that much better than a similar size rod from GearBest or eBay??? I can believe a rod from Firesteel.com is better but I am hesitant to spend more than I need to for something
I understand what you're saying Mark. I haven't tried rods from the locations you mentioned, but I do know that this is a nice rod. I think much of the difference is the amount of sparks they throw, and more importantly the temperature. Differences in material composition between rods can change the temperature of the spark they throw. these are good rods for sure. but spending 10$ for a cheap one and 25$ for this one, hmm, that's a personal call eh?
When in doubt read the instructions.
Hi Kyle, could you please confirm me the size of the Kräftig you used? Its the 5" long right? Thank you, best wishes
5x1/2
Looks good, Weiderfan!! ;-)
thank you sir!
Sweet ! you know my opinion my bro !...Spook
P.S. i use the spine not the notch myself , ill be posting my Kraftig review and GAW results later today ! ,,,Happy Holidays and Great Review Kyle !
thanks Spook!
Fire it's a wonderful thing, and from a rod in a pinch, it's even better:)
I prefer a ferro rod! in all situations :-) I never use anything else
The small one is $26.00 + $19.59 shipping. Way to expensive for my taste.
It’s definitely not that much....try Amazon you can get the half inch with the handle for $22, free shipping if you have prime.
Say Heah, Yeah, I like large Ferro Rod's. No offense but Eugene that makes Leather Axe Sheath's and Leather Axe Holster, Makes a great large ferri rod with a nice leatger holster, Really nice and not at a bad price either, Sparks that bounce off the ground. ,, .
haha who is Eugene? Am I supposed to know who he is? Thanks for watching!
Eugen is from reviewsog but look up axe holster on your UA-cam search, you'll find him, well he makes a nice quality leather holster and ferro rod for the large ferro rod with wood handle and the holster, nice. ,, .
The reason why i want this ferro rod is because it has 20,000 strikes
Large one is $36.00 + $19.59 shipping. They are not that nice u less they are free............
Y'all can stick yo innuendos innuendo. XD
