This is a great theme, I love the leitmotivs from old FF14 songs and the prog rock influences (1:19 notably). I feel this guy is gonna be super fun in savage, he's really agressive in his later phases. I really enjoyed the Abyssos story as well.
Specifically, it uses leitmotifs from Without Shadow (Ascian theme), Thunderer (Ascian combat theme), and Shadows Withal (Akadaemia Anyder theme). Very fitting, as Lahabrea was the first Ascian the WoL faced, and so the first two tracks are most strongly associated with him. Meanwhile, he is also the head of the Akadaemia Anyder (whose theme itself is essentially a rearrangement of Without Shadow).
I don't know why I'm getting 'Sunrise' (Suzaku's theme) vibes from the first minute of this song. Which is fitting since he uses a phoenix and the song is called 'Embers'.
Given what the story got us so far its safe to say that athena is the one behind all of this ans that she's still alive. Consisering she's willing to use her own son fpr her experiment makes me wonder...is this gonna be jenova?
Thats what my thoughts were by the end, my first thought is "someone is pulling the strings here" and the implications are heavy on athena. Also my friend brought up how someone had to break out not-habrea out of his prison and it'd make sense for athena to be the one to do it. My only question now is....whats the end goal here for stirring all this up.
@@SuperHexer123 Honestly I think Not-lahabrea is going to end up the one we've known. Because he was in crystal during the shundering and Emet/Elidibus somehow found another method to survive. Like they would need all the help they can get to rejoin the world's and would be just a minor retcon to show why Lahabrea was so unhinged/weaker than the other two. I bet he, like fandaniel was playing the long game. Pandemonium was his ultimate back up plan, to achieve true resurrection for both him and his wife, just that he needs Emet and Elidibus out of the picture first because he stands no chance against either of them.
Thinking Emperor of Heaven as well (all the references to traps were rly excellent haha), we’ve now fought his “Hell Emperor” incarnation. it’d be delightful if we find out he’s been plotting a way to take control of the aetherial sea itself since his death in HW. what’s so endearing about Lahabrea is the man simply does not know when to give up.
The music for FFXIV is so good, I legitimately listen to it on a playlist even when I'm playing games like Guild wars 2 whenever I need a break from FFXIV>
Listening to Embers while fighting Archaeotania in The Tempest and then the piano from Akadaemia Anyder kicks in while the fight takes place overlooking Amaurot: Absolute Enlightenment. You should try it!
Spoilers for the end of the tier, though why anyone would be in this comment section before having finished the raid is beyond me: I'm confident that present Lahabrea has to be the one who pulled Pandaemonium into the lifestream. Who else would have the motivation to do so? Plus, present-day Lahabrea had his full sigil, rather than the half one that we saw on him this tier, implying that in the time since then and the modern day he refused with Hephaistos. Not to mention it would mirror Emperor Mateus from FFII taking control of hell after his death and ruling from his own Castle Pandaemonium.
@@Andyjoe522 This was my thought. I think Lahabrea is going to use Claudien to try and resurrect himself, and the final tier is going to be a true fight against complete, full-power Lahabrea.

"Im not going to sugar coat it." "THERE ARE PREY TO BE CONSUMED!"
"Rest eternal in the dark depths of this prison!"
It is revealed that there is a lyrics version of this song via orchestrion, only attainable in SAVAGE.
Why did it take me a year and a half to realize that this is basically a sped-up remixed version of the Ascian themes from earlier in the game..?
I don't know why I'm getting 'Sunrise' (Suzaku's theme) vibes from the first minute of this song. Which is fitting since he uses a phoenix and the song is called 'Embers'.
Hearing a bit of Thunderer in there made me like it, but that mixup into Shadows Withal...headbanger right there.
I highly doubt it's gonna be a Jenova situation. If anything I'm getting more Garland from IX with a dash of Emperor of Heaven from II vibes.
@@NeoBluereaper And given our Lahabrea's dead, someone with Hesphaistos's crystal could go into the Aitiascope and *find him*.
Love how they overlayed “The Thunderers” over this
Man this whole raid series has music that sounds like its ripped straight from Castlevania and I'm SO here for it
I spy a Wesk Alber lol
Dude makes great guides
1:19 sweet baby Jesus this part is so satisfying
This music gives Shin megami tensei vibes. I like it.
God the Akadaemia Anyder bit is so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
Is nobody gonna talk about how this is the only part of the raid tier that's voice acted?
was really surprising but i am happy that it is voiced!
Probably to make up for the lack of lyrics.
Just like Shiva/Ryne in E8 😆
remember we are already much bigger than usual in elpis to walk with the ascians, now look at lahabrea here, if we were normal size he would be huge!
This is a very roundabout way of having a rematch with Lahabrea
Is that THE Wesk Alber?
"This is gonna be so much fun in savage." Said every player ever.
Meanwhile I am very scared of "son of Zodiark and Hippokampus" P7S
3 hrs into savage with no prog because x player didn't wanna get serious: " This ain't so much fun anymore. "
@@willa1018 Let's be honest. The dreaded "3rd Savage" curse will strike again.
Holy shit, Wesk Alber's in this one
Weskalber spotted, gamer alert
Lol the Wesk Alber Cameo I recognized him in the cutscene
Did i spot WeskAlber as a Dragoon there?
I like how the first three fights had lyrics and final didn't. Opposite of the first part. Fantastic music man.
There's _still_ that mysterious "White Stone Black" theme that's exclusive to its Savage version, though...
Salty this isn’t on the EP, it’s so good.
I do wonder if we will fight our original Lahabrea, and he's been playing the long game to achieve true resurrection.
Spoilers for the end of the tier, though why anyone would be in this comment section before having finished the raid is beyond me:
I'm confident that present Lahabrea has to be the one who pulled Pandaemonium into the lifestream.
Don't get me wrong the drums are good but how is nobody talking about the fucking bass on this track goddamn
So..
With the help of Lahabrea we must defeat Lahabrea, only for Lahabrea to transform into a bigger Lahabrea, and with the means of Lahabrea's help once again, we must defeat Lahabrea.
Uvi: "Let's play Spot the Motifs"
Oh! Me first, me first! o/
So, I can spot the Ascian Motif which we have heard before in both Without Shadow and Shadow Withal(which this song seems to draw inspiration from both) as well as the Motif from Thunderer which played during the fight against Lahabred as well as Sideburns, err, Nabriales. Also, I just realized how similar both Thunderer and Maker's Ruin sound in certain parts, so I guess there's a bit of Maker's Ruin? Technically? Maybe?
EDIT: Thanks to Darth Sanguine for correcting me about the Ascian's theme name!
Akademia anyder too
@@sawyer3244 That's actually where Shadows Withal plays! Which is kinda sad when you think about. All along, the Ascians wanted the world they lost, and the theme that's related to them (Without Shadow) is basically a dark, twisted version of a song that is related to the Ancients(Shadows Withal), where they come from
Shadows Within isn't a thing - you're thinking of Without Shadow.
@@DarthSanguine I am yes. Whoops! Changing it now
@@nick_woow ohh I get it now lol
holy quack, in a parity with Wesk Alber
I agree that this one took a bit get used to, but alot like Seiryu, it reminds me of old school bosses and I love when songs with chaotic nature are added to bosses that do alot of stuff in their fights. Just puts you more in a battle ready mindset i guess
Now that i think of it. This really is the Ascian version of the Metion trial. All the motifs rolled into one with a full remix. Would have worked gloriously for warrior of ligth or a similar fight. Looking forward to savage phase 2.
Also the god damn melody starts with a guitar solo for hells sake xd
Lahabrea's Abyssos: Final Lap
Bro I just noticed, Wesk Alber is in the party 😎
So this is how it feels to be a child protective services agent
The music in this game is just something else Soken is a god.
Whenever I do this fight, my head bops with the the tune the entire battle.
...It took me far longer than it should have to recognize Wesk is this video
Dude's looking like a Resident Evil villain
I love how this is a mix of Ultima weapon, the Akadaemia Anyder and his own final boss theme from ARR.
There's no Ultima Weapon. It's Ascian cutscene theme, Thundrer (Ascian battle theme) & Akademia Anyder.
@@PetarBladeStrok Ah gotcha.
Square Enix: We need you to make a song that's a mix of Machinations, Thunderer, Shadows Withal, and make it sound like the boss is having an identity crisis.
Soken: Hold my beer.
You just KNOW this is just p1 and p2 will slap just as hard
Extremely easy for the last circle of the quartet but that didn't stop us from wiping 3 times because nobody would kill the adds
definitely gonna be a door boss in savage
Now these are LIT-MOTIFS!
Kinda love this track way more than Scream
I love that its a mishmash of all of Lahabrea-related themes!
Really love the guitar and piano here
Everyone is calling him not-habrea.
i call him fauxhabrea.
I love how this song sounds like something out of an arcade final boss fight. I really love it!!
