If you check her story, she basically one day at 17 decided to move from the US to Europe, and was playing keyboards with Ancient, Dimmu Borgir and many of the biggest black/death metal bands in Europe and toured the world like crazy. And of course, was even married and stayed friends for a long time with Alexi Laiho, absolutely crazy.

According to law she is responsible for these things. She wanted to be there for the service as is her legal right which is why everything was delayed. If Alexi wanted to divorce her he could've at any time, no papers would've needed to be signed as they had been separated for so long. That's about it, lots of hurt and miscommunication basically.
I used to watch the hell out of this video back when it came out. I'm pretty sure I recorded it to my VHS player. I could not get enough of the attitude that's in these guitar parts and the solo selection. RIP Alexi!
This is so sad that one of the best guitar players of all time (Alexi Laiho) never became hella famous like Hendrix and just died due to alcohol/drug problems at age 41 (so young). I'm really sad over this because he was part of my teenage years when I was totally new to underground Metal back in the 90s discovering new bands (and Children of Bodom/Sinergy were one of my favorites on Nuclear Blast records). I still remember the very first time the University of Davis (in California) played Deadknight Warrior on a radio show that came on at midnight which was the first time I first learned about Children of Bodom. Then I discovered Sinergy through a Nuclear Blast Records Compilation (Death is Just The Beginning Volume 4). I hope the Metal community always remembers Alexi Laiho as one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

@@homevalueglass3809 It kinda depends on what kind of metal you prefer. I think Sweden dominates with black and progressive metal, whereas the Finns do the melodic power and symphonic metal a lot better.

The only power metal band I still listen to, not only that but it's one of my favorites even after 15 years. Sad that there isn't even a full playlist on youtube, and that they fell apart. Especially Kim since she didn't continue her career.

Yup. The CoB ones were also good, but from around Are You Dead Yet he started getting less creative. Some great CoB solos: Kissing the Shadows, Bodom Beach Terror.
Alexi himself admitted that playing neo classical was complex but cool however he didn't want every material he create sound same all the time and hate crew deathroll was the defining moment to their musical style that they found to their liking and went that route onwards ; though we all know that surely Alexander kuoppala was so much fundamental cause alongside the reigning laiho to why COB was so damn good sounding band ;. It's a shame tjogh he quit because fans never got to see how even better COB would have become with all due respect to roope but Alexander loss was too big to why we don't get that sound of mid 2000s anymore
@@nn4299 Like many of us he was into Yngwie at first and you could hear all the Yngwie licks in Hatebreeder and Something Wild. He started expanding his horizons and didn't want to be an Yngwie clone. He carved out his own style

Love it. I'm just getting into this band and i have nothing negative to say. You all can bitch all you want about "this band/that band" or whatever your problem is but it doesn't change the fact that this is a kickass song. Suicide by my side is a fantastic album. and yes, (before you all start trying to act smart) i know this song is not on that album.

Well Alexi himself said few years ago that out of the two Roope is technically more talented, but Alexi writes the songs so he wants to play the solos too. Luckily Roope gets some solos here and there :)

alexi may play better in matters of speed and technique but roope plays so frickin clean...he never misses a note, whereas alexi does sometimes
