Yeah they should, unfortunately we don’t really have any fisheries that really give a crap about this stuff. I’d love to be a creek surveyor and get paid documenting what’s in creeks
@@Dundeel. Was looking at getting a licence for a koi pond in Victoria, as they're illegal without... Couldn't even find out how, but guarenteed if i didnt have one id cop a fine.
Oh yeah no doubt in my mind just like it’s illegal to take tilapia and mosquito fish home have to dispatched on the spot and binned, I’m not game enough to do it even for feeder fish not worth risking a find. I more so meant the people releasing these fish won’t get caught it gets done so often up here.
Nothing but positive vibes going out to you Bro. Love seeing another creek enthusiast giving a fuck about his environment. My Son (18 years old) and I were at the creek today netting and towards the end, before I said anything, my Son was filling the net with rubbish. Sometimes as a parent you get a special moment and this was one of those for me. I know that my Son has that respect for the world he lives in and that he will do his best to leave it better than he found it. Love your work.
Well it’s more than likely come from there shop but this video isn’t to slander the store stuff like this is a possibility in aquarium trade and I do agree they should be on the clean up
Hello again. Wow, that’s terrible to see these in our waterways….and at the rate these guys multiply…..wowsers. Whereabouts on the gc was this? By an industrial estate obviously…was it in Nerang?
That Lawrence drive Nerang? Also the small lake/wetlands behind the IGA up the road there at Highland Park SPA has a lot of aquarium fish in it and a few massive gold fish.
New it….Wow!! Crazy we know its Lawrence Dve Industrial from this short clip hey…… 😂 Wanna Say Reppin 4211 but seeing this n knowing there r uneducated people putting unwanted Pets into our Waterways Honestly makes me batshit angry. I can c a future where pet owners of all breeds of animals will require Licenses to prevent (Hopefully Mostly) Shit like this from killing our local ecosystems. It would be a good idea to get a few of us Gold Coasters & Surrounding locals together to do a Busy Bees to try n collect as much of n as many Invasive Breeds of Flora & Fauna as we come across. We could meet at different locations once a month, or more if there’s enough interest….. Who would be down for something like this? Anyone?
Yeah that’s what suspect maybe they was something out behind the shop or just escaped who knows but definitely would have to be from the shop I suspect the creek must be holding other stuff from there too
Pretty sure that our local pufferfish eat snails, now that said as our waterways no longer sustain populations of these fellas too well you don't see them in the brackish zones much anymore. BTW get used to seeing new invasive pests. virtually every year i find new plants or critters getting loose and no one really cares. I can remember when there was no such thing as an asian house gecko in this country, just as an example. :)

The shit thing is that the licenses only hinder those that do the right thing anyway. It wont affect those not not doing the wrong thing as they wont care.
Fisheries or which ever dept in QLD looks after the fresh waterways should contract you to get rid of these invasive species.

@@Dundeel. Only money in fines for not doing the right thing. No money for actual preservation of waterways.
@@Mr_jz_12 yeah it’s a joke.. very unlikely people get caught anyways which is the worst part

No words. That's horrible for our waterways.
Yeah it’s mind blowing how real it is though I still can’t get my head around it
You are doing a great job. It’s criminal how people can just dump their unwanted aquarium pets/pests into our waterways.
The Aquarium shop should be doing this clean up if they caused the release of invasive species in our once pristine waterways!
Well it’s more than likely come from there shop but this video isn’t to slander the store stuff like this is a possibility in aquarium trade and I do agree they should be on the clean up

Yeap in Nerang industrial area the motorbike district
2 invasive species, mystery snails and alligator weed.
Yeah, I need to get more familia with plants I don’t really know to many to identify invasive
Should make some diy snail traps just load it with them
I’ll have to look up how to do that

Good on you for taking the snails out of the waterway. 👌
ha that looked like nerang, theres a aquarium fish shop right across from there
Yeap just behind the shop
@@Dundeel. if you need blood worms they were the cheapest on the coast last time I checked that's for the box of 5👍
@@Drako76able yeah they have decent prices on there fish in there also
Mate so keen for you to get a jack. I reckon Mack is a pretty cool name for one. I will call my one that one day.
Good job mate 👍

Still going hard I’m back
Yeah we need to film some videos in the coming weeks now everything’s slowed down with holidays over

Sweet video bud
Are you available tomorrow to shoot a collab video?
Surely if you report this to the local government or council they will have to take action!
Where is that place
