I've caught these guys in some really weird isolated inland places. I couldn't figure out how they could've got there. So did some research. Turns out that these shrimp eggs survive bird's digestive tracts. So a bird can eat a shrimp with eggs, then shit in a dam 20kms away, and the eggs will still hatch.

I bought a fish trap. I'm in the south island of NewZealand 🌸 so baited my trap with bread and set it in a creek for couple of hours. When I went to collect it, the top had been ripped to shreds by water rats 😔😞

You look Very Attentive to the Surroundings & being quite safe in your movements, Been at these kind of places & seen some Eastern Browns drinking from the waters edge & their heads were pretty much the only thing you could see because of the Grass. Stay safe.

You should try and find some contaminated ponds or creeks, and see if any fast breeding introduced species are slowly mutating in size or colour over time.

I actually have a bunch of those fish you can have for your fishes feeds if you want (also in brisbane)

sword-tails can grow up to 4-5 inch long (females, males with sword can be larger but rarely are) just like Sail-fin and High-fin mollies can grow up to 8 inch long, the problem lies with people crossbreeding the various species, mollies with high and sail fin mollies (makes the big ones smaller) while Platy's and sword-tails mixes also get smaller, its the opposite with Endler and "normal" guppies, they get bigger but sadly endler guppies are endangered in nature and pure endlers are hard to find in nature and in most stores.
