Well done Al! Think ill have to sign up for this one next year! And good luck for the pendulum. Me and my pals will all be there so hopefully see you about to say hi!
wonderful Al! 👌🏻 I feel that you are really lucky to have such a great supportive network around you of other mad people who also want to tackle ultras! I generally run by myself as noone I know is quite so mad or can run at my ridiculously slow pace (but damn Smid, I can't believe he left you!! 😫 ) Ultras are as much a mental game as they are a physical game and the pain cave is absolutely real so well done for pulling through. Looked like a great event though! as an aside and just cos i'm nosey, would like to see the medal on the video too..
Thanks Nic! Yeah, I’ve got a good squad! Smid and I have been mates for 30 years! Pace isn’t everything but it does help to all be somewhere near one another… although in this case Smid evidently decided I was holding him back! Good point re. the medal, I tend to forget about them but I’ll show more in future videos!
Not sure if you remember but whilst stuffing our faces at Stocksfield CC a couple of us were talking about The Pier 2 Pier (South shields --> Roker) run towards the end of May? As we mentioned - always a good race & would be good to see you do a video of that one - if you can get in....🤔😁
I do remember! However I’ve just checked my diary and realised I’m at Keswick Mountain Festival that weekend! Maybe next year as I’ve heard good things about it from a few people! Weekends start to get busy from about April don’t they!
"Ultra running is built up of highs and lows, peaks and troughs, ups and downs ... and at the minute I'm in a world of despair" ... very deep and poetic. Great effort by you and the rest of the runners - enjoyed both parts ... so is it Staiths or Staithes?
I think Staiths but oddly, the road leading to it is called Staithes Road! Very strange! Thanks mate, you end up with a lot of time to think when you’re trudging up a hill after 30k of running!
Well done 👍 loving the channel. Even though you’re a bit quicker than me, it’s nice to have some relatable content rather than just the ultra fast I’m used to seeing. And a Boro lad to boot! You remind me of a young Bob Mortimer. No higher praise to be had
Well done Al, great effort!! And great video as always. I'll be in the pain cave myself this weekend, Hardmoors 55 miler to do 😬. North Yorkshire fishing village staithEs 👍😂
Wow! I’ve never done a Hardmoors event so should sort it out! Aren’t they always longer than stated though?! Haha, Staithes with an E! Beautiful place too! Good luck!
@@AlPepperRuns Yes they are. However, the 55 is actually 53!! Which I am more than happy to accept!! 😂 Definitely get a hardmoors event in your diary, they are a joy to behold......see if I'm saying that on Sunday morning!! 😮💨 I'll be videoing my journey (not quite up to your standard, but feel free to give it a watch. 👍
Good work to all 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
Thanks Shaun!
Really enjoyed it Al well done on finishing.the course looked great.cant wait for the pendulum.thanks again.
Thanks Paul! Ha, the Pendulum certainly isn’t going to be my fastest ever performance! It looks absolutely solid!
Great stuff Al, well done to you all. Always nice to be able to watch it back after an event. 👊🏻
Thanks mate! Well done to you too! It was surprisingly challenging!
Another cracking video. Keep them coming👍
Thank you! Appreciate it!
It was like watching Scott and Bowers. Great stuff Al
Haha, niche reference there! I had to google it! Although a bit grim! They didn’t make it!

Ah nice! Yeah, definitely say hi! I’m secretly nervous about how hard Sunday will be! Equally excited though!
@@AlPepperRuns me too! There is some serious elevation to be had! Can't wait 😂🤢

@@AlPepperRuns I think it's just cos Smid couldn't handle the wit and enthusiasm you were exuding that day! :)
