Haha! Yeah, unfortunately that prop animation has been a problem in the sim for a long time now. It does indeed have issues, figuring out exactly what state it wants to be in XD Cheers, all the best!
Thanks for this, this is one of my regular trips , having lived in Kent up until moving to France full time 3 years ago , I'm familiar with the area. Regards.
Thank you very much, Mark! Yes, the S4 is actually a very nice option for touring; excellent visibility and fairly speedy also. The only thing that would perhaps detract from it being used as a tourer, is that the aircraft can be quite sensitive on the controls and so would probably get a little bit tiring to fly after a while. Still, a great little addon either way! Cheers, have a great day : )
Very nice John! I’m glad the video brought back some good memories then (and I’m glad you enjoyed it). Thanks very much for watching and all the best! : )
Living in Kent, I often try and land at Headcorn. It's also a nice place to visit in real life to watch the Spitfires taking off and landing whilst doing the Aero Legends trips. £3 to park there all day, Happy days.
I haven’t managed to make it over to Headcorn in the real world, but that certainly sounds like a great (and very affordable) day out haha! Perhaps, if I ever find myself back in that part of the world, I’ll have to pop over and see if I can’t catch a Spit or two : ) Cheers, all the best!
Don’t ignore the RPM or you will get a burned-up engine! For simplicity I’ve been flying it with the auto prop engaged-approximates a US LSA which can’t have a constant speed prop. Also, no exaggeration on the bumpiness. Very nicely models a plane of this weight and wing loading. Having learned to fly on the Colorado Front Range in a similar plane, Gobosh 700, believe me… it’s too mild, if anything. I love this product! Great job FSReborn!
Hello Patrick, I’d be the first to admit that I know very little about operating a Rotax engine haha but, I certainly wasn’t (intentionally) ignoring the RPM; I had the prop in auto during the early stages of the climb (perhaps I have misunderstood the mode, but I presume that would give an appropriate RPM for the power setting) and then later during the cruise, switched to manual and reduced the RPM’s to what I assumed was a more reasonable range (within the green band). If I did something wrong though, I’m always happy to learn / stand corrected? : ) Thanks for your feedback re the aircraft’s flight model. I haven’t ever flown an LSA myself; it’s nice to hear that FSReborn nailed the S4’s behaviour. Cheers, all the best!
Always good to see the S4. I reckon it gives one of the best GA experiences in msfs. I've always wondered why it has an inop prop lever though. A quick change to the cfg file and you've got a working prop lever, along with a nice bump in cruise performance. IDK if that's true to life though. Also, thanks for making a landing which is pretty good, rather than absolute butter. Gives us mortals some hope 😉
To be fair it doesn't look floaty to me. More a case of landing further down the runway, rather than on the numbers. Obviously you don't want to float IRL, but there's nothing wrong with a gentle landing.
Indeed Roland; it had been a long old while since I last picked up the S4, but it’s a fun little aircraft and FSReborn have certainly done a very nice job with it overall. I can’t profess to know much regarding the prop lever but, given the S4’s general level of quality, I would imagine the config is not unintentional. Haha! No worries. I chuck in a mediocre landing every now and then, just for the sake of variety, of course : P All the best!
Ah right LCC, very nice! It sounds like FSReborn got the flight modelling pretty spot-on then, as the S4 (in the sim) can feel a little bit like a leaf in the wind sometimes XD Cheers, all the best!
Thanks very much Squirel, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, FSReborn have done a very nice job with the Sting overall. It has indeed been a while since I reviewed the aircraft - I tried a spot of parachuting during that flight haha ; ) Cheers and have a great day!
Always a Pleasant and Educational Thank You. You even make little aeroplanes fun. Don't they have an Area in the he UK that is the End of the Earth called " Lands End " ??
Cheers Mike, I certainly try my best haha! We do indeed. I actually recorded a flight down to Lands End, but never ended up publishing the video. I shall have to record another trip down there at some point - there’s a nice handcrafted Asobo airport there also : ) Many thanks and have a great day!
Very nice flight and wonderful scenery. I was wondering, have you messed around with the Inibuilds AN-225? I was curious what you thought of that flight model.
Thank you very much once again, Pythos. I’m glad you enjoyed it! I do own the AN-225, but I’ve yet to actually get around to flying it haha (though I do have a video idea in mind). From what I have heard, the flight model is pretty “sporty”, for such a behemoth of a machine ha? All the best : )
Hi Stefan. Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! At the time of recording, my graphics settings were broadly as such: - “High End” preset - Pre-Cache = Ultra - Terrain and Object visibility sliders set at 125% (sorry, I forget the actual names of them) - Motion Blur = Off - Glass Cockpit Refresh = Medium - AI Traffic = Off - VSync = On / 60fps That gives a nice balance between graphical fidelity and performance. I only run at 1080p, hence the decent FPS / smooth performance. The things I’ve turned off / down are known to be famerate hogs. It’s important to note, I also spend a lot of time tweaking the weather / lighting in my videos, which accounts for much of the graphical fidelity you see (as that can make a huge different to how the sim looks overall). I hope that helps a little! All the best : )
Hi Antic, I use NCH Software’s “Videopad”. It’s by no means the best video editor out there but, it’s cost-effective haha, does everything I need it to do and I’m very familiar with the software / UI at this point. I hope that helps? All the best! : )
I too do this flight regularly as it is my local area, thank you. Quick question, where did the radio traffic heard on the video come from, sounded authentic to the area?
My pleasure SRN4, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight. The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after (that not with any UK ATC, unfortunately). I hope that clarifies things. All the best : )
Hi Omega, Never say never but, the S4 isn’t a priority for me at the moment (generally, I find it more productive to review “new” addons, as opposed to revisiting aircraft that I have already featured). It’s a great addon though and no doubt even better, as a result of SU15’s G3X improvements : ) Thanks for the suggestion and all the best!
Thank you very much once again, Cade! Sadly, I don’t get to do nearly as much GA flying as I would like. Circumstances don’t really allow for it at the moment, but I would definitely like to get back into GA flying, as and when it’s possible to do so (it’s one of the big reasons I enjoy simming, as at least it give me some sort of opportunity to enjoy different types of aircraft / flying). Cheers, all the best! : )

Is the Sting S4 a LSA in the UK? The variable pitched prop threw me. If MOSAIC passes here in the states, the Sport Pilot License is going to be actually useful. But for now it's fixed prop, 105 KTS I think, stall at 45 and gross weight making anything more than a Cub and custom designed LSA ineligible.
120 knots, but absolutely agree, the current rule is absolutely logic-free. I’ll believe MOSAIC when it passes, not a moment before. Very skeptical-not enough room for graft for the usual suspects. :(
I’m afraid I’m not sure on that one Kyle; I never went down the LSA rabbit hole myself and I don’t have much to do with GA flying these days (sadly - it is something I would like to get back into at a later date). UK licensing is a little bit different from most other countries (I believe), in that we have a couple of licence categories below PPL (NPPL and LAPL), both of which allow the holder to fly aircraft of varying standards. Sorry I can’t offer up a concrete answer for you there. All the best! : )
Both Headcorn and Lydd are payware sceneries - developed by Burning Blue Design and available from a number of retailers. I hope that clarifies things. Cheers : )
Fun fact! Due to the aircraft having no window in the canopy, the manufacturer recommends to say „clear prop“ through the air vent instead.
Haha, is that so, Gregstarjun - that’s not one I’ve come across before XD
Cheers, all the best!
1:15 I like the Cessna with a Schrodinger's propeller inside the hangar.

Cool video. I've recently purchased a new sting S4. The video is very real looking and the sounds are very accurate too. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure on the video Roger, thanks for watching!

Real pilots do firm landing. Floating down runway between airborne/ on ground is a flight simmer procedure.
