Secondary market the RX6800 can be had for 280. Absolutely smokes this card. Hell a 6700XT is 200-220 on secondary and still beats this card in most games. I wouldn't rule out secondary cards at all.

It only needs a gaming GPU. Many people now use these as home computers. They only lack resizable BAR. So I'll be looking for a used RX6700XT.

Nice Test! FYI, I got the ASRock B580 Steel Legend, and it overclocks quite similar to your result with Intel LE, around 7% uplift on average on games. (Max Power, +50 Voltage, +75 Mhz offset - around 3.15 - 3.25Ghz GPU Clock, and only 19.5 Gbps RAM because setting it at 20Gbps or more gives lower result for some reason)

Everything else seems to work But I did notice old Alchemist performance problems in Horizon Zero Dawn(underutilized gpu usage) still exist, and i did notice inconsistent 1% lows in certain games, but 60fps RTSS limit usually fixes that issue.

Outstanding. I still want to get an A770 16GB Limited card, just for keepsakes. I'm Super thrilled that Intel ARC is being so well recieved with the Battlemage release. We _NEED_ this, . . . we really do. But, I do (of course) have a gripe. Enough with _BUDGET_ cards only having x8 PCIe lanes. Budget GPUs are _Going_ to be put into older systems. They _MUST_ *fully support* PCIe3x16 & DX9 . . . period.
From other reviews, apparently XeSS upscaling is now on par with DLSS in terms of image quality. We can all admit that Nvidia won't lose any share over this - they definitively offer worse cost-performance products and everyone still buys them for some reason. But, AMD may take a serious blow from Intel if they don't bother making the 8000 series strongly price competitive. If they offered up the 8800XT at $450, they might actually have a chance.
@@kazuviking I think that this products coming from Intel is the reason why AMD a few months ago anticipated ML-based FSR4 and they would focus on the low-mid segment not even competing for an ELO product with Nvidia. They have a chance to fight back with Intel and make more people happy than the ones Nvidia will ever make with their xx90 series. I hope we will see a good fight in the coming months!

Wish Intel would release an affordable 32GB-VRAM GPU. I don't play games, but to run AI, I need more VRAM. Sick and tired of GPU companies' rationing VRAM.
Things will start to change next year once AMD releases Strix Halo. Sure, it'll be expensive at first, but it should still be a much better value proposition than nGreedia's products.
@TechPowerUp i have my EVGA RTX 3060 XC in an SFF build with a Ryzen 7 3700X. I saw another UA-camr benchmark my card with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and it was in the 200+ FPS range. This is why I was curious how my card compared to the B580.
I think the AsRock Challenger will be the best, especially aesthetically. Not to mention that the B570 that will be available in January 2025 is also identical (form factor).

Highly doubt it's scalpers. This card isn't going to be high demand for using on mining crypto compare to the others and what can they scalp with it when there are other GPU? They want 300/350 dollars? Then get a 4070 instead on the used market.

TechPowerUp made a complete mess of the Space Marine 2 test. The 4060 Ti 16 GB ended up behind the 8 GB version in the overall average across 25 games, even though it outperformed in several games by a decent margin. Just to highlight the absurdity: the 4060 Ti 8 GB "scored" 103 FPS compared to a ridiculous 56.5 FPS for the 16 GB version. And the 4060? It came out way ahead of the 4060 Ti 8 GB, hitting over 70 FPS. lol, that alone wrecked the entire average. There are other nonsensical results too, like the 3070 being 50% ahead of the 3060 Ti. The worst part? They haven’t fixed anything yet. Total amateur hour.
Wish I hadn't bought the A-770. The sting of that flop has me real wary here. No reason they couldn't have polished Alchemist more. I feel like a step that got used and abandoned. Shit I still have graphical issues in games.

We are currently at a turning point when it comes to graphics cards, and AMD will immediately feel it if they don’t act, because Intel’s card has better ray tracing and upscaling. If AMD is smart, they will release a card with just as much RAM and on-par or better performance at an equal price point. If they don’t, they will be in trouble immediately. Nvidia, however, is a different case. You can bet that the Nvidia fanboys will just buy the new 5060 and 5070, even though they are overpriced and don’t have enough VRAM. These people will realize what a mistake they’ve made in the next couple of years when 8 gigs of VRAM won’t cut it, even at 1080p. It will finally hit them when they try to sell those cards second-hand and discover they are completely worthless. Change is coming, but it will take at least another year or two.
Not new, no. RTX3070 is one of the most mined with cards and the whole 3000 series is more prone to memory issues and on top of that have limited capacity issues, which ends up choking the card in modern titles, the 3070’s are overpriced turds, even second hand. Good job Intel.
Not for me. None of the 3000 series cards have the new hardware media encoders the Arc GPUs have. The 3070 is also an 8GB card making it a worse option than the B580 for VRAM heavy work I do. The B580 is a great entry level card and has some nice features no other GPU has as of writing.

Not really. Idle-stop is new this gen and is a bit buggy but hopefully that will be resolved. Under load the fans are at ~1300rpm

Intels Frame Gen and Low Latency is beating amd as well which is huge.

You can briefly see the 3060 at 2:05 and 3:20, but typically it performs worse than the Arc A770 so it didn't get a callout.

We test at ultra so the results aren't comparable probably, but the 3060 averaged 68fps in our suite and the B580 got 82fps at 1080p.
