- Only 2 chords but so much can be done to make this song sound so good. All that’s left is to get Chris’s voice exactly!! How hard can that be?

Hi, I'm Mark and I've been teaching and playing guitar professionally for 26 years now, and I've picked up a lot of insights along the way; things I wish I had known when I started out. That's why I started this channel - to share this knowledge with you.
But this is more than just a place to learn guitar. It's also place where you can hang out, relax, be yourself, get support, make friends and get inspired to have more fun with your guitar. So go ahead. Pick up your axe. Hit play. And be a better guitarist.

wow... this is just fantastic.. brilliant.. crispy sound.. great work.. love the way you presented.. awesome background.. Pls chk the latest father daughter production on my channel. 😊
I checked out your channel my friend! Great job on you videos too🙌🏼😎
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel Thank you buddy.
Definitely an inspiration. Your video that you talked about taking care of yourself and looking after your own health really touched home for me. Being a veteran and 2 time divorce dad, guitar is my only oasis. Your videos helped my confidence. Amazing teacher and Definitely glad to have discovered your videos.
Thanks so much Johnny. I’m also X military… I spent nine years in the New Zealand defence force but now happily play lots of guitar. The good thing is the guitar will never leave you LOL… Also it gives you good inspiration for writing country songs
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel Yes, thought the same and was ready to lay down some good soulful country songs, but everytime i played them back to myself i would get my house back my wife back and dog back. Lol old country joke! I served 10 years US Army. I was even fortunate to bring my guitar to Kuwait during a deployment. That new Martin would have been a great idea for packing lite with the removable neck. I just saw your review on it. Awesome guitar!
Legendary Johnny! That guitar is a beast... make sure you look after yourself mate! We all deserve to be at peace, regardless of what we’ve had to endure. No one leaves this world without scars... I feel a country song a comin🤔🙌🏼😂
This is the most wholesome comment section I've ever seen.
There is 5 chords in Tennessee Whiskey… not 2.
So much magic in one lesson
Now go and make your magic sounds!!
great! now the singing :D Some alternative options to riff that "you're as WAAAAAAAHAAARM as a glass of brandyyy"..? ;D
Bahahaha!! 👌🏻
Great stuff, especially explaining the feel. I think that original has A to Bm progression.
If you put a capo on the 2nd fret you can utilize those techniques and they’ll ring out to A and Bm with the G and Am chord shapes.
Great video love the way it’s presented and the amazing info you share. You deserve to be one of the best teacher on you tube. Miss your cover of the song at the beginning but thats prob for copy right purposes. Keep the content coming Mark the awesome guitar guy..
I actually filmed it, but my audio peaked out as I was singing it... I’ll upload a song later. Thanks for the great support
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel love your videos mate, ill second that your cover at the start would be even better. That's why I watch guys like JustinGuitar and AndyGuitar, so I can see if it is a version I want to/am ready to learn
I thought chords were a and b minor
Great content as always mate. And a great way to spend a cold Saturday arvo. Cheers mate👍
Where in the world are you based ?? It’s winter in NZ now too, so plenty of guitar playing indoors by the heater
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel I'm in Melbourne mate. The weather gives me a chance slack off from our home reno, and hook into some much needed guitar practice. So I get to run through a heap of your vids in succession. Good times. Much appreciated mate 🤘
Livin the dream mate! Luv Melbourne
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel Mate when we're all allowed to travel again, and your heading over to Melbs.. hit me up mate. I'll take you to a few band haunts🤘
Sounds dangerous!!... sign me up🎸👌🏼
Great lesson. I like the little riff concepts that add nice melody to the song with the hammer on techniques.
Thanks for the comment once again Mr Frank
I'm from Kentucky like Chris Stapelton but he appears to have not held him back lol. You're as Smooth as Ken-tuc-ky Bour-bon another great lesson.
What strings do you use on this guitar? I'm wondering is the G string wound? 😅
Great lesson, thank you. Beautiful guitar too.
Didn't know this song until your video. Playing it now. Would like to see you sing it.
I actually recorded the vocal part of this and a performance before shooting this video and fully intended to release that first however I pretty much blew up my audio settings trying to sing it LOL... i’ll re-record it with better audio settings and release it soon
Just came across your video, been learning acoustic for the last 2 years and not progressing much. Your video has inspired me to explore within the chords. Thanks for sharing and keep showing more cool stuff.
Always great to see the notification of your videos! Doing great as always, Mark!
I really appreciated the Supportive words Lorenzo! 😎🎸🙌🏼

Hey Mark! Awesome lesson on simple accent techniques that make a huge difference for a more professional sound! When are you going to strap on that awesome Gretsch for a lesson? Looking forward to it! Cheers!
Cheers John, what song should I feature the Gretch?
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel Hi Mark, off the top of my head I'd suggest almost anything by John Fogerty like Bad Moon Rising or something simple like Blue Moon Nights. Chords, transitions and lead sections. What do you think? Cheers!
I totally would love to do some John Fogerty .. nice dirty sounding amp and Hookiest riffs ever. Great idea John
@@MarkTheGuitarGuyChannel Cool! Can't wait!
