Great lesson, I really like how you showed the strumming patterns. I think you got most of the lyrics right, but in the chorus it is "if you ain't into that we dont give a damn"
Tennessee whiskey is NOT by Chris Stapleton, written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove in the early 80's first recorded and released by David Alan Coe then covered and released by George Jones.
No instructors like you Marty. !!! You are the BEST BEST BEST !!! teacher on the NET. You choose the the key for your voice, back it up with your style, and OMG tell us to adapt it to ours. I have been following you for 3 or 4 years. Peace in pain, joy in life. I picked ten songs I wanted to KNOW, at a barbecue last Friday. They actually asked me why am I doing computers... I added 5 songs, some Lou Reed, some Bowie, and two I wrote. Tennessee Whiskey and Sweet Jane in the same set. I am SO glad you're back ... His name is not Beesus... Be well brother,. ALL of us, you do not know, are blessed !!!
I watch hundreds of videos on guitar lessons but I have to say I really like this guy Marty, somehow he just explains things in a very simple way, and i catch on quickly
Sweet and easy going lesson's smooth sailing made simple. Love Marty's style it made practice in a no pressure environment like stepping in a river of music as it flows from one soul to another. 🤫 thanks bro.
Hi Marty found you on youtube , I was wondering if you could help me with 2 songs Waylon Jennings memories of you and I , I never found a strum pattern for that song and also Dwight Yoakams song Thing Change
Found that D already, Thanks Marty. My wife's favourite song and she has been asking me to play it on the acoustic guitar. Your lesson made it clear how to play the song easy. Despite the capo I managed to play the electric intro also. Thanks and Greetings form the Netherlands
Marty - The best thing to happen me in 2020 was finding your channel about an hour ago. Thank you for reigniting my desire to learn to play, and best wishes for an even better 2021!

I can't remember any of it. 6th grade Orchestra teacher said when they held music tryouts that I was a natural at every instrument they had. The flute the oboe the clarinet. Saxophone all of that I tried every instrument they had she sits on your a natural. I just learned something today about the number 33. Personality number 33. I haven't done my research yet I'm off down the rabbit hole now. Lol.
Thanks for uploads and motivation Marty from a new sub..love your videos and trying to get there myself so keep motivating me man,,,thanks again Marty.
I heard this song for the first time a couple of years ago. My friend was singing it and his voice is as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey. Now I can play along with him thanks to your easy to follow.
Hi Marty! Love your videos. In the last 3 years, you've taken me from a guy who played for himself to a regular gigging musician. You make it so simple. Have a suggestion for a video. Would love to hear you do Fast Car. Thanks again for the inspiration and for the great teaching!!! Hope we can have a beer together someday!!
I only discovered this song last summer and to find you had a lesson seemed like fate, such an incredible and beautiful song it really is. It's also at the level where iam too,it might take a while to get it perfect but I'll get there. Also a beautiful rendition mate,I love how relaxed you are when you play and you're voice is incredible 👌🏻
You sang that better than Chris!! Your tone was a lot more country!!!! There is nothing that sounds better than old country. Nice job!! ( I had to play it a few times)
Hee Marty, enjoying your Rock And Roll songs. Are you also in for some poprock: I would appreciate it if you could play "Waterloo" from the famous Swedisch band ABBA or any other song from this famous band.
Hi Marty, Thanks man for helping me out. I’m learning and appreciate your teaching.I would love to learn Brn yr Aur by Led Zep? Thanks much. You and Angela Petrelli are my teachers!
Thanx x's 2!! I'm glad you like it. Hey, I am trying to get 100k subscribers, I would appreciate it very much if you haven't already, please subscribe to my channel and tell your friends. Thanx for tuning in and good luck to you and yours
You are very welcome, I'm glad you like it. Thanx for your kind words. Hey, I am trying to get 100k subscribers, I would appreciate it very much if you haven't already, please subscribe to my channel and tell your friends. Thanx for tuning in and good luck to you and yours
Thanks Marty, I'm a beginner at the guitar and have chosen this as my seconded song to learn and it is coming along nicely but have noticed that there is a fifth chord your playing that you have also forgotten to mention, the Cadd9 which really helps the sound come together. Thanks again for what you do.
First time visitor, new sub, thanks. I will be strumming when it’s not midnight and wife is asleep. if not I will be looking for a bar-room (Kovid closed in Kentucky).
Hi Marty, I love all of you Videos. Those are very helpful for me and I love them all ! I thought this song Tennessee Whiskey is played only with 2 chords, but you play it with 3 ( C chord in addition). But it sounds very good. Thanks very much and nice greetings from Germany !!!!
Hey party Marty, Koy Torres here, thanks, you're awesome, . I do lots of different music. from jazz to latino to old school and country you name it i do it. but,.you make it easier for me. I love music, 60 years n will never quit. God Blessl you. We're out here looking at you. THANKS.
Thanx, you are very welcome. Hey, I am trying to reach 100k subscribers and would really appreciate it if you tell your buds about my channel, Thanx for helping me spread the word!! and thanx for tuning in and take care to you and yours.
Just a little tip for ya. Not good to run your fretting hand up the neck between chords when you’re playing rhythm like that, particularly with an acoustic guitar. It effects the tone of the muted chord progression and disrupts the tone flow. On a recording it would be very noticeable....
Suspect you're really Chris Stapleton and shaved your beard and dropped the hat. Fantastic job Marty!
One of my favorites
Mine too
Used to spend my nights out in a bar room
Liquor was the only love I've known
But you rescued me from reachin' for the bottom
And brought me back from being too far gone
You're as smooth
As Tennessee whiskey
You're as sweet
As strawberry wine
You're as warm
As a glass of brandy
And honey, I stay stoned on your love
All the time
I've looked for love in all the same old places
Found the bottom of the bottles always dry
But when you poured out your heart I didn't waste it
'Cause there's nothing like your love to get me high
You're as smooth
As Tennessee whiskey
You're as sweet
As strawberry wine
You're as warm
As a glass of brandy
And honey, I stay stoned on your love
All the time
You're as smooth
As Tennessee whiskey
You're as sweet
As strawberry wine
You're as warm
As a glass of brandy
Honey, I stay stoned on your love
All the time
You're as smooth
As Tennessee whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey
You're as smooth
As Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee whiskey

Great lesson, I really like how you showed the strumming patterns. I think you got most of the lyrics right, but in the chorus it is "if you ain't into that we dont give a damn"
Whhahhhhh, that lyric you speak of does not exist in this song I’m afraid
Tennessee whiskey is NOT by Chris Stapleton, written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove in the early 80's first recorded and released by David Alan Coe then covered and released by George Jones.

He is truly the best ❤❤❤
I don't think this chord progression sounds as good as playing in A, sorry Marty, but I still love ya😂🙏
Gklad i saw this, I always thought it needed the C, I would not bother with the D.
Man o man that Gibson sounds fantastic! Beautiful tone.
Its gorgeous right 👌🏻
Hate the B minor thank you very much I think it sounds very close to the original
Thank you, glad you like it. Thanx for watching!!
It's a new day ready for a new year any songs for beginner 5 string banjo?
Your the best Marty, we all love Stapleton's music, I love all of your content, thank you for all the work you do.
Why do you slide your hand up and down the fret between chords?
I would like to hear cold by Chris Stapelton
Great tune, I’ll keep it in mind for a possible future
Project.
Thanks for the lesson, Marty. You did a great version!👍😎🎸🎶
The C and D chord are out of tune. It's just A and Bm or G and Am with Capo2.. well that's the original track.
However, very nice explanation :-)
Check out George Jones, and David Allen Coe covering this song. Also, Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove, the people who actually wrote the song.
I grew up in this simplicity, ...
thanks for perpetuating the simple life,
a time when humans were less "engineered".
Great
Mister I LOVE YOUR VERSION OF THIS GORGEOUS NUMBER...!!! I'm gonna do this song so help me GOD I AM....🤣🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I might add that GIBSON sounds like a million bucks....it's beautiful, full, just the right amount of bass....stunner!!!
Hi Marty found you on youtube , I was wondering if you could help me with 2 songs Waylon Jennings memories of you and I , I never found a strum pattern for that song and also Dwight Yoakams song Thing Change

Ive came on leaps and bounds since watching this guy Many Thanks
That lesson was about as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey, lol good job on the lesson brother.
The only problem is.. when you use a capo.. you can't do the very first main lick..which is the signature of The song
Marty - The best thing to happen me in 2020 was finding your channel about an hour ago. Thank you for reigniting my desire to learn to play, and best wishes for an even better 2021!
D.A.C. recorded it first, then George Jones great tune either way
love your videos. i've picked around four years i broke my little finger in three places in my teens and lost interest due to limited use of my finger. since i found your videos i have really put my heart back into playing. you make it so simple anyone can play. never to old to learn. i am 63 years old. thank you so much.

Can I get the lyrics with cords from these version?
I heard this song for the first time a couple of years ago. My friend was singing it and his voice is as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey. Now I can play along with him thanks to your easy to follow.

It will come just keep at it, until you find the right tension on the strings. It’s a feel thing, not too hard not too soft. Good luck!!
