Hi, great review. Have you heard anything about Lovell stoves no longer being built. We have had a Lovell c400 installed but have been told by the distributer Woodford stoves - DuraFlue that they are not being built anymore and they cannot supply consumable spares including glass and fire bricks - is this right?
That’s interesting, I didn’t know that! I’d need to ask.
Hey, loving your reviews. I had an inset stove fitted in February, so not had much chance to use it yet but would be interested if you were ever to review a Rosedale Inset Eco smoke Control by Town & Country Fires (I have the flat door version). Brill. Thanks.
I haven’t tried one yet, but I am playing with a Town and Country at the moment, so a Pickering review is coming soon!
@@TheTortoise Good to know, thanks. I’ll be interested in your view of build quality.
@@scottnewman2937 Yea there are good and bad with all stoves, but mostly it looks pretty nice!
Hi Guys,
I have a question please, with the inset stoves do you lose a lot of the heat straight up the chimney because the vertical infill piece (whatever that is called!) stops the heat entering the room?
Kind regards
Tony
It is harder for heat to come into the room, but it’s not that they’re less efficient and wasting heat up the chimney. Often what happens is that heat goes into the masonry of the fireplace and breast. It’s not necessarily wasted, it just comes into the room much more slowly. Some people like this because all the masonry acts like a giant storage heater. Generally they aren’t as effective as freestanding stoves, but often the look advantage for some people, makes it worth the compromise.
Are you able to review charlton and jenrick fireline fpi5
I’ve got an FDC review coming soon. FDC and Fireline are the same stoves, so it will be my first foray into these models. Looking forward to it though!
How easy is it to remove the DEFRA kit.
@@Swerve744 it’s very simple. You just loosen a bolt underneath (which you can even do when it is installed) and then turn a little block 90° and the vent will have full movement.
